I actually like this game a lot. However, I do recommend using the EU server, as it is usually quite active during afternoon hours (in Europe). The reason why it is not terribly popular is probably because the WWI game series is a bit of a niche franchise - appealing primarily to history buffs. Hopefully some of the recent bugs will soon be fixed, as they are very annoying.
The whole series is very good. Verdun is still the best one of the three though. Though I'm probably biased as my Great Grandfather served with the 8th Battalion 1st AIF and fought on the Western front. He fought at Gallipoli prior as well. His regimental enlistment number was 10 so he was very quick to enlist. He made it all the way through until he was gassed late in the war and sent home 2 months before armistice.
I think this could be fixed either by the devs placing everything in an affordable bundle (which they sorta do) or making an ultra- game combining all 3 games plus more.
THIS GAME IS SO UNDERRATED!!! This game is soo good but sadly not enough people are playing it but thank u for playing Isonzo and brining some attention to it
(I'm a player with 83+ hours on the game.) Yeah, most people don't talk, including me, who have microphones. Every now and then someone will, but it's a game you just enjoy quietly or in Discord with a group of friends. Note: Reached the end of the video. The attackers (the enemy team) ran out of lives and weren't contesting any objectives, so you won the game. Every game is attack and defend. Attackers have a limited amount of lives that replenishes when they complete the objectives of that "assault." When they complete all the "assaults" the attackers win. If they run out of lives, the defenders win.
Just the people wondering why they can't merge all three games it's been told before that they can't do the different versions of unity used for the games
The games are populated around the evening eastern time and around 1 am they die down so you might need to switch to EU servers if you're in the US or AU.
ppl don't talk in isonzo cuz it's primarily a european games and well we all speak different languages. that being said there is usually a up to 3 pretty busy matches happening during EU times. none ot the ww1 game serries games are very populated but they tend to keep a very dedicated yet tiny core playerbase
I saw this game and loved it when it dropped it hurts me so much to see it in this state. I am so thankful that you have uploaded content on this giving it your spotlight on youtube for even just a day.
Isonzo was great that first month on release - I think I fell back into Squad, came back months later and servers we're dead besides all the bad ping Europe servers.
This game series is so fucking good. I don’t know why they keep making more games instead of just adding them into the current game. It isn’t underrated it is just divided.
5:18 the reason you won is because the attackers have limited amounts of spawns, so since your team killed enough attackers, they didnt have any reinforcements to keep fighting
My only gripe with verdun and tannenberg is the grind to level up the squads it'd makes sense to either allow the use of career points or to set the combined squad level
tbh talking about random thing especially history things while playing violent games is too wholesome, i remember talking about quantum copiumn while being killed by SCPs
I really like that game. It kinda got overtaken by Hell Let Loose on my list of games to play, but I still think it's amazing. I almost never use mic in this game and almost never hear anyone using it. I don't think it's that kinda game. I tend to play it exactly when I don't feel talkative enough for HLL. People arguing over 100 years old political events and trying to translate them to current day is the classic weekend text chat in Isonzo xD

Played this game at launch, had a watch party for the Silent Mountain before buying it at midnight. I think I may have been the first person to reach level 100 in the world. I love this game and this studio!! :D
I bought tannenberg a month ago and I liked it a lot so I bought Isonzo too, and it's defintely better, more polish, better classes and mechanics, it's sad that only 2 lobbies have real people, it deserves more
I played this a lot on release. Back then people were in love with the game, then after about 2 weeks when people started unlocking shit there were WAAAAAY too many grenades, made the game really tedious to play.
I played one of their games, very similar, loved it! Only a few hundred people online. Came back a year later, only 5 people in any match. Really sad, all their games end up like this.
What do you mean no one plays it? I've put 50 hrs in this one plus over 100 in their other titles. The WW1 series has always had a loyal base of players even if small, and it's always possible to find 1-2 servers with people in it. It's not for the average run and gunner like CoD and I'm glad for that. Teamwork is essential.
I think the last update messed up the player base cause the ps4 couldn’t handle it . I was playing everyday but that last update my ps4 couldn’t run it for weeks.
There were tons of players back in october, I played for about 200 hours and got all the achievements but then it became boring. Empty servers most of the time and the updates took too long to be delivered. There's no point in adding new maps if nobody is playing anymore
isonzo is a whole lot better now with better dlc's being released and you can play the dlc maps for free there are a whole less bugs and generally fun to play
When the developers install AI or Bots to fill their game, like enlisted. It’s like playing Stalker. They are insanely accurate, to the point that the only time you can win a gun fight is when you find another player
haha I remember that you asked if anyone had a mic ! Suddenly hearing a voice... was like wow, a voice :D Indeed a rare thing in this game. I make sure I let myself heard next time 👍 Despite lack of voices it is still a lot of fun to play Isonzo ! I am a she btw.. but you could not know that without my voice ;)
That whole series is basically a game by and for historians, no translation or explanation of equipment names, just "here's the Italian designation, go look it up".
Isonzo is great and has different mechanics and such compared to the older games. The lobbies are very full and plentiful during United States daytime hours, typically mid-day and mornings.
people complaining that it should've been a dlc are just outlandish. It is a small team working their asses off for 3 different games. Sure the idea is the same but different maps, guns, factions, languages (voice acting), time periods. It deserves to be its own game and if you hate it so much don't buy it. I have never not enjoyed any of the 3 games as they are all very fun imo
I just downloaded this game, it's actually a pretty good FPS Multiplayer game and is just as good as Battlefield games. The Multiplayer Gaming isn't too difficult and not too blandly easy. It's just right.
The problem is there is too many of these type of more realistic shooters that already has a niche playerbase. At this point if your not squad, or Hell let loose You cant retain the playerbase. Esceptions can be made for more coop style ones, but games like Insurgency and Ready or not and Ground branch fill that area.
so the problem with Isonzo is that each time they released a new Game/Expansion its splits the community because you need each game to play on the relevant maps, which meant that when Tannenberg came out it split the player base in lets say half, so once Isonzo came out it split it in half again, which means that there basically no one playing these multiplayer only games which creates the low player count death spiral, where people stop playing or checking if there's players because no ones playing which means no one plays or checks. Verdun was a very fun game and I think of the three its the only one that still has some players but not many
I put over 400 hours in to Verdun, but just couldn’t get in to Tannenberg or Isonzo as much. It’s more of the same, and the dwindling player counts killed whatever enthusiasm I might have had left.
This game is fucking goated and I'm going to squeeze every single hour out of this game while it still has a couple hundred of players and 3 simultaneously well populated servers
Been playing these games since Verdun. Absolutely love them. Isonzo, IMO, is the best in the series due to so much QoL improvements overall. I kinda want them to go back to Verdun and Tannenburg and match them up in a nice refresher. Got Isonzo day one and grinded hard. To all you players out there, fear Zeb.
I dont know much about what the devs did. But spliting Verdun, Tannenberg and Isonzo in to three? No thnaks! Also they could of made more games like The Balkan front ( Standard 1914 till 1916 after that the Solun front), possibly add Galipoly campaign? And should add more maps to Verdun and Tannenberg. My opinion thanks for reading!
The fate of the WW1 game series is weird. I loved Verdun deeply. A slightly more hardcore battlefield game set in WW1 before battlefield 1 released (a year prior). Then Tannenberg came out and kind of divided the player base, It went much bigger and on the Eastern front with a lot more going on but somehow feels less intense compared to Verduns trench focus. I liked Verdun better imo which might be the reason why it averages similar to Isonzo. Can't speak much on Isonzo because I haven't played it yet. Their niche and niche games like this either barely survive or die. Squad is niche and so is Hell let loose and its sibling Beyond the Wire. Squad survives well coming from Project Reality which was a natural evolution into a more hardcore Battlefield experience. Hell Let Loose is the WW2 version and Beyond the Wire WW1. having played them all I'd say the only reason Beyond the Wire is suffering is because WW1 is even more niche than modern and WW2. Niche games also requires you trying to be on when most people are on in your region. Even squad can hit low player pop on servers when its not peak time.
I think it's the fact they keep making new games for every theater instead of putting it all into one game and also not really updating the games afterward
Honestly the real hayday was Verduns release and following updates back in the day. I remember seeing regularly 400 to 800 throughout the week for years it felt like. I remember when you could play that shit in your browser. Good days.
The developers literally LIVE on the fact that they release a (WWI-) game that dies off in mere months less then a year after release. It was the same with Verdun and than Tannenberg and now we have Isonzo. Every single game went through the same issues. Instead of putting all games together with a server browser, they create a game with a disturbingly short shelf life which gets released every 2 or so years and dies within months.
Looks like I finally found the game I was looking for all my life: one shot and you dead. Near explosion and you dead. Fall and your leg breaks. Well seems like nobody wants to play the games I like :D
You won because you were defending and the attackers ran out of manpower. The attacking team has limited number of respawns, which increases whenever they progress to next sector. If you defend them for long enough, they lose and you win. Isonzo is asymetric so one team always attacks and one always defends.
The devs really only have themselves to blame, Verdun was loads of fun, full lobbies all the time, then Tannenberg split the player base in two and now Isonzo has split it even further. They could have just built it into Verdun as extra maps and factions but no, they want you to pay full price for each pack of maps in separate games. Absolutely loved verdun, and absolutely despised basically everyone who used VC in matches
I think this could be fixed either by the devs placing everything in an affordable bundle (which they sorta do) or making an ultra- game combining all 3 games plus more.
THIS GAME IS SO UNDERRATED!!! This game is soo good but sadly not enough people are playing it but thank u for playing Isonzo and brining some attention to it
isonzo is fucking fantastic and so satisfying. not underrated in my opinion, but underplayed definitely
(I'm a player with 83+ hours on the game.)
Yeah, most people don't talk, including me, who have microphones.
The ww1 game series is deserves a playerbase of the thousands, nolike now how it averages like 60 or so.
They really need to package all their games together, put it into one massive game and sell it as one big war
In this game series, Tannenberg is my favorit, but they dont have many differences, so play whatever you want. I really like games of that kind.
I played Verdun and it was an amazing experience
I just wish more people saw these incredible games
Im glad i found you. I love your type of videos
I love this game so much it is basically one of the only games I regularly play.
if some guys that love the serie have a discord or smthg to play, we can make big lobbies
Ps4?
@@gabrielsantosbastos5257PC 😔
Just the people wondering why they can't merge all three games it's been told before that they can't do the different versions of unity used for the games
The games are populated around the evening eastern time and around 1 am they die down so you might need to switch to EU servers if you're in the US or AU.
Easy example of devs have no clue how to market
ppl don't talk in isonzo cuz it's primarily a european games and well we all speak different languages. that being said there is usually a up to 3 pretty busy matches happening during EU times. none ot the ww1 game serries games are very populated but they tend to keep a very dedicated yet tiny core playerbase
THIS GAME IS SO GOOD I WISH IT GOT MORE ATTENTION
I saw this game and loved it when it dropped it hurts me so much to see it in this state. I am so thankful that you have uploaded content on this giving it your spotlight on youtube for even just a day.
Played Verdun from beta, absolutely love the game, I still come back to it every now and then, love how it has ANZAC squads
I play a lot of bot-only games, and so the WW1 Games Series really fills that void. Mmm the Werndl.
playing as officer can be fun dropping bombing runs or gassing tf outta the bots
Isonzo was great that first month on release - I think I fell back into Squad, came back months later and servers we're dead besides all the bad ping Europe servers.
This game series is so fucking good. I don’t know why they keep making more games instead of just adding them into the current game. It isn’t underrated it is just divided.
please revive this game. first played it when it came out and it was so fun to play with friends
The game is awesome. I really have a blast playing. Period.
You will find a million scoopofpoops in military games
The first game was a win, as you depleted the attackers tickets and succesfully defended the last sector
The scenery in this game is astonishing, it’s almost distracting in gun-battles at how nice the views are lol
"Game Nobody plays"? That's simply not true. I play Isonzo all the time, and there are always populated servers lol
The games actually pretty active now. Every day there's usually at least 2-3 full servers
I was eyeballing both and ultimately decided on hell let loose. I think I made the right choice. Proximity chat is an extremely underrated feature
@@Wulfjager absolutely, even as someone who doesnt even have a mic, hearing people talk i great, in hell let loose often i go medic, and if youre down and scream ¨medic¨ you bet im running full sprint towards your ass, before anybody else, and you better say your thank yous too cuz ill be waiting
Teamwork is essential.
yeah this franchise is awesome but has SO FEW PLAYERS which just makes it a horde simulator
you could try a different region. EU Servers could be slightly better
There is a decent playerbase now, since they had a free weekend and added a new map. You should give it another try if you liked it
isonzo is a whole lot better now with better dlc's being released and you can play the dlc maps for free there are a whole less bugs and generally fun to play
Verdun is great when you don’t get in with the sweaty snipers, Tannenberg was DOA and Isonzo is criminally underrated
That whole series is basically a game by and for historians, no translation or explanation of equipment names, just "here's the Italian designation, go look it up".
homie responds with "the good ol' isles" instead of an insult when you said UK, and said he didn't want anything in return, what a real one.
Oceania server has some consistent regulars and new players being jumping on since the sales
I love Verdun and I never knew these were separate games. Thought it was a dlc 😂
Isonzo just hit a new peak player count, exceeding Verdun's. Idk about you, but I fully intend to revisit it!
I always get at least one full server of i play during peak hours(USA). Isonzo is definitely my favourite shooter of recent years
Interesting.. *starts enlisted*
The players do have mics. But as the same with the other games of the series, the players are special.
-I'm going to do the biggest flank ever.
*Clips through terrain*
Me: Man you didn't have to take that so literally
This game is fucking goated and I'm going to squeeze every single hour out of this game while it still has a couple hundred of players and 3 simultaneously well populated servers
Idk why but I just started watching your shit and I gotta be honest it’s hilarious
Guess the only way to keep it alive is to return to play it again. Here I go
It’s our duty to play as much as possible. Call in to work!
Me too, they should revisit the Western Front!
This Game is great. Ich zocke das Spiel richtig gerne. I love it
The fate of the WW1 game series is weird.
Players are increasingly becoming a finite and important resource. Without them a game can fail, with them it can be a big hit.
"It is a shame that Decemberists failed in 1820s Russia" Me: So did they just have 11 months that year?
I think it's the fact they keep making new games for every theater instead of putting it all into one game and also not really updating the games afterward
"Get shit on!"
Honestly the real hayday was Verduns release and following updates back in the day. I remember seeing regularly 400 to 800 throughout the week for years it felt like. I remember when you could play that shit in your browser. Good days.
Its a shame that they split the game , because when the server is full it feels great too play , but sadly that is a rarity
4:49 this is the greatest flank ive ever seen
I already know its gonna be fire
rye's inspirational speech is: "when in doubt pull the wallet out"
The developers literally LIVE on the fact that they release a (WWI-) game that dies off in mere months less then a year after release.
It was the same with Verdun and than Tannenberg and now we have Isonzo. Every single game went through the same issues. Instead of putting all games together with a server browser, they create a game with a disturbingly short shelf life which gets released every 2 or so years and dies within months.
Just like COD(2012-13) miss the game back then
I think now it’s on gamepass I think it has kinda revived the game on consoles
Looks like I finally found the game I was looking for all my life: one shot and you dead. Near explosion and you dead. Fall and your leg breaks. Well seems like nobody wants to play the games I like :D
You won because you were defending and the attackers ran out of manpower. The attacking team has limited number of respawns, which increases whenever they progress to next sector. If you defend them for long enough, they lose and you win.
Isonzo is asymetric so one team always attacks and one always defends.
