  • One of the worlds most iconic landmarks - Cristo Redentor (Christ the Redeemer) monument in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. I'm going to show you how to get there from the city centre using the Trem do Corcovado funicular railway all the way from Cosme Velho to the Corcovado summit.
    This railway is by far the most secnic way to do it and I'll take you on board as we travel up 30% inclines in places, past the stations en route, the jungle landscape of the Tijuca National Park and, what would normally be, some fantastic views as we near the summit. Once we get there, we'll go on up to the monument itself and see what we can see from the top. It truly is a must-do attraction when visiting Rio.
    Thanks as always guys for taking the time to watch my videos. All likes, comments, subs are massively appreciated and it really encourages me to make more content for you all to enjoy.
    Cheers for now.
    Mark

    Wow thanks for taking me somewhere I'll probably never see, awesome stuff Mark. And I think I'd also happily sacrifice some view for a quieter trip!

      I never thought it was somewhere I’d ever visit too, but I went on some expiring air miles when transatlantic flights were still down to come home to the UK. Was definitely worth it and somewhere I want to visit again. Went on my own and felt safe. The food is ridiculously good too.

      Cheers Duncan, yep I can imagine it's rammed on decent days. It was low season though and tbh, when I did get a good day I went up Sugar Loaf and I was surprised how quiet that was. Amazing views from there too which kind of made up for it a bit.

    Seems to be a well visited place. I'd love to ride such a rack railway, even though I have tried some of these in Europe such as the one from.Como and Brunate.
    And indeed, when people barely speak any English it can get a bit worrysome

    Amazing video but just a quick question how much was the price of the train ticket in gbp and what was the top speed of the train in mph?

    • @LetsMakeaTrip
      @LetsMakeaTrip  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Cheers mate. If you type ‘currency converter’ into Google, it will do the maths for you. I normally display this so it was interesting to find you noticed when I didn’t! You can do the same in google by typing ‘km’s to miles’ or something similar. In this instance it was easier to say 15 & 25 km/h than 9.32 & 15.53 mph! But I get the general point you’re making 😊
