The camera was six or seven feet away. I love the 50mm but doing video with the camera so far away can be difficult and the microphone needs to be closer so your voice is clearer. Shortly after I purchased a Sigma 18-35mm f1.8. You get the Bokeh but at a much closer distance. It works really well with the Canon EOS R as well.
@@DavidSenteno Thanks for your quick response. My canon 50mm lens was delivered about a week ago. I thought it would be a good level up from the Canon kit lens. I would prefer having lens placed closer to desk because I also place it about 6 feet away. I was so tempted to get the Sigma 16mm but not financially practical at this time. Thanks again. Much Joy.
The artist is Sionya and the name of the song is Up There In The Clouds. Here's a link th-cam.com/video/YHc85AjHzXc/w-d-xo.html. I went to your channel. You sound fantastic ! New Fan. If you ever feel like letting a new TH-cam Creator use your music I would love to feature it. It brings up very strong visuals in my mind. Just email me or DM me on Insta. Thank you for watching. Cheers.
Beautifully shot!! Well done sir!! I am a singer trying to learn ... Well actually learning how to use my Canon 80D to shoot my own music videos and my vlogs... I also have a 50mm ...I Paid a little more but I appreciate this video... I will follow you. Saw you on @TeaWithGaryVee I am rooting for you!! Keep up the great content!!
David, about the AF/MF setting on the lens, I have this lens on my Canon M50 II with the VILTROX EF-EOS M2 Speed Booster, I understand I have to change the mode on the lens to AF/MF when I photograph on AF/MF respectively, question is, when I shoot on aperture priority/ shutter priority what setting should I put on the lens - AF or MF, I think it should be MF, but please advise? also what mode should I put on the lens when I videograph?
AF/MF (Auto Focus/Manual Focus) is entirely up to you. Aperture or Shutter priority will not change the focus setting. The same with shooting video. I usually prefer Auto Focus for Photography and Manual Focus for video as the 50mm tends to focus breath ( move in and out of focus ) on its own as I shoot. Remember all your changing is whether the camera is focusing for you or not. I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any more questions and Happy Shooting. 😁
@@DavidSenteno thanks David, so it’s not mandatory that the lens setting should be MF when you photograph in Manual focus and vice versa? Otherwise even when the lens setting is in MF, you can set your camera to AF and photograph?
@@MichiMallu the AF/MF in the camera menu is for the settings you want to use when in either AF or MF. So if you switch the lens to AF then your M50 will autofocus based on your settings. Same with manual focus.
I love Casey ...I def enjoyed the show 🙌🏿 does this lens work with the cannon M50? All this time I thought I put the notification bell on but I didn't hopefully I don't miss any more of ur content 🤗
It can work with the M50 but you have to buy an adapter. There should be an equivalent lens for the M50. Thank you for coming by. I truly appreciate it.
Thanks for the informative post. I’m curious to how far the cannon 50mm distance was from where your sitting on this video? Much Joy

Loved the video Dave the auto focus when it would not work that would drive me nuts. No stabilization feature ouch
Yup. I had to trash a whole video when I noticed that it kept loosing focus but for photography it cant be beat at the price.

Nicely covered one of my favourite lenses. I use to to stream on my t2i. Tricky as a handheld though
