In complete denture cases, We only block the undesirable undercuts in making the record blocks used for jaw relation registration to prevent scratches or damage of the master cast. In special tray we relieving the sensitive, sharp and non stress bearing areas only on the denture foundation. Some technicians block severe ridge undercuts during making closely fitted special trays to facilitate removal of the tray after setting without damaging the cast or tray.
