Refined oil is not coming from crude oil. Vegetable oil extracted from expeller machines are treated with caustic soda to remove FFA ( free fatty acid), mixed with fullers earth (a fone powdered clay to adsorb the yellow color of the oil, Filtered, treated with high pressure steam under partial vacuum (a process known as deodorization to remove the smell), cooled down and packed. This process increases the shelf life of the oil and color and odor free. Cold pressed oil although healthy is not very palatable and must be consumed within 2 or 3 days. Crude oil is the name used for petrol extracting from mineral oil.
