- In 1874 Granville Stuart (aka Mr. Montana) ordered two Winchester Model 1873 One of One Thousand rifles - one for him and one for his brother Thomas. In 2020, Rock Island Auction Company has the privilege of selling Granville's rifle for $345,000.
This December, Thomas Stuart's stunning Winchester Model 1873 One of One Thousand rifle comes to auction, and its condition is unlike any we've ever seen.

Wow, The difference between now and then with customer satisfaction and care.. Now they would ignore your calls, E-mails, and just probably not even attempt to make it right!🤷♂️
I get it that people sell their stuff, but this is…so personal. It is a family rifle. Selling it is so sad.
Itd be nice to see these 2 brothers back together again.
It's so interesting to hear the history of those old '73s. I live in Alberta, just above Montana and the people of both areas have a long standing friendship.
I recently acquired an 1873 made in 1887 in .38 WCF. It's in very good condition and mechanically perfect. I wish it could talk.
Lucky man indeed!👍
