Nice how he gets close to an Aussie accent then reverts back to his own accent!
That's the first time I've heard him speak this way. He sounded very Aussie. I love Bill, but it was very annoying.
Some people can't help picking up the accents around them. I do it too, I guess he's been in Australia for a little while at this point!
I agree. Sometimes it just shows how open someone is to their environment. He does have a keen ear, after all.
As a dual UK/Aussie citizen I find myself reverting to the Australian accent whenever I meet or speak to my Australian mates. And here in London, there are so many Australians that the accent has become part of the language landscape. I think it's rather flattering when Bill naturally takes on the accent. As for our Government, Liz Truss has been in power for five minutes and we're even more stuffed - not looking good but what do you expect from a woman named after a gentleman's support garment :-)
I think it's a sign of emotional intelligence that you begin to mirror those around you.

My most favourite comedian.......he's ultra talented, super intelligent, and never resorts to foul language or weird, offensive perversity for a laugh, which (in my opinion) many mediocre comedians do. This will be the 3rd show of his I am privileged to see......I love that he comes to Canberra, as many performers stick to the big cities in Oz and don't bother to come here
I don't know how long he has been down under for but there's a slight Aussie accent going on there with Bill!
In 2012 I was visiting my son, who was working there, got tickets for Bill Bailey and he was great. Nice theatre too!

Bill Bailey is fantastic but he must be hard up if he is on a show that no-one watches in Australia because it's utterly terrible and full of presenters that are cast offs from other shows.

he finished his anecdote, the crowd laughed, and then she cued up her pre written question. It's how interviews work. Plus they only have a varying amount of 5-10 mins per person among the rest of the 40 ish minute news panel show.
My old ex neighbour since I have moved now well he bloody loves this show. Bill Bailey is a legend of course. Very funny and entertaining. He is also on an Australian and New Zealand show or was. Can't recall the name of it now but I think you may find it on channel 2 possibly ? The ABC if I am right. A comedy panel show. Competition between Australia and New Zealand with some local comedians. He hosts the show. You can tell I watch way to much tv. I saw it one night oh months ago damn it........

No probs D . One accent gave birth to the other so there can be a crossover . But the Aus vowel sound is different and there's a nasal thing too .
I've worked with and employed dozens of Aussies when your kids used to travel the world , great attitudes , every one of them .
