What is the stat priority for the wizard right now. Considering the nerfs on will should I try to focus on additional magical and true magical instead I’m also not really sure what is the difference between all these magical damage stats. I understand magical power is equal to will but what about true and additional do they give you more damage than will? If so by how much.
True/magical dmg are the best. Magical power is not even close I think it’s like 0,3 dmg. Always stack flat dmg you can get 11+ ( cloak hat rings pendant)

Love your videos man, i love people who give exposure to wizard as a class, but instead of showing a clip of that slow barbarian which most people could honestly kill you should probably make a clip about how to kill a barbarian who has high movement speed as those are much much harder do deal with, great videos as always
Thanks man appreciate it. In high ranks I see no barbarian to be honest it’s hard to find clips. Barbarian thrives in low ranks cuz people don’t know how to counter it. To give you a short answer, high move speed character are tough to hit but I bait them into narrow room or tunnel where they don’t have a lot of room for movement and it works most of the time. Doorway, underground tunnel.
@@cngblade Yeah I agree with u on that, im a high ranking player as well so I just thought u should make a video for newer players so they could learn how to deal with those situations, although theres really no way to get good on wizard unless u spend a couple hundred hours on it(ps high ranking, but not this wipe since i find it boring and my rank got reset twice due to a bug that keeps happening xd, u may remember a player named defbad )
I was learning wiz before they nerfed the class. Was probably mid skill.. decent. I stopped playing after the nerf, because low gear wiz became miserable, and sometimes I liked running low gear, and building myself up. When I die I don’t want to sit in trade chat forever getting re-geared
As a wiz main, I still feel this way
I experienced many Wizard nerfs but I never let the class go, been playing only that for months and I still find room of improvements. Re gearing is absolutely boring.
I usually wait for the guy in trade that killed me and buy everything back, 9/10 it works and it saves me so much time.
And when you don’t die that much no need to stay in trade 🙂
@@cngblade Makes sense, there's going to be some die-hard wizard players. Not my style. If a class changes in a way I don't want, then I just play another class I like. I'm not amazing at any class, but I'm competent at all besides Bard, which doesn't interest me.
I recommend using your slow spell more against classes that are faster than you(or classes that have movespeed abilities such as rage or sprint). If you slow them before they attempt to close distance you will not miss as much spells and them being able to close the distance will be a lot more difficult. Also, don't try to ice bolt or magic missile a fighter or any class with a shield(that isn't buckler). Slow + Lightning Strike works wonders against fighters and deals the most dps out of any spell you have, especially when magic missile doesn't have impact power anymore. When I play against other players I usually try to lure them back to a body for an easy chain lightning play especially if they are a ranger or a class that relies on range, makes it where you don't have to peek them to deal damage and you can also just rush them afterwards to finish them off. Also for deciding between fireball or lightning strike you want to identify if they are using a ranged weapon or utility item(throwing axes, bows, spellbook, etc). If you are close enough where your opponent can close the distance while you cast fireball than use lightning strike, but distance doesn't matter if they have a ranged weapon/utility item out(fireball knockback makes them whiff their shot, happens a lot). Only time you should use lightning strike against ranged players is if you are peeking out from cover as fireball has a large hitbox which can requires you to peek out further to cast it. Also when your opponent is running away from you fireball should always be prioritized over lightning strike no matter if they have a melee out or not. I also see you casting lightning strike when your opponent is very close to you, at that point ice bolt would be a lot better to use due to faster cast time and it being a lot easier to hit due to the big hitbox your opponent has once he is that close. Just wanted to point out some things that I didn't see you doing or I feel like could use some improvement. There is always room to improve in this game as wizard and you are one of the better ones I've seen on TH-cam.
Man appreciate the long comments man, you got many points right. Wizard 🧙♀️ has so many possibilities you can achieve so much. I think anyone can have his own play style. I don’like going for slow especially against barbarian cuz they can dodge it easily. I prefer using LS and zoning them away even if I miss I gain distance. Magic missile is purely for zoning since shield can block all of them.
Close range ice bolt is good choice but you can miss again. Ls is hard to miss and can’t be blocked. and it deals more dmg
@@cngblade Play how you want, the best wizards learn from their own mistakes and choose their own way of playing. Only giving my own opinions on what I believe could be improved. For example, 6:04, I believe that fireballing while your opponent was throwing francisca axes(to mess up his shot with fireball knockback) and slow + lightning strike once he pulls out his melee and is close enough to try to close the distance would be a better play in this situation, would've saved you a lot of spells here. I always clip my fights to see if any improvement can be made, most of the time, no matter if I win or lose I see a flaw I made, whether that be positioning, decision making, or spell usage. Like I said in my comment above, ice bolt is a good choice if your opponent doesn't have a shield, I only use ice bolt if my opponent is w-keying and is close enough where lightning strike wouldn't be as effective for saving myself from damage, ice bolts hit most of the time due to your opponent being very close. In my opinion, there are parts of fights where you want to choose the most effective spell based off the advantages it gives you other than DPS, sure icebolt doesn't deal the most DPS in that situation but you can cast faster making it where you can slow your opponent faster and apply distance faster saving you taking damage. I'm sure you've had moments where you cast lightning strike and you get hit by melee while casting it. In my opinion slow is a lot easier to cast than lightning strike due to slow being hitscan, lightning strike is delayed meaning it deals damage some time after you cast it making it where your opponents can dodge it a lot easier, same can't be said for hitscan(a good tip for hitting hitscan spells is to look at your crosshair more). Slow + lightning strike is pretty much impossible to dodge though. If you have anymore thoughts, please share them. Anyways, was fun chatting, good luck in your games.

However you can miss, I am not taking the 20% chance of missing slow and dying.
Lighting strike is a no miss, it works 100% of the time. You hit he dies you don’t’ hit you don’t die. It’s a win win situation. If he is going close melee range and I miss slow I am dead.
Slow is only really good in team, you slow then your allies can hit him while he is slowed. In solo when you slow someone you need to recast another spell to do dmg. In my play style I need fight to end in 10 secs max so I don’t get third partied. Most class die to 2 spells and it worked for me so far.
I am someone that watch every single game I play + when I edit my videos I look for every details of improvements.
I am trying to use ice bolt more it seems to be very effective when it’s mid range and the enemy is out of range of zap. But it’s not even close to lighting strike. The spell has been nerfed in damage and 40% radius for a reason. Because it’s broken
@cngblade Lightning strike use to be the easiest spell to hit until recent changes. I understand how you look at fights, wanting to dps them as quickly as possible. But sometimes using slow will guarantee you the kill quicker. Slow + lightning strike is always guaranteed damage. But I do disagree with your outlook on lightning strike, I'll give you my reason why: Lightning strike does slow your opponent once hit making it pretty much impossible to close distance for the brief slow, but the problem is cast time and being able to hit the spell(due to the recent radius change). If your opponent is faster than you are(such as bard, agility fighter, barb, rogue, etc) they can close the distance and land a hit before or once you cast lightning strike(in the range that lightning strike is effective), to counteract this you can either try to gain more distance and use other spells, or use slow + lightning strike/icebolt/fireball/mm. Slow guarantees you a hit. If you are fighting a faster class missing slow is pretty much the same as using another damage spell instead(if you're within lightning strike range). But like I said above, you usually cast slow when they haven't tried to close the distance yet to pre-emptively stop their rush. If they're rushing you and they are faster than you and you didn't cast slow beforehand to pre-emptively stop their rush, then invis, ice bolt or lightning strike(use either depending on if they have a shield or not) is your only option. I do agree with ice bolt also being a good spell for mid range, thinking of zap as a finisher spell, I see ice bolt being similar to zap except further range(or if you can't hit fireball in time). I do not see magic missile being that great for zoning against someone with a shield though, you have to stand still to cast and your opponent can still orbit around you to dodge the missiles(pretty much same distance from you just in a different spot) or move forward while blocking(taking minimal to no damage while closing distance).
It’s almost impossible to do anything against a geared wizard with all the shit they are throwing at you and only 2 need to land to kill you

Well, I believe if you look at the stats, Wizards probably die the most. It just at a certain skill ceiling, our kit is so complete that we can avoid most of them.

If you got hit at 2:40 you would've been barbarian food. That's the problem with wizard. They have no defensives with invis being nerfed and being forced into 2 spell memories. Also where are the clips of you fighting archer? This video is really good but also misleading in some ways.

Start by learning maps, mobs and their attack pattern. Then for PVP, what other classes do, what yours can do. And most importantly practice, AND DIE A LOT🥲

I play a lot of white lobby wiz. My best advice is staff/crossbow only because you need the damage. Only spell book if you find green or better. You have slow casting speed so spacing is even more important. Open with offensive spell then immediately get ready for them to charge you and play def by using invis or slow. You match their gap closing with one of those spells. If you're fighting anyone with a bow just don't peak them if you can. They have all the advantage. You want to either pull them out of their room into yours or enter their room. Use invis to close gap and hope you dodge. Honestly it's such a up hill battle just don't take the fight unless you have to.
Agreed, staff is really strong early on, a white staff can reach 8 magic dmg. Thanks for the advice 👍
You gonna get us nerfed again lol! Keep up the good plays, even if you choke missing most of your spells, your positioning completely outplayed that fighter.
Hey! I find your videos about dealing with particular classes very helpful, there is something else that I'm interested in tho. When playing wizard with two spell memories, is it necessary to bring campfires so you can regenerate your spells quickly?
I bring 1 campfire, 1 surgical kit it’s enough for me

What's your keyboard layout? Your left skill being bound to 'A' makes me wonder what hotkeys you use and if there's any particular reason for it.
It’s a French keyboard so the keybinds are fucked up a bit but it’s the default settings nothing changed don’t worry

How do I deal with ranger, rouges, crossbow fighters?
Hey I made a full video for rogue on my channel, fighters you just need to push them with invis and hide from their crossbow shot. It takes them a lot of time to reload you need to punish them in that time frame.
For ranger most of time it’s to avoid fighting unless you have a big advantage over them, gear, position third party

sheesh, rn i’m touching top 500 wizard nd i thought i was good😭 usually run full vigor/magic dam or pen sets so my spacing is awful cause of slow movement speed. might have to try this

Ranger you avoid the fight unless you are in the following position :
- you can get close enough to zap him
- you third party him
- you out gear him and have blue potion

I recommend going goblin cave or ruins for solo it’s easier to gain AP
cryps was never ment to be played solo, the amount of mobs and the spacing betweem spawns creates issues. poor dev decision
