As someone who has kept weight off for over 6 years, you’re both right. There will probably always be certain foods that are harder to enjoy in a measured way. For me, it’s cheese it’z and cereal. I still cannot enjoy cheese itz or cereal in a normal quantity so they are a no go unless it’s a controlled quantity (like a mini bag). At the start I had to completely slash a lot of things from my life but with time and introducing things here and there, I find less and less foods trigger me to over consume. You pick your battles. At the start it might be something you have to completely cut out but it may not always be that way. It just takes time. At the start I ONLY allowed myself to eat food at my dining room table because eating anywhere else lead to bad habits of over consumption. Some aspects of that still stick (I don’t eat in my bedroom at all) but now I can enjoy food on the couch with no issue. It’s really so individual you have to find the areas where you personally need to restrict and areas where you can give.
This was a really good episode. I look forward to more of these. Also sounds like Danny is making some good progress with his trainer. I agree restricting yourself does often lead to overeating or going off the rails. Moderation is key. You guys are so fun. I loved this episode! Can’t wait for more. My biggest win today was getting in my best time for a 5k since I started running last year. I just started back running 5 weeks ago. And almost 3 months ago had surgery for a hysterectomy. I’m doing a 8k race in June. I’d love to see you talk about mental health. Running saved me on my weightloss journey. I was at low period in my mental health before hand. But now I tell people it’s my therapy. I’d love to talk more about mental health relating it to fitness and weight loss if I ever made a video for your show. Keep up the great work!
Danny and Tony - this episode was very helpful and relatable. I’m 341lbs and finally got a trainer to help with my nutrition two weeks ago. I lost 4 pounds over the two weeks and did well on nutrition but completely fell off the bandwagon last 3 days just because I got very stressed at work and just binged. Now I am feeling depressed as it took me two years to get this trainer and start tracking; but after listening to this episode I’m going to just get back on it from tomorrow. I am very grateful to you Tony for doing this podcast and speaking so openly about everything. I don’t feel alone and feel that you understand my struggles. Thank you and hoping your move goes smoothly. Danny thank you for being such a centered and jolly person. You really inspired me to keep going with your anecdote about your first week. Have a happy birthday! #TeamHydration #HydroFlaskIsOverrated😂
Hydration is the key I carry a yeti gallon but I use it to fill my bottle so I know that I hit a gallon a day. Big wins was the OC 5k and scheduling my next race and staying on my diet on vacation
I got a question for you guys, I lost 80 pounds and kept it off after 3y and now building muscle around 16% bodyfat 33y old. do you guys think not tracking your food intake(weighting everything) after the weight loss is the main reason for gaining back the weight? if you keep weighting everything, you cant lie to yourself or let yourself go I think.
Tony you know I've been struggling since October, and I haven't been black and white with myself like I have been in the past. I'm KILLING it with the RELENTLESS 100 EXCEPT THE CALORIES! I have to kick myself out of the moderation mindset. I know that I can maintain like a boss, so that's nice. But maintaining isn't my goal. I wanna lose 40 fkn lbs and just get it done. It's all mental, I know that these foods are going to taste great for a few seconds, and then I'll be disappointed with myself. Right now my brain tells me I don't care. I do. But It doesn't help me in the moment. #blackandwhite #bingethefocusfightfinishpodcast Danny, I am about to make a playlist so that I can listen in order and just let it go, bingefest coming!!
Hey fatt daddies..😜 I loved hearing both perspectives. For me personally, to actually get the weight off. I have to be black and white, all in.. balls to the wall. Otherwise, I repeat gaining and losing the same 10lbs. Once I get to my somewhat happy spot, that's when I can try and find balance. Lose and gain 5lbs maintaining. Did a good job maintaining my weight for years. Thought i controlled binge eating. Then i was dx w/ metastatic colon cancer 2 years ago. Life or death eating extremely clean. But last 4 months it's been a struggle gaining 20lbs because of surgeries and chemo. Caught a big case of the "Fuck Its".. trying to find peace within myself to fight again.
@@Dannymabley thanks mate. As of yesterday (Friday) I was about 52,000 steps cover my target. I need to average 32,260 steps a day this month to do the million by the end of the month. I’m well on target to smash that figure. I’m writing this on the treadmill at the gym now. I’m here at 3.45am everyday to get the bulk of my steps in. Will also be taking my dogs for a walk this afternoon. From Monday to Friday I also train in the afternoon, but at weekends I only do one workout. Looking forward to your regular podcast every month with Tony.
You guys. This podcast resonates so damn much. Im gonna come back to this one a few times. Quit bullying Danny about the water 😂😂😂 I swear when it's in your line of site, it's easier to drink! When I just have a 32oz bottle I fill it up twice. Which is better than nothing, but I'd like to drink more. When I have a gallon Jug filled, and I see it, Its just easier.
So excited for this series and the impact it will have not only on us but others as well. Let’s do this Tony! 💪💯
I don't know how I didn't know about you until Tony brought you on, but I'm here for it 💪💪💪 Let's get it!!

Another great podcast. My big win this week, averaging over 40,900 steps a day. Mark from the UK #1millionstepsinMay
Sheesh! That’s wicked Mark. Great job
