I really have an idea of framing one of these into my wall behind glass and having the missions and a dry erase marker on a coffee table underneath so when I’m hosting parties or dinners people can play it as wall art and mark their clues with an erasable marker.
I hung up Crime City on the wall while playing it to avoid the sore neck problem you mentioned haha not sure how that would work with the additional maps
Haha I would love to try it with the map on the wall but I'd have to take down some art first to make room. I definitely find myself choosing to stand up a lot more these days while gaming though.
Two year after this review and they already released the 2 other games (last games?) of these series. Also, the “Bonus Box” with special “epic” cases that go through the whole city (all 4 maps). So… it is an epic endeavor indeed to try to get all of it… 5 boxes… and the need for a huge space in your house in order to at least see the whole city together or a huge wall to hang the 4 maps and dive in the “epic” cases…
Sounds epic, I still need to finish the 2nd game and play through #3 and 4 before I even consider putting them all together... but that does sound really fun.
That connectivity of each expansion really makes me curious about what they have in store for the future. Good video. This makes me want to really dive in to this game now. Time to remove it from the shelf of shame.
I own both versions and already played the 16 cases of the first one and all except for the last 2 cases of full house, I absolutely love both of them and I'm also excited to play the other ones coming!
So cool that the maps have overlaps and connections. We have played Crime City but haven’t opened our Full House box yet. My kids have LOVED discovering stories on their own when we weren’t playing with the cards.
That's awesome! Really cool that your kids are loving it, can you imagine being their age and having a giant map filled with hand-drawn mysteries waiting for you?! I wish I could feel that excitement.

I use tiddly winks to track the stories. I have different colored clear ones. It really helps. I really enjoy this game. So far I've solo played, but I agree, it might get crowded with more than two people. I just purchased a magnifying glass with an led light; not for this game, but now I'm thinking...
Great video. Got Full House, but now I want to snag the first before I get too far. Really want to print these on a big blanket. Would make for a good Kickstarter Deluxe Complete Edition lol
Loved this! I actually didn't realize that Full House was sequel until this video! Thought it was just an add-on onto the original game! I'll have to check it out now! Thanks Carlo!
Love these games! While going through the first got the second which we haven't touched yet. We limit ourselves to a couple of cases per session just to make the game last longer. I agree that the advanced mode is the way to go once you have a feel for how things work. I'm building a new house that happens to steel on some of the walls. I'm going to try putting the map up with magnets to see how our backs feel when playing.
We found a way to play with four players: over Zoom! Two couples, two copies of the game... and heavy use of the coordinate system to direct each other around. Fewer butted heads, and we found both sides made about the same number of discoveries. Very cool. Hard mode is... well, at first, wut? How could that work?? And then a few cases in.... we didn't need it! It _was_ so much more satisfying to puzzle our way backwards, sideways, in circles.... I suppose the magnifying glasses I bought on Amazon after our first session didn't hurt. Overall? Mind blown. So fun... and the work that must have gone into those drawings!
That's a fantastic idea! Maybe I'll try that out for the next MicroMacro. And you're absolutely right, I can't imagine how long that must've taken to draw, and I didn't highlight that enough in the video. It's extremely impressive.
Too bad the original is nowhere at least in my place but I'm getting my hands soon on Full House and All In. Sounds right that the sweet spot for player count is at two. The issues you've mentioned are totally understandable, but this is still a very interesting game.
I was very interested in this one when I first heard about it. Where's Waldo on a great big board? Yes please. But then I heard that it featured some R rated content and I lost all interest. I'll revisit if they release an all age version

When I bought Crime City from my FLGS the lady working suggested hanging the map up and I’m so glad she did!
