    Hi Max ... I'm a bit late to the party on this one.
    After fitting the seat under the rear tabs and getting the front tab in its slot, I discovered by chance that giving the front of the seat a firm thump right above the tab seats the tab correctly and the holes line up perfectly. Works every time with no elbow effort!
    Cheers from sunny Andalucía

    Just installed those bolts. It does make the seat easier to install. It's easier, it seems to me, to line up the bolt holes. Thank for coming up with this Max. Keep them coming!

    Max, I had referred my good friend Tom Dommel for a front end upgrade on his white Gold Wing Tour DCT, which you accomplished for him. He recently decided to trike his Wing and he has been thrilled with the ride! This wasn't his first GW trike but it was the first with the Traxxion Dynamics front end and he's been extremely pleased with the results! Kudos! I enjoy helping him spend his money when the results are positive. Thanks!

    At about 5:35 you start the cut off. I wonder, if you'd chosen to cut half of the tab off first, and tried to put the seat on, if you'd have found enough of an improvement. You chose the full removal method, and you sound satisfied. Good Riding!

    The seat bolts are a great solution to this problem. I would like to recommend using a magnetic Hex Key to remove and install the bolts so there is less chance they will be lost inside the GW. For example, Home Depot has the following set: Large 2 mm - 19 mm Metric Ball End Magnetic Hex Key Set (13-Piece)
    Model# 887

  • @40fastback

    I really love your bolt idea and wish to order these but I noticed they are not tapered. Is there any plans to do that?

    • @Traxxion
      @Traxxion  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, as it's not necessary. The older bike there were some bolts that had a taper, but it was because they were going through a backrest bracket, and then through long long spacers and the seat didn't line up well.
      This seat you can look right in the hole and see that it's lined up.
      There's thousands of bolts on a Goldwing, none have a taper. :)

    • @40fastback
      @40fastback 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Traxxion Thanks i will order them now...when are you going to come up with something on the honda backrest? It needs to come forward a 1/2 inch and looking at the back the swing plate could add a block of aluminum but probably need 4 bolts instead of 2. The original's to to bolt seat to and the others to mount to the back plate.

    • @Traxxion
      @Traxxion  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@40fastback I haven't heard any complaints about this before. Are you a shorter rider? Do you have the Helibar riser kit on your bike yet?

    • @40fastback
      @40fastback 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Traxxion I'm 6'2 with a 35 inseam and if you really look at the difference of the aftermarket backrest they are further up. There actually is alot of discussion about the 'STOCK" backrest to far back. It feels fine if I use the hwy pegs but otherwise its to far back. I know about the Helibar and I did sit on a bike that had the conversion but it also had a showchrome backrest that its lip was out about half inch. looking at the stock one you could CNC an aluminum block that would give it enough kick out to be effective but still have the styling that everyone loves. I looked it and what I see is 4 bolt holes. It would work and still pivot.

  • @Bass.Player

    Those bolts would be the thing to have if the bushings were gone. It looks like it would be hard to keep a separate bushing locked in that hole. I like the bolt idea...

  • @carvama1
    @carvama1 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I've removed my seat several times with your bolts and they work great. It's easier to see when the bolt holes line up. While I love the stainless it would have been nice if the bolts were magnetic. I dropped one into the bike one time because it slipped off the allen wrench. Otherwise, well worth the money.

    • @Traxxion
      @Traxxion  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hey Max, I love your channel and you are a wonderful guy to detect and fix all these Gold Wing probs, which is amazing. Unfortunately I have my Wing 2019 here in Belgium and am stuck with standard dealerships who know nothing about all the potential probs and fixes you presented. If I could, I would ride up to your shop tomorrow. But, may I suggest, that you apply with the Boeing Co to fix the 737 Max asap, because it seems they cannot get their things together for a long time and lose mils of dollars every day... You are needed there!

    Thanks for the seat video. I cut tabs a few months ago and bought your bolts.
    On another issue, a dealership service manager here tells me the DCT doesn't have a starter solenoid. instead it has a combined starter-alternator called IGS. Are you aware of such a thing.
    Anyway my bike doesn't start. I don't know what is wrong.

    • @lance3613
      @lance3613 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Did YOU turn it to "on" or fill it with gas? 😁
      ISG:
      In another weight-saving measure, all Gold Wing and Gold Wing Tour models feature integrated starter generator Systems (ISG), which integrates generators and starter motor functions into one component. This incorporation was able to achieve a 5.3 lb (2.4 kg) weight savings for the removal of wiring of starter motors and starter systems. The system reduces noise at startup.
