It's clear that Celestia didn't TRULY learn her lesson, until she was forced to banish Luna to the moon for 1,000 years. THEN she knew loss, and how much she truly loved her sister, though she didn't make her feel appreciated at first. Well, as it says in another song I know, "Sometimes pain's the only way that we can learn". I know that all too well, sometimes. If I hadn't gone through the pain of 2 years worth of unemployment, I would never have learned that I was MEANT to become a cashier!
This reminds me of 26 years ago when I was 3 and I nocked down a bee 🐝hive and had to run 🏃♀️for my life with my big brother who was 4 at the time because mom couldn't come help us because she is deadly allergic to bees wasps and hornets good thing I was already walking and talking at that age

I have a theory that princess celestia used to be selfish back in her days.
She always had some arrogance to her though, though it is subtle, if not kept in check.
