Always take ur time to get everything done 😊❤️😃
1) Keep an empty box available for items you decide to get rid of. 2) Use space saver bags for storing extra blankets and pillows, etc. They really help save space. 3) Keep a notepad and pen available to list anything you might need. It could be utensils, food, cleaners, etc. 4) Be careful storing anything in trash bags. They could be mistaken for actual trash and thrown away. 5) Break down boxes as you empty them. Stack them or put them into a larger box to get them out of the way.
I can’t believe how your kitchen, dining room and living room are almost the same floor plan as your previous house with a few differences.🤩

My favorite part was Emma coming home in her bows!! She looked so cute!! Kyle was so adorable telling her she was so cute he couldn't stand it!! I love how much you guys love your pets. I'm a huge animal person and my Pepper looks a lot like your Emma, so I love seeing other people love their fur babies so much too. Cutest moment ever ♡ You filling the sink with water for Benji was so cute too. Loved it! Thanks for the heart warming content. Made me smile. Congrats on your new house. It's very beautiful :)

What do you think of putting the couches like an L shape, with back of couch facing the kitchen., And a long table behind couch near window with plants on it. And a area rug in front of the couches, and soft throw blankets on corners of couches. 💕💕💕 sounds cozy to me.

Oh I'd recommend you try having those couches actually a few feet away from the wall! Your space is so big and open I think it could work AND you'd get a walkway behind the one to the left of the fireplace. 💕

When we move I always make sure there is a suitcase with 5 days of clothes/meds for each person. That gives me 5 days to get things unpacked/putaway. It usually doesn't take me that long, but I like having that extra day or 2 cushion in case something comes up.
When we move, every room has a different colour, and the boxes has this colour on them, so we know which box goes where. On moving day, we have a map of the house with each room coloured so we knew where all the boxes goes, and on each entry way for the room, colour was displayed. We have moved 5 times in yet the last 28 years. And my husband has that yearning of wanting to move again!!!

I would put my food in the butlers pantry on the outside cabinets. Then put all the small appliances, bulk foods, water and extras in the (closet) pantry part. Can't wait to see what you do with everything.

One tip I have is to unpack your organizers first. That way you can plan out where things will go and you can organize and unpack at the same time. I've found that this saves a lot of time.

My first thought for the additional furniture needed in your media room for the boys would be floor pillows. You can store them when not in use. They make them in such a huge array of colors that they will match any other furniture you use for the 'adult seating' and they can seat any number of their friends on movie nights. I'm a minimalist at heart so using fun furniture that can be stored away or stacked up when not in use is ideal for my lifestyle. Have fun with the different styles of seating that's available and maybe not so common or mainstream.

Good tips! I’ve passed them along! May I make a suggestion that revolutionized our kitchen when our kids were about the age of yours? A senior lady from church, told me to move my plates, bowls, and glasses to a lower cabinet closest to the table. The table setting process became so much easier for the kids (as they could reach everything without asking for help). And if you have your cutlery down at that end, dishwasher putting away will be easier for them, and no one will be walking behind you to get table items while you may still be cooking. At first I found the idea of having plates etc lower down kind of odd, but I quickly fell in love with it! Worked splendidly!

My husband and I have moved a lot. I like to color code my boxes according to the room they belong to. When loading, I group the colors together and when we're unloading, each box goes into the room it belongs in immediately.
Love how patiently you do things.
The only tip I have is to have the whole family look through every cabinet in the kitchen so they can find things. Nothing like unpacking and being asked where something is. It’s coming together nicely. I love it. I look forward to seeing it become your home more and more as you go. Ty for sharing this with us.

If you don’t mind not having a pantry, (because there are so many cabinets) you can put everything from the pantry in all the butler pantry cabinets and put litter boxes and stuff for your cat(s)
How nice to have that big vanity, with a space to sit down!! Dreamy.
Biggest packing tip when you gave older kids- each gets their own things plus one other room or closet. I had one son do kitchen, one do kids bathroom, one did living room, and one packed pantry. We also have a “bye-bye bag” that anything to donate goes into; we’ve done this since our kids were little, hence the name.
Your new home’s floor plan in the living room, dinning and kitchen is so similar 😳. Loved seeing you unpack and all the real life moments. Can’t wait for the next video. Am here for all of it. ❤️❤️❤️

When I first saw the “orange” couches...I thought oh no! However, at a closer look they are much more neutral. And yes bring them closer together. Very nice! Take your time...it will all come together soon.

When I unpack I usually start with a large box so that as I unpack the little ones I break them down as I unpack them and then I stack them in the large box just to keep it clean and tidy 😍

I’m a 52 yr old woman, and take my cleaning in spirts, however, I do pretty well with keeping my kitchen clean, as I enjoy cooking. I suffer with MS and Rheumatoid Arthritis, so I’m bad to let the rest of my home slide, but after watching your videos, I was so inspired with all of you wonderful ideas, that I cleaned the whole house at once( blew my husbands mind LOL! and I will certainly pay for it tomorrow, but I just wanted to Thank you for the inspiration, and I’m gonna try really hard to follow the ideas you shared. The last 2 times we moved, I took a week off from work, so I could get it done without feeling the rush of going back to work. I’m also one of those that gets into “zones” where I’m on a project for hours and finish without realizing the time. Lol.
My daughter was excited to watch this with me. I had to wait for her to finish homework so we could watch it together.
I would get chairs that are neutral as well so that as you change out your pillows and seasons, they will work as well. Some people get chairs with color like blue, green, etc but they don't change easily with the color scheme.

I was in the military also and moved often....I always set up the kitchen and my son's room first. My room could wait but I always wanted him to 'at home' in any new location. Love your new home! 🤩

Two comments: Use paper plates for packing. Styrofoam gives off carcinogens when disposed of or burned. Paper materials are more eco friendly.
I would also bring the couches in from the walls, with two chairs or recliners for seating. Maybe behind the couch a table for plants by the window. Good luck!

Put sofa tables behind the couches. That will give you a place for lamps and decor while pulling the couches further into the room and still leaves plenty of room for a coffee table.

OMGosh! I realize the sheer number of home builders and developments in the Phoenix metro area is too large to list, however, Hubs and I are “home tour freaks”... going to each and every open house, new model home openings and tours, and are constantly trying to find new ideas via these tours and experiences.. our all-time favorite “date day” will begin at 8am on Saturday, as we head out the door with our IPads, water bottles, and a picnic basket full of easy, pre-bagged snacks (roasted sunflower kernels with smoked sea salt, all types of jerky, honey crisp apples, etc). We stop for breakfast, and go over the “flight plan” as we’re waiting for our order.. after breakfast we head out on our journey.. usually taking a break at 2-3 for lunch, then have enough time to hit 2 - 3 more before heading home to drop our things, perhaps make a quick change, then do dinner and movie(s)..(if we eat dinner early enough, we’ll actually squeeze in 2 movies at the theater. We’ve done this at least 2 weekends in every month we’ve been married, and we will celebrate our 24th anniversary in October. Obviously, we have our favorites, and we will go to some of the same sets of models several times. Anyway!! - I **adore** your home, and recognize it as it was among our fave list to revisit several times. We actually seriously considered purchasing your model in that development.. but “life happened” and we were thrust into a series of challenges with family. I still absolutely love that home - it has the wonderful feel some houses have which make you feel at home, even when it was empty and then simply staged to sell. You are going to love this area of the Valley.. we live approximately 4.5 miles north and 1 mile west of that neighborhood, and we’ve been here for what will be 17 years come this August 24th. Welcome to AZ! And, of course, to our neck of the woods. Congratulations on your very wise purchase!! I’m so excited to watch as you make all the amazing choices and install all the touches that will make it *yours*. Yay!!!
My main tip is one that I’m sure everyone knows and that is - be as detailed as you can about what’s in each box. That way, there’s no guessing about what is in there, or where it goes. When we moved into our first home a year ago, I specified what was in each box and how many and it made unpacking so much easier.

I love tea! I actually have a huge drawer full of tea and a tea station with more tea, cups, a teapot, honey, etc. Plus we have a hot cocoa station. In the fall, winter & early spring my son & I have a nightly tea time, it's so relaxing.
Blessed! Everything I finish a clean up, I look around my little home and feel so grateful to live in such good circumstances. Love your show!

I just moved myself from California to Illinois and I had so much stuff as well. I am one though that cannot live out of boxes for more then a couple of days. The day I finally got my stuff from the movers I unpacked everything except for 15 boxes and put it all away that day. By that weekend I was completely finished. Now the fun part is re-organizing things and figuring out what else I need now that I am in a larger place.

😂😂 All three of you sat at the same time. Perfect timing. The couches look great. Yes I’d pull them away from the walls and anchor them with a rug. For chairs maybe a cream colored twill recliner. I like the slim profile of nursery chairs and they recline. 🤷🏼♀️
The couches are beautiful! Definitely pull them away from the walls. And a big square coffee table would look really good. Maybe if you could even find a square dining table and cut down or change the legs. Whatever you choose will be lovely. So happy to see y’all enjoying your new home. ❤️
My last move I put all decorative objects and pictures, rugs etc in a spare bedroom. I unpacked the rooms one at a time and then when I started decorating I could just go in that room and look around as if it were a shop. When I was done decorating I gave most of what was in that room to charity or sold it on Facebook.

First let me say your huge new house is gorgeous and I love watching your excitement. I would suggest you have all the boys bunk together in one room while you paint the other bedrooms while they are empty thus avoiding moving furniture and belongings around. If you don’t have typical butlers pantry items such as fine china, crystal, silver, holiday dishes, linens etc. that would be used in the formal dining room might I suggest you utilize it as your daily food pantry? Use the pantry to house your appliances and bulk pantry items, mops, brooms, vacuums, etc.and overflow? I think it would be more convenient for you. Good luck with your new adventure and thank you for sharing with us. You and your family are a joy to watch as well as the pets. Your fur daughter looked adorable in her bows.
Emma is just gorgeous in her little bows. So cute. I bet she enjoyed her spa day. I'm taking note of your tips for when we move into our brand new home at the end of July. I'm sure it's overwhelming at first. I'm so glad to see that you donate your boxes to someone else. I don't buy my boxes, I go out on the night before recycling comes when people put out their boxes in their recycling bins. I found that diaper boxes are the best because they aren't too big so you can't make them too heavy plus they have built-in handles which is nice.

Felt pad sisters! I love those things I use them on everything! 😂. They work really good on frames to even them out or not leave scuffs on the walls too! I also unpack the kitchen first while my husband puts the beds together. As long as we have those things done by the end of the first day, i’m happy!

My unpacking tip is get your bed setup and made up first and then proceed to other rooms. That way you’re prepared when you run out of steam.
Watching this from my kitchen full of boxes! I just moved today and I am alone to unbox everything. Your tips are really helpful and it's motivating to watch someone else do it! :)
Break down those boxes as you empty them. I keep the largest box whole & then break down the others and place into that box. When it gets full keep another whole etc etc. I’ve found you can easily scoot the full box out to the curb and someone will usually stop & grab them. New place is looking great and I can’t wait to see it done.
New place to live and new style of furniture, how exciting! My vote is for gray reclining wingback chairs. Enjoy whatever you decide. Thanks again for sharing.

I always feel better getting the kitchen and bathroom done first everything else falls into place. I love the couches. When we move I'm thinking a sectional in the family room because it's where we will spend most of our time. But it's coming along and looks great.
