- Here is a Pioneer DVD and CD player that would not eject the tray, first checking the tray motor belt and end up finding a cracked power supply circuit board that needed repair
I would have thought the damage was done by a jolt or two on its way to me in the post.
Thought you might like to see the steps I took to find the reason why it was no ejecting the tray.
If you are unsure then do not attempt as you could damage your unit even more
A lot of CD / DVD players can be bought for as little as £5 these days at boot sales and charity shops and offer great value, as at the moment there seems hardly anyone wants CD's. Some more more regarded players do go for a lot more on places like eBay, but these can easy slip the net at car boots and charity shops.
@Alex Mit Just be a bit careful if waiting for car boots, go local and early so you acn return any that do not work, charity shops seem to check items and you have a recipt
Nice fix, Michael. Sadly my own soldering skills are, as my old mum used to say, "like a cow handling a musket"!
Really looking forward to your review... one of my best 'CD players' is a Pioneer DV-575A.
Pioneer DV-575A, nice sleek looking unit
@Alex Mit I have briefly tried this player and it does sound quite nice, I have stored it for a little while, but will have a full listen asap
@Alex Mit On reading a lot of reviews and forums, many DVD players from a few years back that cost £300 then are favourable sound wise to a £200 CD player at the time and these DVD players now can be bought in 2nd shops and charity shops for £10 or £20, the one shown above was £25 of Ebay so some value lays in these players. As for the laser life span well this could be just a few years to 20 years depending on quite a few factors. But when spending just say £20 then there is not much of a gamble, compared to buying a 2nd hand CD at £100
Good job you can use a little pocket knife easy to scrape! or and some acetone/nail varnish remover on a cotton Q-Tip well dissolve the mask
Thanks John, I will give the nail varnish ago next time, wife's got plenty laying around. I do not know if you did try and contact me by e-mail at the arcadeimages address but I have not received any
@@MichaelYates sorry you've lost me! why should have i contacted you by email I haven't got your email

@@MichaelYates ok I thought it might something to do with that prize thing, I did write down the WhatsApp number but I don't know it's going still probably too late, and you didn't reply so I thought you weren't interested!
@@johnsweda2999 Hi John , yes that was it, I bet I replied to the wrong John , sounds something I do regularly getting people mixed up. Thanks anyway John
hi Michael...i have a Marantz cd 67se...the eject only works sometimes..most of the time it will pop out a few inches and close automaticly....even if i use the remote !any ideas ? thanks mate !
I would start with the tray eject mech, not had the cd player myself, but seems like a belt or worn gear, there are kits around for doing the repair yourself as shown on the eBay listing www.ebay.co.uk/itm/324370972437?hash=item4b86043f15:g:EIYAAOSwevBfrL4p
Hi Jo, yeah it's usually a gear issue that or even cleaning the micro switches with contact cleaner
