17- Final impression of upper arch. Part 3: Making the wash impression

- Clinical steps:
• Mixing of the rubber base impression material.
• Condensation silicon medium consistency rubber (Base paste - Catalyst paste).
• According to manufacturer instructions apply equal lengths from base and catalyst on the glass slab or mixing pad.
• Start mixing using a mixing spatula until obtaining homogenous color of the mixed materials.
• Load the tray with the impression material using the spatula or wax knife.
• Distribute the material well to the impression surface& borders of the tray.
• Insert the tray inside patient mouth from side to side& hold it with index and middle fingers of the other hand.
• Start border molding of labial, buccal flange & the posterior palatal seal area.
• Hold the tray steady until complete setting of the impression material.
• After complete setting of the impression material remove the impression from the patient mouth. Break the seal if the is a difficulty to remove it.
• Suction sound must be heard during impression removal.
• Pressure areas can be corrected by relief of the compound on borders or the fitting surface of the tray then take an overall impression wash.
• Review the anatomical landmarks of the impression, disinfect it and send it to the lab.

Perforated stock tray for Retention of impression. The non perforated special tray for selective pressure impression tech. If u do perforation that means relief area.

Good evening doctor In his TH-cam video from 2019, I saw that he used zhermarck Tixoflex M for a definitive impression of an edentulous jaw. Could you please explain to me why you used exactly that material? Does Tixoflex M have specific indications for which you preferred it to another? Thank you good evening.

We used this material for final wash after border molding by green compound or putty rubber base. It's preferred in cases have large undercut because it has a good recovery from deep undercuts without distortion.

This is a special tray with spacer. You can't use ZnoE in a spaced special tray.
Putty rubber base should be used only for border molding. Final wash should be made from medium or light rubber base.

ينفع ب Medium rubber بل هى المادة المفضلة لدى. يوجد technique خاص لمقاس الطقم الجزئى باستخدام Rubber base ارجو البحث عنه فى جوجل ومراجعته
