Its sad to hear it has come to this. They should have asked for a Birkin as a settlement because I think if anything they are going to make it harder for Americans to be honest. The sad thing is I hear many other luxury brands from car to watches do the same thing.
I sooo agree with you! I think it’s not going to do much good for them, and yes, I’ve been surprised to learn through this process that other brands do the same thing! Terrible to do linked purchases like this, but in practice I think it’s very hard to catch and stop!
I think that Hermes is following a business model most companies have. They need their customers to support the various business units overall. They aren’t just a handbag company. They sell ready to wear, jewelry, houseware. I’ve heard they don’t offer commission on the quota bags so it’s the way SA’s make money to sell the other items. I think if people want the bags they need to buy them resale or play the game. I’m with you. I don’t see Hermes losing this one. And for those that sued they can forget about ever getting a bag now. 😂
@ nothing but bags: I agree with your points. However, it’s not the customers fault sales associates don’t get commission on a quota bag. Hermes needs to change that. And if Hermes is concerned about their other stuff, then why don’t some people know that they sell more than just bags?! Because that is not what they are known for. If I want plates, and shoes, I can go somewhere else for that.
@@idaranwa4370 you would be shocked that there are other items they offer people really like. The oran sandals are a big seller. And their jewelry. They just made more of an impact with the quota bags.
@@idaranwa4370 I agree, their tactics suggest their other items that are on the floor for lowly walk-ins or online customers are not up to par and overpriced. it's kind of a running joke for people to show all the things they had to buy to get a quota bag. I think hermes should focus on making those items more desirable without the empty promise of a "rare" bag. it's giving purchase with purchase.
Nearly $2 million in luxury Hermés handbags swiped from Miami Beach store. How it happened… this was the headline yesterday. And more thefts will be happening with this type of bag. Some people are scared to wear this bag because of this.
An interesting idea for sure… I think they’ll try to maintain some aspect of handmade, but we’ll see. I’ve heard their artisans aren’t actually paid very much, which is a huge shame if true.
Then they wouldn’t be the same; each bag is hand finished, they have people who spend years learning how to make it to a specific standard . Why would they need to change anything? This is a heritage brand, they have a way to do things, why would the change it just because some people are mad they are told no?
Great video. I’m not sure what evidence the plaintiffs need in order to prove that Hermes violated California law (and US federal law?), but am interested to see how this case turns out!

Hermes just needs to update/upgrade their leather manufacturing practices. They can't expect to grow and not keep up with demands.

Omg I hadn’t seen that! But yes, I’ve heard ppl say they feel they’re a target for wearing one 😳

@@idaranwa4370this wasn’t at the actual Hermés boutique. This was at a store that sold used handbags.

I know, I’m super interested!! I think they’ll really have a high burden of proof… but who knows!
Rolex buyers might have something to say about this...
Ooooh yes!! Do tell!
