Yeah - I don't think I'd use the tool on my Cartier or anything... Of course figure-8 tends to be on pretty basic stuff. And of course the broken, dried out figure-8 tends to be on 10 year old, men's frames that were of questionable quality to begin with! ;-) John

Great tip, we used to keep a plastic cover or smooth cotton between the plier and the top of the rim to avoid getting scratches on the frame.
