Bucks played a great series . Truly came down to the will power of the league MVP that year Allen iverson such a hard a fast fearless player to guard. I think in Allen's prime hes an ungaurdable player in any era his speed and jumpshot gives him an extreme advantage over the rest of the NBA at that time . What a great series and great moment for the Game
I miss those glory Iverson days . GO SIXERS !! I can't believe it's been more than a decade since A.I's stretch. I remember this game like it was yesterday and going wild and crazy on broad st .
@Tyron Banks no, it's the league, trust me. I got older from the 80's and basketball got better until about 2013. IM old, so from 13 till now me being 9 years older has nothing to do with the lack of entertainment for me.
The 2001 eastern conference playoffs were awesome. Both second round matchups went to 7 games. The ECF went to 7 games. Only 1 of 7 series’s ended in a sweep. The west was pretty much the opposite. There was one sweep and a five game series in the second round. The WCF was a sweep. Only 1 of 7 saw featured both teams win more than 1 game in the series. Allen Iverson averaged 33/6/5/2 during the postseason. In his 22 games played he scored 30+ points 14 times, 40+ points 4 times, and 52 and 54 in 2 other games. Iverson averaged 29.73 points per game for his career in the playoffs. That’s 2nd all-time. He’s only behind Michael Jordan.
I feel like there needs to be a playoff rematch of this series. Even though the Bucks have won a title recently, there are many fans in Milwaukee that want the chance to finally put the demons of Games 5 and 7 to bed. Hopefully, in 2023 there will be that chance. (But it will be the Greatest Player in Bucks History against the best player that the Sixers have had since AI)
Philadelphia 76ers are in the NBA finals for the first time since Dr J and Moses Malone won their nba title in 1983 and facing off against the undefeated in the playoffs, the reigning NBA CHAMPS LA Lakers with Kobe and Shaq?
Breen called it a "hip check" (because it was). Not a flop at all. It would've been totally fine to miss that call if they hadn't called a foul every time Iverson hit the deck (he was a tough guy, but certainly flopped more than Allen).
"i hear this GAME WAS RIGGED"........ thats what i responded to......hard to call a game rigged when a guy drops 44..... watched every minute of that series, looked normal to me......... calls usually go to the more agressive team, teams that ATTACK the cup, not a team who just throw up jumpers for 7 games straight.... thats all bucks did.........
That's not true. Their point guard (Cassell) posted up often and was very crafty at drawing fouls. Glenn Robinson might have shot a lot of jumpers, but for him not to shoot a SINGLE free throw until game 5 (especially after attacking the hoop & getting tripped in crunch time of game 4) was absurd. Allen was a pure shooter but could fly to the basket back then--as evidenced by his dunk over McGrady earlier in that year's playoffs.
alen koka This, AI only got calls because he would literally get mauled in the key & they had no choice but to call it. The refs put the clamps on him after game 1 of the finals
This series was rigged. David Stern was caught cheering on the Sixers during the series and the Sixers had a 28 to 16 advantage in game 5 on the free throws the same game Iverson was conveniently 5 of 27 from the field. The 2008 Finals were also rigged. Celtics had 2 games with 20+ extra free throws. The only reason this series was swept under the rug was because the Sixers were never considered a legit championship contender in 2001 even after Iverson erupted for 48 in a game 1 victory over the Lakers. So everyone pretty much looked at the series as an "oops" incident. And since the Lakers screwed the Kings in 2002, people kind of ignored the Celtics getting almost every call in the 2008 Finals.
i love the early 2000's nba
+cooliovasquez same with me
Iverson is the best man,the best player since jordan left...

And it’s been more than 2 decades since they’ve been out of the second round 😢
Yeah man that whole 2001 season was special, even that All Star Game.
iverson kicked ass in this game. wow
I remember watching all these games with so much excitement, completely different league now and not as exciting.

He wasn’t going to miss the opportunity
@69Batmanrocks Amen to that. I got goosebumps watching this video. I miss that old sixers crew.
Not necessarily his indivudual performance, I was talking about the whole series, including game 7. Just looking at the bigger picture.

Both of these teams haven't been close to the Eastern Conference finals since
Lol are you forgetting the Sixers were a game 7 win away from the ECF in 2012
Not anymore. Bucks won it all in 2021
this series wasn't rigged the game was just more physical. you couldn't get away with flopping as much(ray allen at 4:20 for example)
kobebryant never sucks ever
that was a foul
Breen called it a "hip check" (because it was). Not a flop at all. It would've been totally fine to miss that call if they hadn't called a foul every time Iverson hit the deck (he was a tough guy, but certainly flopped more than Allen).
Forgot McKie started over Snow
bathnbodyking snow was ass

and all the fouls they didn't call on him to the point where he missed a game because of injuries?I don't think so...

I AM WHAT I AM DOOKIE A.I
Bucks deserved to win this series.. They got screwed on some big calls.
in other words, you didn't watch it...
I hear this game was rigged and Sixers got the majority of the calls in this series.
You should actually watch all the games NOTHING WAS RIGGED ! If anything the REFS didn’t call all the fouls that Iverson was suppose to get !
alen koka This, AI only got calls because he would literally get mauled in the key & they had no choice but to call it. The refs put the clamps on him after game 1 of the finals
