The following is a letter written by Swami Chinmayananda Saraswati about the greatness of Bhagavan Nityananda of Ganeshpuri:
“It is not easy to write in a few words about the glory of such a great yogi as Bhagavan Nityananda.
I have not yet, in my life, met any other yogi so sensitive, ever remaining at such a high pitch of inspiraton and inner tranquility.
Even though such a full-grown Siddha, yet by the time I met him in Ganeshpuri, he had already bundled up all Siddhis (supernatural powers) and had left them behind him.
We had such a full rapport between each other; and I can not say that he had not helped me to scale some rare peaks which, as a vedantin, I had never visited, or ever thought of mounting enroute.
The rest of the biography of this great yogi is at best a myth which has nothing to do with what he was in essence.
When I met him privately and alone, or on occasions when I took large number of Lord's devotees along with me to have his darshan, every such occasion was a chance to be in a rare mood of exhilarating spiritual inspiration...
He used to meaningfully smile, imparting volume of spiritual wisdom.
It is indeed a great pity that no one really approached him to get what he had in him to give - everyone went to him to get what each stupidly desired in his own childish mind.
Sri Bhagavan Nityananda never disappointed anyone. He gave every one what he wanted. But how few reached him, desiring nothing but the Highest!"
It is not a truth to consider that he has left. He is still as powerfully present in Ganeshpuri to bless the devotees.”
    ~ Swami Chinmayananda
(In a letter addressed to Sri M.D.Suvarna, dated March 10, 1982)

In 1975 I received Shaktipat from Baba Muktananda. That was the single, most defining event of my life - to have been in bliss for two and a half days. His picture overlooks me as I write this and Swami Nityananda's picture overlooks me as I practice musical instruments. Later in the 90's the knot in my heart (chakra) was broken (I heard and felt the pop) while watching a video of him at the Siddha Yoga center in Atlanta. It's all about love.

At one point, later years he asked Janananda Swami to come and some discple booked a Flight ticket to come to mumbai. Before you got your "initiation in your dream" from Avadhuta Nityananda, had you met him or his devotees or his teachings or knew about him in any way?

My mind was too crazy, so I decided not to go back, which was the night I had the lucid dream with Bhagawan Nityananda. The center was held in the home of Siddha Yoga devotees. At that point, I knew nothing of Nityananda’s teachings. All I recall is them explaining the meaning of the mantra, “Om Namah Shivaya.” What I DO remember and have never forgotten is the minute I laid eyes on Nityananda in the dream, there was absolute recognition. He was the ONE I had been searching for my entire life. In that moment, seeking ended, even though I had no clue that I was a seeker or what initiation meant. Thank you for asking. 🙏💜

"Omraam Mikhael Aivanhov also visited Swami Nityananda, [...]. The swami was seated, surrounded by his disciples, wearing only a loincloth. When he saw Aivanhov, he entered into a deep meditation. When he opened his eyes, he spoke the following words to Aivanhov in good English: "A pure heart, peace in his soul and all power is given to him." Next, Nityananda uttered the name of an ancient Hindu sage claiming that Aivanhov was the reincarnation of this great yogi. It was apparently the same sage who had also written several books in Sanskrit. It is interesting to note that Peter Deunov once told Aivanhov that he had written books in India in the very distant past and that he would discover them again. Aivanhov never wanted to mention the name of this sage."

I used to sit at the feet of the seat in which He sat. Even though he was no longer in the body, there was so much spiritual energy there that I used to vibrate as I bathed i that Divine Presence. He also came to me in several dreams and visions to give me a message and a mantra. The only other Great being I am familiar with is Shirdi Sai Baba. They were both avatars, God in human form with universal messages. Neither one represented any particular religion or path to Ultimate freedom.

Overall, a decent attempt. But you did not even refer to Swami Janananda of Kanhangad, who was Bhagawan's foremost disciple. He was the one who performed the Samadhi ceremonies when Bhagawan left his body. His final days were full of thoughts about the Kanhangad Ashram, so much so that a devotee booked a chartered flight in case Bhagawan wished to go back. He took Samadhi instead. In many ways, I'm impressed with the effort you have taken to get authentic information. Thanks.

Thank you 🙏 @ Supreme Yogi , this video is of personal interest to me. My maternal grandfather had the blessing to witness bhagwaan miracles. He happened to jump into a pond where swami was sitting in deep samadhi. He came out smiled at him and left. My grandfather kept a coin which bhagwan materialized from gravel - as was the case many a times- for children to buy candy. Bhagwan stayed at kothamangalam , Koilandy , Calicut at none other than India's chief justice Shri Krishna Iyers ancestral home - he was a childhood friend of my grandfather. There are amazing stories which he used to narrate to us. The incredible one being how bhagwan stopped a train from moving when he was removed by the tt. Hence the name " vandi nirthiye " swami or the swami who stopped the train. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏. Thank you again ❤️.

Here stood a man who could offer “the Truth” with few awake enough to even hazard a guess as to the nature of this truth much less be preparedto “…handle the truth.” But he was a spoon that stirred the drink, present as a tent pole around which the fabric of Consciousness was tethered in this world.

Bhagavan nityananda was working in farm in kerela, age around 14, he was identified by the great monk swami sivanandha paramahamsar, He talked to owners of landlord and took him to his place and taught Vaasi yogam. He developed very advanced levels by his blessings, he over took his Guru in taavam Swami sivanandhar from vadakarai kerela. Nityananda taught people to do thaavam(higher levels of meditation). He built caves for the people but people doesn't want to and instead praying to him.
