【Yunnan｜Meet Yourself EP2】 ~ A Dreamy Rendezvous with the Snow-Kissed Shangri-La

- This episode ~ we traveled from Lijiang to Shangri-La, and unexpectedly encountered a rare heavy snowfall. The highway was even temporarily closed due to the excessive snow, and we almost missed our schedule to go to Shaxi.
Attraction Introductions:
📍Lijiang Food Market
Due to the abundance and affordable prices of fruits in Yunnan, we specifically asked our guide to take us to explore the local market!
📍G214 National Highway
Known as one of the most beautiful highways in China, passing through mountainous and uninhabited areas. It's a famous ecological highway; the section from Xiaguan in Dali, Yunnan to Mangkang, Tibet is also called the Yunnan-Tibet Highway.
📍Middle Tower of the Harmony Pagoda
Located on the main road entering Shangri-La from the south, also called the Unity Pagoda or Concord Pagoda. It's currently the largest white Tibetan Buddhist pagoda in the world.
📍Stone Pile Road
Along the road at the foot of Shika Mountain, the sides are lined with mani stone piles. According to the guide, these were stacked by local people of status when getting married to pray for blessings, so it's also called the Happiness Road!
📍Napa Lake
A highland lake located at an altitude of 3,266 meters, is also a nature reserve. In summer when snow melts it forms the lake, while in autumn and winter, the lake recedes forming the Yla Prairie.
📍Dukezong Ancient Town
Located at 3,300 meters above sea level, with a history of over 1,300 years. It was an important town on the Ancient Tea Horse Road and the first stop after entering Tibet.
Dukezong, in the Tibetan pronunciation, has two meanings - a castle built on stones and a moonlight town.
Its most famous attraction is the huge prayer wheel, which holds a Guinness World Record!
📍Zaya Tusi Banquet
Tusi represents the chief of a tribe, and the Tusi banquet allows tourists to experience Tibetan culture and taste local cuisine!
So items like buttered tea have been adjusted to suit tourists' tastes better. If we ordered it at a regular restaurant, the flavor might be less accustomed for us.
📍Songzanlin Monastery
The most beautiful highland monastery in Shangri-La, also known as the Little Potala Palace. It's best to dedicatedly listen to the tour guide's explanations and participate in worship rituals by allocating half a day here.
📍Blue Scenic Tuzhu Hotel
Located next to Dukezong Ancient Town, convenient for transportation and exploring the old town. The hotel service is great, rooms are equipped with heating, hot water, and electric blankets. The only drawback is no breakfast provided, but given the price, it offers high value and is highly recommended!
