I live in Cebu 3 years now. When I got here in 2018 I rented a Room at *THE ISLAND STAY HOTEL for 1 week and started walking around asking people about apartments for Rent. Within 3 days I found a nice 2 bedroom apartment in the Subdivision of FABRO HILLS ( across the street from the New Bridge going into Mandaue and not far from the Airport ) for 10,000 pesos. Today in 2022 I live up North in very nice 3 bedroom house in the Province of Balamban, Brgy. Pondol. *I am on a $1,500 usd. MONTHLY BUDGET... AND BELIEVE ME "I LIVE LIKE A KING" !!! -> 63 year old N.Y.C. 🇵🇷 BRONX BOY, U.S. ARMY RETIRED...
I was fine in a 26 meter place in Thailand. Sure bigger is nicer but if on a smaller budget and able to get your rent way down you can spend the money on experiences you like doing. $1000 rent in the US> $100 in the PI, 400 dollar car payment> $1200 scooter outright in the PI. Might be a small place but a guy on a say $1500 budget gets his freedom back. Coffee shops, eating out, local travel, etc. All within reach due to lowering the big overhead items.
I dont care about high end switches….. what about where would you fit a stove and refrigerator? Absolutely no storage either. It’s great for $100.00 though
hi sir i really appreciate the work you are doing.. hats off to you for these efforts. tell me ! could you give the plan so that I can keep it carefully for next year so that I can show it to my engineer?
I don't get some of you vloggers. How can you show an apartment and throughout the whole thing, and not mention which city or even the country? Mind boggling. I take it you are in The Philippines from your handle.
These will all be long gone by the time I get to the Philippines so please continue to look for this type of apartments. One of these would be a perfect for a few months while getting situated and learning the country.
A little tight but not bad. Kitchen area.needs some cabinets. How's the general area. Is it close to shopping? Does it have transportation within walking distance? Any crime issues? And last but not least do the roosters sing, lol. It really looks nice, great job😀
Wow that is SO inexpensive. It's small, sure, but if you're on a $1500-$2000 budget that sure gives you a lot of money back for whatever else you want or need to do. Great video. Thank you for showing it to us.
Thank you so much for the update. I was wondering about the upstairs. I guess the shower is cold water only but then there’s probably no such thing as cold tap water in the Philippines lol. Now that Scoot Airlines has started up again in Australia I’m getting itchy feet and might make that leap that I’ve been dreaming of.
Nice and the plugs are 3 prong grounded plugs, too. Some places I see only have the 2 prong plugs. You can't beat the price either. I'd go for one of the furnished units; that way, I won't have to worry about furniture when I have to move. So you are responsible for installing the a/c unit?
what?... Hundred bucks a month! wtf am I doing here in Uhmerika... my monthly apartment here cost over a year there! LOL .... WTF! I'M GOING BACK HOME!
Very interested in these accommodation videos. Will be trying the Philippines out in 29 months & 23 days. Would appreciate even more of these. Thank you!
super nice place for under 200. Its sad that Philippines is like South Africa where everyone has to have bars on their windows and gates around their houses.
Hi Steven, those places look great, if I was planning on coming over anytime soon I would consider them. Thanks for the video. Take care of yourself and your family. Stay safe and healthy plus have fun.
So neat and clean apartment concept design, the choosing floor and wall tiles, the kitchen tiles, black compliments the interior colors... The design, the front door, so perfect for me! The color you choose for exterior so wow factor✔️ I rate this, 9 out of 10✔️
I’ve got the land and thinking to build a apartment, just not sure how much capital I need. I still have 20 years before I retire. I love passive income
Someplace like that would be a great place to rent just to have somewhere to dump your suitcases. If you wanted to travel you could leave your clothes and stuff there put on a backpack get on your scooter and go. Right now I’m thinking Valencia But I plan to travel around before I settle down anywhere.
The quality of this place actually seems superior to many more expensive (and bigger) places. While I would like some more space, I think I could be happy here for a while.
it's a western toilet not an American toilet .. but most Americans are America-centric .. that's why Steve calls it an American toilet .. not a dig at Steve btw .. seems a great guy .. it's just your perspective if you're raised in American culture ..
Well you can't be in 2 places at the same time, right? If you're taking a shower then you'll not mind if the toilet bowl get wet, cause you're taking a shower! That said, it's one of my pet hates when the CR floor is wet, however if they've got the floor leveled correctly it should drain quickly and dry up with the heat I guess.

If there are any of these apartments still available in early April, I’d surely be interested. They look perfect for a single guy.
For a single new arrival man , who is looking for somewhere to stay while he finds his feet . They are perfect
I dont care about high end switches….. what about where would you fit a stove and refrigerator? Absolutely no storage either. It’s great for $100.00 though
That be perfect for me
hi sir i really appreciate the work you are doing.. hats off to you for these efforts. tell me ! could you give the plan so that I can keep it carefully for next year so that I can show it to my engineer?
Fans are 100 bucks?? Yikes..lol
That's an insane price. & No Roosters included. BARGAIN !!
New rustic. No a/c though. Not for me.
And that view is depressing
I don't get some of you vloggers. How can you show an apartment and throughout the whole thing, and not mention which city or even the country? Mind boggling. I take it you are in The Philippines from your handle.
The city is in the Name of the video and this is a Philippine Information Channel……..🤷🏼♂️. It’s not Rocket Science
These will all be long gone by the time I get to the Philippines so please continue to look for this type of apartments. One of these would be a perfect for a few months while getting situated and learning the country.
I would rent 2 apartments side by side make living room the whole kitchen and bedroom the dinning room & next door would be my living room & bedroom
Yeah but your nabiours will be hard to live around
A little tight but not bad. Kitchen area.needs some cabinets. How's the general area. Is it close to shopping? Does it have transportation within walking distance? Any crime issues? And last but not least do the roosters sing, lol. It really looks nice, great job😀
It’s in a quiet place with no roosters and close to transportation and stores too.
Not much crime in Trece
Wow that is SO inexpensive. It's small, sure, but if you're on a $1500-$2000 budget that sure gives you a lot of money back for whatever else you want or need to do. Great video. Thank you for showing it to us.
I would take all four on top and that way I could allow visitors or move next door when the wife and I fight 😂🤣😂 very nice apartments.

The AC only goes in if fully furnished unless you rent unfurnished then you could install one yourself.

What is the reason for the bars on the windows? Is crime pretty bad?

A Filipino worker could afford to live there 👍

Again lookin for answer...what is up everywhere I look everyone has bars on windows and doors? I wouldn't want to look out my window and see bars.
Little tiny place like a tiny house. All things make it very nice, so affordable too.

🇺🇸
Great starter place.
Tiny but very clean.
A fresh Xpat wouldn't have much crap anyway.
✌️ Cheers.

I’ve got the land and thinking to build a apartment, just not sure how much capital I need. I still have 20 years before I retire. I love passive income

Nice for a beginner. Good video Steve!
Also thanks for providing the contact information.
I like that place, it's top floor and everything. But does the dude with the drum set live in that building?
No, and it’s an electric drum set with headphones

Você teria a planta desse prédio?
Great presentation of a really affordable apartment. 👍🏻
A verry nice place, for a good price !
The quality of this place actually seems superior to many more expensive (and bigger) places. While I would like some more space, I think I could be happy here for a while.

So good
Steve still have available on September… I’m interested this place … I love it
No
why do you always say the American toilet? 1775 Scottish inventor Alexander Cumming was granted the first patent for the self-flushing toilet :)
it's a western toilet not an American toilet .. but most Americans are America-centric .. that's why Steve calls it an American toilet .. not a dig at Steve btw .. seems a great guy .. it's just your perspective if you're raised in American culture ..
Was wondering about the American toilet as well, how does it differ from any western toilet?
Exactly
It’s beautiful 🙌🏼🔥
Damn good value.
Best time to rent is new units
just curious, why are the outlets phenominal? not being snarky
Because they have different plugs over here and most have no ground.
Would u mind.. Whats d floor area of every unit, and hm the total cost of ur apartment? Thanks
Not sure but it’s not big
nice n affordable
I know u were saying there a Abundance of gated communities. Can u give a few names to look up? Thanks 😊
Suntrust, Florida Sun Estates, Eagle Ridge and Lancaster and many more you can find in Maps on General Trias.
Here we use factor of 14 to compute the HP rating of your AC. So if you got a 14 sqm area, you’d need a 1HP AC.
pricy 5000php witn no microwave gasburner and a fridge! rent should be 4000php
Hello my brotha is this place still there and if so how much are they now?
Not available now
Is parking pass included with that price? And this is in Cavite? (Near Manila)
Plenty of parking
Gorgeous
Loving these type of places.
Is it easy to find decent rentals for between $100-$150?
Are there many expats near by or expat bars?
Yes, Myself and others !!!
Waitin on award from settlement lookin at end of April. That said id love one of those units furnished.
All rented already
It's a cute unit... How's the expat community in the area?

It’s not bad here
Beautiful

No problem!
No closets? where do you put your clothes?
You buy a cabinet
Como você faz a divisão de energia amigo?
Separate meters
I don’t get those showers that don’t even have a transition or separator from the toilet. 🤷♂️🙄
Not an issue. How many crap and shower at the same time …… ? Lol
