    Great video Mike! An interesting look into the growing capabilities of another climate. The only thing about tropical soils is that it soaks up nutrients really fast. The struggle is to keep up with getting organic matter into the ground to feed the soil. We'll definitely have to check out their channel. 👍

    • @MikeTheFitFarmer
      @MikeTheFitFarmer  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I didn't know about how fast the soil in tropical climates take in nutrients. I will have to ask Brandon what all they use as fertilizer other than guinea pig poop. Thanks for watching!

    • @ecuadorhomestead6245
      @ecuadorhomestead6245 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, that is a big struggle at least in other parts of Ecuador where it does not rain as much, but here in the part I live in it rains so much that it does not really matter!

      AsiaticBW You can almost grow everything there, but it depends where you are located. For example in the highland region (la Sierra) that’s a cold place for us the Ecuadorians. There you can grow potatoes, grapes, peaches, blackberry, blueberries, etc. In the Amazon zone cocoa and more it’s humid and it rains a lot. Here’s an article that in the Ecuadorian Coast are growing grapes 🍇. The article is in Spanish so you have to use the google translator to be able to understand what it says www.elcomercio.com/actualidad/siembra-uva-santaelena-cultivo-produccion.html

    Did you get the loafa sponges done yet?? Are you planning on selling me 2 large ones?? Please name your price I am sure better in with you than a store.. I have your mail box address.. Please let me know. I will need one for Grand Daughter.. Hay!! Grow On!! Love listening to you. I have tried doing a pine apple for years now need to transplant. Wish I could do what you all are doing..When I get a green house I want to get a banana tree. Love the little ones.. Do you think they would grow in NYS.. or Pa..

    • @MikeTheFitFarmer
      @MikeTheFitFarmer  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey Susan! I (Lacie) haven't checked on the loofahs lately, I had to end up taking them off of the vine because of the cold weather and put them in the greenhouse to dry out. I think I have a couple that are ready to take the seeds out of and peel, I will have to get back to you on that. If I get some good ones then you are more than welcome to buy them. Baker Creek is growing bananas and they have cold winters so I think if you had a heated greenhouse you could probably do the same.
