Can you do a video of military veterans going to the maratime college? I have been really interested in becoming a Merchant Marine once my enlistment ends ( Currently Active Duty Marine Corps). But I can't find any information on what it's like as a veteran. Going to be honest, I would dread being treated like a recruit again. I think I just got the wrong perspective and it would really help me and maybe even other service members that are thinking of being a Merchant Marine.
Vets get treated better than the typical 17-18 year old freshman. Make sure to mention it during Indoc when you get the chance to introduce yourself. The people that run indoc are like 20 years old and never been in the military, they will treat you better. There’s a VA office here and I’m pretty sure you can apply for day student status. Indoc should be a breeze tho, just some marching
I'm currently making college decisions and am narrowed down to SUNY maritime and Mass maritime. Even as a new york resident mass is a couple thousand cheaper than suny (because of scholarships) although I'm having a tough time choosing which one to attend to receive a deck license. Any suggestions?
Wish you the best in your decision man! I’m definitely interested in both Maritimes and the USMMA as well. Do what’s best for you education wise and financial wise, but hopefully Seamus can give you better insight. 👊🏿
Thank you for making all these videos I really learn a lot But I have a question For one to be admitted to do a marine transportation major Is it necessary for one to do some science subjects in high school?
very helful vedio , can you tell me sir how to do gratuate maritime engineering after compeleted B.Tech in machanial branch , i want to do join marchant navy and i gratuate in machanical branch . so sir can you tell how to join maritime academy . please guide me?
you get 3 tries to pass a class after that you can't take it and you need math classes to graduate. many engineers study many hours a night for engineering classes.
@@SeamusMaritime I just talked to my cousin he is right below captain he said when I get there tell them i want my 1600 ton license and I can just go for 2 years and I think he said if I tell them I wanna work deck I won’t have to study for a engineer or when I go do they ask where do you wanna be

Is it necessary for one to do some science subjects in high school?
Im not certain. I did but I would try to apply and see what happens. Maybe email admissions office

do you need to do honors courses to get into maritime? What classes and grades did u get? High school
I didn't do honors classes. I was a B- B+ average student. Slightly above average SAT
@@SeamusMaritime how did u prepare for the SAT
Is the math at maritime hard or is like everything hands on
hard. engineers have a lot of math in the classroom
And do people cheat on math or study hard and if you fail a class what will happen

@@jvsiahforbes this is true. 2 year program only. there are specific majors for this
@@SeamusMaritime so to work on deck, you don't need to do math?
@@debastianpranks you need to do math, not nearly as much as an engineer does tho
