I went on a ride the other day that was a little over 120 miles round trip. The bike handled great. I did feel a difference in the rear suspension since I tightened up the preload on the spring after lowering the rear 2"...it was a little bumpier, but not unbearable. I wasn't dragging knees, but did ride it like I normally did prior to lowering the front and rear. No wobbles at higher speeds either.

What does this do for handling ?

If the rear is lowered to match it shouldn't do anything to the handling accept lowering the center of gravity. A bit more likely to bottom out dropping down from a wheelie or hitting something very big in the road

For me, I needed to lower the back so I could touch the ground well enough to maneuver the bike back and forth while sitting on it, being able to fully stabilize the bike at a stop, etc. I lowered the front to give the suspension a little “closer” version of the original setup front to back height wise.
As far as handling, of course ground clearance is lower, and if you corner aggressively, you have less clearance as well. I am sure some geometry of the suspension has changed, but I am not an aggressive cornering rider at all. I plan on a 6 inch stretch as well, and having the bike lowered with that will help keep the front down on the ground.
I hope this answered some of your questions, and I know there is more info out there on this that is out of my league…hoping others with real feedback will comment as well.
