As someone who has worked at conventions, normally there is a handler whose job it is to be there for you, who makes sure you get your food, and drinks. The convention centers often times will assign it, but I would really recommend looking into something similar in the future! I helped a voice actor who would go to eat, and I would just be there to get the food, handle the transactions, tell people "Hey, these are the hours we have available and we would love to see you then! Right now we are on a food break but will be back soon!"
About to get tmi for the comments but I wanna let you know you’re not alone with the whole dad situation. Mine literally hasn’t seen me since I was 5 & never wanted anything to do with my sister and I. There’s a picture of me when I was somewhere between 1 & 2 where you can see his hand print where he hit me so hard. Him not being there or caring has never bothered me like he was a shit person. but I usually always laugh that kind of stuff off & people outside of my mom & sister think I’m strange but like what else and I supposed to do? I always tell people I prefer my situation of not having a dad around versus the trauma of putting up with one I could never count on ❤

EDIT: My situation growing up was not nearly as horrible as yours was, but I can always find solace in knowing that many other people had less than functional childhoods. I'm proud of you for overcoming.
You are my role model. Hearing more of your childhood story makes you even more my role model now. My whole life has been sh*tty, it's not as sh*tty as before now but I'm 20 with no job, litteraly no money, and I still depend on my parents. I was promised something by my father so I didn't bother to look for a job or start a small business or go back to school, I learn now even if someone promises you something you must still have your own. Clearly he didn't come through with his promise and I'm stuck, everyone expects me to be an "adult" when I wasn't taught anything, I'm figuring out everything by myself that I was supposed to be taught. I often feel like giving up but hearing that you had a tough childhood, you worked so hard for years plus took care of yourself, and you finally made your Japan dream amd have done so much more than you've ever imagined even tho there were new challenges along the way inspires me to do the same. It helps me see that I can do the same even tho I feel weak. Thank you for sharing your story with us Vina. 💗

I am facing some of the same struggles as you have faced which is why I see you as a huge inspiration.
I ran away at 18, because my parents were abusive. I saved up money my entire life. My biggest dream is to go to Japan to study and my dream is about to come true next year .
Seeing someone from not necessarily a similair situation, but from a more difficult position than most people have a succesfull relationship, getting into a fashion school (even though you dropped out, you still got in which is insane!), becomming a succesfull youtuber (I remember when you only had a few videos on your channel), you have a wonderfull boyfriend and you are (in my opinion) a succesfull youtuber.
I tottaly understand that you are having a lot of stress and you have talked before about having a tough time mentally before. I hope that you realize how much of a positive influence you have on people that you don't even know and how much of an inspiration you are.

I’m on the older end of your audience, too - I think I just like seeing young women doing their thing and not being afraid to be themselves, as corny as it sounds. When I was in my early/mid 20s I really struggled with that for a number of reasons that aren’t worth getting into here, and now that I’m older, in a better place, and ready to start building a life I actually want for myself, it just makes me feel better about the world sometimes to know that there’s young adults now who are freer than I was at that age and able to pursue their own dreams and happiness and live on their own terms.
To that end, good for you making the call you did about your dad. You’ve done so well without him, and that’s entirely his loss and your gain! I’ve had to make that kind of call about a parent, too, and it can be really hard but I don’t think enough people talk about how freeing it can also be to just… let go of someone who doesn’t care about your well-being but still feels entitled to have some level of control over your life. We stan a queen with solid boundaries and respect for her own personhood!!

I recently had to go out to dinner with my dad and the way he treats me, although better than your dad, is similar. he isn't interested in me or my life and the whole time was more interested in what my sister had to say than myself. your experiences made me feel less alone, and if someone as amazing as you can get through it and still shine brightly then i know i can too :')

I always really enjoy these videos, it really feels like talking to a friend. Even if some information might seem very personal to share (and you should only do so if you feel comfortable and safe) I think it's really important for these stories to be told. Especially people who went through abused should not be silenced. Also just in general I like how 'real' you are (whilst still acknowledging your right to privacy, and I'm not going to pretend like I actually know you, some stuff you can totally keep to yourself!). I don't even know for how many years I've been following you but I happily watch all your videos and I'm always wishing you well

I remember vividly when you were still in the UK and we were fb friends way back when. Not super close but enough that I kept tabs sometimes. Lost touch and then found you again a few years back when you were in that tiny apartment. Crazy to see where you’ve gone and excited to see where else your journey takes you. I’m happy to be here.
Also I feel that on the ADHD and the social battery. Boy do I know those struggles. My sleep schedule is currently fucked so I’m sleeping at random times. Mostly during the day. It’s crazy! 😅

It's definitely autumn! Here in Canada we just had our first snowfall today. So I would even say it's winter :P
I agree that the weather has been a disastrously unseasonable lately, even here in the West Midlands. Yesterday I went down my local spar and I just happen to be wearing shorts. I was almost there when it hit me; "it's the 1st of November, _WHY AM I WEARING SHORTS?"_
Whilst I'm always grateful that you upload any video Mikan, I hate the idea of you running yourself ragged trying to run a fashion brand and a channel simultaneously. A lot of your watchers will find their way back to your content regardless of upload schedule (even when YT fails to inform me that you've done so) so you prioritize whatever pays the bills and leads to the most security/comfort for you.
you are probably more active at night and tired at day because you are a night owl which basically means that your melatonin comes in during the day time it's very normal thing to have for humans since back when humans lived in small colonies they needed some to be awake to watch over the others at all time which cause the evolution of night owls that take about 30% of the human population there are many tips for night owls on google but just wanted to confirm to you that it's not about sleep schedule personally I suggest to take some melanin in the evening before you are supposed to sleep it can do wonders :)
also I am so happy to see how far you've come I've been watching you since middle school and I am going to graduate high school this year you are really amazing and inspiring

I went no contact with my father maybe 3 years ago now. He hasn’t tried to contact me in over 2 years. I did it for my mental health and for my own little family. I am better off but sometimes wish he cared enough to even try to contact me, but I know that he’s never had a true interest in who I was as a person so it is what it is. I can relate to your situation.

If you are the most awake at night maybe you should try bi-modal sleeping. Lots of people natural circadian rhythm dont fit the typical 9-5 life/sleeping pattern :)

I used to be exactly like you where I feel a lot more awake at night. I think I've evened out a little as I've gotten older. IE, now I'm tired in the morning, tired in the afternoon and tired in the evening, looooooooool.

We come from a similar cultural background and I don't know why because you never revealed too much about your family until now except little comments, but I somehow always had a feeling that we share a similar past aswell. Not happy about it since I would have wished you had a nicer life, but also I think nothing in life is without meaning. Everything happens for a reason. Your past made you who you are. I am happy for you that you have the life you have and the partner you have. But you did it all on your own. And you should be proud. I admire your courage. And as a big sister myself, let me just say, I am rooting for you. Please keep in mind that there are a lot of peoples who have similar backgrounds and never had the courage to do the things you did. It is hard. And it IS scary. Especially if you have no security net. I have the same problem and even though I am older than you I still struggle to leave my boring job to do what I really want to do exactly for this reason. No security net. Keep your head high. I also wake up late and stay up late. Like you, I feel hyper asf around 12am to 3am too lmaooo. What you can do is start waking up early, like 7 a.m. or so, and as time goes by your brain will get used to it. We are like plants so we need to follow the sun's schedule too. We need to be away when the sun is out, and asleep shortly after the sun has set. Hope that helps!!Love all your videos!! ♥
For the working at night: Smth I heard and also is true for me, I am most active at the evening and during the night, simply because all the other people around me are moslty asleep, so there is only a very small chance that I get interrupted or suddenly confronted with something unexpected that can get me out of my mindset and overwhelms me. I don't have to be cautious anymore and I can just let go and finally focus on my things. While during the day I am expected to be available and that's very exhausting.
Maybe that's why you are more active later in the day .o.> But that's just my experience.

If someone is not a good person they dont get a pass for having the same dna. Finallly adhd: make things a game, short games. Getting into a routine, please let me know. I read that atomic habit book lol didn't help.
I was going to get my brows microbladed, but then I did a lot of research and decided on powder brows instead. They tend to look good for longer with my skin type. Getting them done in 2 days! I hope both our brows turn out amazing!

I love hearing you talk about your fashion liberation from ex boyfriends though because OBVIOUSLY why should anyone stop dressing how they like?? I remember telling my first boyfriend I wanted to dye my hair pink and he was like "Since my mom is a hairstylist I just think my opinion is right that you should NOT do that." I remember being like "thanks for your input but I am going to heartily move forward because I don't care."
