Well, guess what! There will be even more notable QBs changing teams over these next couple of years. But if certain teams handle business wisely, they’ll pay their star quarterbacks ASAP rather than risk losing them down the road.
Here are five NFL quarterbacks who need to be extended ASAP, and five who need to be traded.

1) uncertainty about Aaron rodgers retiring
2) being closer to family on the west coast
3) liking the idea of playing with his college QB, Carr
Sure the Packers offered him more money, but it was really Rodgers indecisiveness that pushed Adams away

Carr has a no trade clause in his contract so he'll probably end up getting cut

Geno Smith extended
As a Seahawks fan we need somebody young but can go far neither of which is geno smith
I say y’all should grab Levis or AR in the draft then build up the defense around Geno, then trade him at high value and let the project guy whose been sitting take the reins.
@BROK bro you have to admit as a prospect AR is much better. He is just a more physically gifted qb who is definitely less experienced, but also went up against more talented defenses. I think Duggan is a very good college qb and could maybe make it in the nfl, but if you let both him and AD sit behind Geno for two or three years with good coaching, AR ends up the much better qb. Duggan is a more complete guy, but I doubt he is taken above the 4th round unless he wins the cfp, which also means he won’t start immediately. I think he could be like a Mike White type guy.

@@jasonforpresident5678 Seahawks need Gardner Minshew. Plus Minshew played at Washington State. An efficient QB who can go 18 of 25 200 yards and rush 30 to 50 more. Who is Seahawks OC now? Minshew seems like a Pete Carroll guy
If I were owner/GM in Seattle, I'd be looking to trade Geno Smith to the Jets or Titans for a first round pick. He's proved this year that he can be counted on to lead a team, and with the proper supporting cast around him, he can take a team to the next level. If I were in New England, this would be a potential shop around year for Mac Jones. Zappe also showed that he can lead a team
He only has a one year contract so will be an UFA
The problem with a Carr trade is that Adams will want to be traded to where ever his best friend / teammate goes

The Chargers have had Hadl, Fouts, Rivers and now Herbert, yet have only been to one SB in their history (1995) and lost. As a Jets fan since Heidi, no team should have that many franchise QBs. At least the Jets won their only SB appearance with their only franchise QB. I was 15 at the time. (sigh)
As a Ravens fan, I hate to say this but Lamar has played his last snap as a Raven. Don’t know where our franchise will go after this but we have won it all with a lot less so I still have hope for our future.

He's already starting to get injured and it's going to keep piling up over the years, happens to nearly every Running QB at some point.
Plus he hasn't developed into a Great to Elite Passer. The list of Running QBs winning Super Bowl looks very bleak right now

If the raiders dont keep carr and tag jacobs we will be in contention for those top picks for the next decade. The defense needs too much help to trade carr right now. In 2016 when we could have got a 2nd round pick for carr and picked up a franchise qb off the streets .. Different story. But jack del Rios team is now mostly gone: now we only have 5 good players on the roster, and carr is one of them

Lamar is injured 3-4 games every season. Sometimes the best ability is availability. To play QB long term in this league you need to be able to throw from the pocket. Running QB’s usually don’t last past 30 unless they significantly improve their pass game which rarely happens. If Danny Dimes was on the other New York team he’d be a potential pro bowl caliber player. He’s throwing to an
NFL practice squad and he doesn’t turn the ball over. Whatever QB you bring in is not going to do much better until they sure up the O-Line and get real offensive weapons.

Burrow is the type of player to take less money so he can keep great pieces around him.

Lamar Jackson should’ve got an extension in the 2021 Offseason.
Lamar's career is going to mimic Cam Newton. He's not smart enough to go out of bound and not take the big hits. Trade him away while he still have value with team that have high draft picks.
Rodgers wouldn't go to TB to be immediately compared to Brady. Jets and SF are the only real contenders here, with the Jets being my front-runner. But Rodgers had the chance to go last year and didn't, so I think he'll retire a Packer at some point.

I'm still surprised about why the Jets drafted Zach Wilson, or why he was even a top pick, he played at BYU which is a team that doesn't play many good teams, and plus his biggest game against Coastal Carolina, he played bad.
Ok although all of this is true, Zach Wilson was drafted in 2021. it is only his second year. Give him the same time that we gave Tua or Hurts. they both were drafted in 2020 and both played awful last season.

It’s the same thing they didn’t to Gabbert back in 2011. He was considered a third rounded but once we knew for sure Luck was going to stay his final year at school they pushed Gabbert up. While I think zac isn’t as bad as his stats. The kid can’t go through progress and the game is too fast for him. His needs a FULL off-season and next year wherever he lands will tell if he’s king for this league

With regards to my Titans and Tannehill, we've got larger issues than just needing a QB upgrade. Our offensive line is the worst in the league in run and pass blocking with the wide receiver corps not too far behind in quality or lack thereof. Tom Brady is struggling without his offensive line, and Derek Carr isn't really a significant upgrade. Jimmy's playing with arguably the most stacked offensive supporting cast in the NFL as of right now. There's really no reason to pursue a vet QB with the cap crunch we're already in.
The only viable successor is a young gun like the aforementioned Malik Willis or a 2024 draft pick, clear up cap space and maybe he'll thrive.

@@MossedProdz133 Exactly. I'll throw in Chig Okonkwo as an emerging rookie TE with his 384 yards on 26 receptions (only 38 targets this season), but that's about it for weapons.
However, on the subject of the line, we have no left tackle or guard, our center may retire, our right guard's inconsistent, our right tackle's just a rookie. We're dead last in run blocking and bottom 5 in pass block win rate.

As a Packers fan the best option is to trade Roger’s and give Love a shot. He looked great against the Eagles in the 4th quarter. Rogers hasn’t been great at all this year.

Don't know about Rodgers coming to San Fran. Jimmy G will definitely be traded and Trey Lance will probably get one last chance to prove himself. But then again, Brock Purdy is starting to look like the second coming of Joe Montana or Steve Young. He sure ain't irrelevant anymore.
