Dave: Change your return policy to read "30 day returns accepted buyer pays shipping". You will see how quickly your returns dwindle. No more returns for "just didn't like it" when they have to pay the return shipping.
Dave you are a top rated seller, if you had free returns on the picture and she returns it in a different condition than sent you are allowed to withhold up to 50% so DO THAT. There is nothing the buyer can do at that point. Also take pictures of the item and report the buyer.
Harbor freight icon series boxed end wrenches do have a lifetime warranty on them. If they break all you have to do is take it to the store and they will give you a new one. As far as snap on going down in value I don't see that happening just like you said they are status symbols in the tool world.
The Harbor Freight lifetime warranty is for ALL hand tools. Their website says, "Harbor Freight Tools will replace any hand tool that fails to properly work during the lifetime of the original purchaser."
ABSOLUTELY do not fully refund on the Toy Story picture. She should have just returned it from the start, since she took it and had it more damaged that is on her not your fault at all!!
I don't offer returns and so far so good. But if she is not returning it in the same condition you sent it I'd file a claim with USPS. Also look into smart popcorn white chedder, I think it's on the list of snacks for keto. I've been watching your cooking channel (both entertaining and informative) keep up the good work.
Yes you can charge a restocking fee. She’s returning it in a different condition than she received it. If she appeals the restocking fee, eBay will refund her out of their pocket with no penalty to you.
Dave a Store Model Mattress is probably not new , If its on the showroom floor it is tested out by many people so not really new. I made that mistake and bought a 200 dollar display model and my back hurt every morning for past few years. I even topped it with several inches of gel foam and my back still hurt. I now sleep on a very very old feather mattress and have zero problems to my back. I dont know if feather mattresses are still sold but it is great, not too soft not too hard.
Dave Snap On is the premium brand for mechanic I had a 26 years career at a miltary depot. Yes the Snap On has a premium price & besides the lifetime warranty plus financing available for the beginners. A secret the price seems high to some but thats how they keep the harbor freight buyers off the truck.
Snap on is starting to loose it's polish from a customer point of view: 1. Lifetime Warranty: This changed about 5 years ago when they started enforcing their return policy. Their lifetime warranty now requires proof of purchase, and it needs to be a manufacturing flaw. It seems to be up to the discretion of the snap on truck guy whether he accepts the tool or not (typical sales stuff). 2. Made in the USA: Snap on was always a USA tooling house. However, they are working out some manufacturing in China (over the last year). It's mostly small parts right now, but it's soured a lot of "must be made in USA" shoppers. 3. Harbor Freight: Harbor freight has owned the lower end market for a while... but it's ICON brand has been steadily growing in both quality and popularity. All that being said, people still like snap on, but they're less likely buy used because it's not a "forever" tool anymore.
My back was completely trashed for years! Would go out on me and cause severe pain on a regular basis. We did get new mattresses and my husband talked me into getting the adjustable frames as well. GAME CHANGER! I cannot recommend it more highly. My back is completely healed! All points are supported equally. No pain in over a year. Seriously, get the adjustable base. It will change your life.
I have had 3 returns and 3 cancellations in the last week. I have never had that in the 25 years of selling on eBay. I'm always cautious and honest on my listings. Total of 24 pictures no matter what it is. Probably disclosing too much info. But I think there is something going on with returns!! Just stupid no reason or straight out lies on the returns. Something is going on!!!
For mattresses, you should go to the mattress stores and actually try out the mattresses to find the one that's best for you. And you can negotiate at mattress stores, just like at a car dealership. My last mattress and box frame I negotiated over 50% off what they were originally asking + free delivery.
Dave, if I could have a Flips, a cooking, a Keto eating at parks, and all the others, plus 3 kids and helping with the makeup channel, I now understand what im watching....as often as possible....
I’m a mechanic by trade and reseller part time. Snap on if definitely better quality materials, with that being said I’m 100000% harbor freight everything besides speciality tools. And my electric tools I buy Milwaukee. The brand and price won’t fluctuate as much as you may think if at all. If you see snap on for a good price. BUY IT. I just sold a $500 torque wrench
Do not refund the woman who took apart the Disney picture. That’s like someone buying a sweater from you and then washing it and the sweater shrinks and they want a refund because the sweater shrunk after they took possession of it. She took it somewhere to have work doneand the work was done poorly. Not your fault. Did she send you any pictures of the so-called damaged corner before she took it to a framing company? If she did not send you any pictures of damage right after she received it, she has no proof. Of course, eBay will probably side with her.
With the Disney picture she voided the return policy by attempting to fix the item herself. She should have just returned it from the start or asked for a partial credit if that's what she really wanted.
That Toy Story item should have been returned right away. What she did caused more damage and she is responsible for that. I would contact eBay and see what they say. They'll be able to see all her messages to you and see that she ultimately caused the most damage to the item.
I would fight the return on picture.. I have only had a couple returns since I have been amping up my reselling the past 3 years. But then to be fair if the item was $10 or less and they have a legitimate complaint to return an item, I just refund them and tell them to do whatever with item in we question..
You should NOT allow the buyer to return the art print. If she wanted to return it when she first received it with a bend, sure. That’s a clear INAD and/or damaged in shipment. If she hadn’t mucked with it, you could have filed a claim with the shipper. She’s removed that option from the tables. When she took it to be reframed, something she probably planned on doing from the beginning, she fully committed to owning it. Although it may be tempting to take tool advice from TikTok, there’s not a single world in the multiverse where a tool sold at Harbor Freight is superior to a tool sold by Snap-on.
Dave - in regards to the picture - I would offer maybe a $5.00 credit for the little bent but not for the full amount. She is the one who destroyed it - you are not the who damaged.
Dave - She had the item pulled apart and changed the condition. That's not allowed so discount her 50% Regardless of the small bend, I'd deduct her because she's returning it different than how it was shipped, regardless of "small bend." I'm finding over half my returns or attempted returns are sheisters. Amazon they're more bold. They pull switcharoos on $200 because Amazon won't support you.
If she had a problem with the item at the start she should have addressed the issues with you first. When she decided to fix the issue herself and exacerbate it even more she accepted the condition of the item not making it your dilemma. Shes trying to recoup funds because she failed at fixing it. That was her risk. They even say that in manuals or warranties, don’t try and open or unscrew this product as that will null your warranty.
Oh Dave please do not refund her for what she has damaged. I trained in a framing dept at Hobby Lobby & a professional framer is super careful with art & I highly doubt her story. You could have sold it if there was a slight bend but she's officially damaged it and that's different
You really should change your return policy, and get away from those free returns. Even if it does increase sales (for me it didnt), you spend a ton of time processing ridiculous returns. Whoever heard of returning a comic book, for example, for no reason?
I think it’s the economy. We love to buy but it’s becoming more and more expensive to feed the consumerist goblin. I am seeing more and more people fishing for partial refunds. It’s like a form of remorse buying. They want the item but if they can get a partial refund; why not say you don’t like the item and want to return it. They know the buyer doesn’t want to relist and pay for shipping back.
Dave you know that you don't have to refund the print lady. EBay rules say item has to be the same as shipped.. She voided return but changing frame...
My husband is a diesel mechanic and he has spent a small fortune over the years On Snap On tools until he discovered Harbor Freight. They work just as well and so much cheaper. You just walk in that Snap On truck, and you’re spending thousands, it’s absolutely crazy.
Yeah but snap on has tighter clearances and are better tools. The icon ones at harbor freight aren’t horrible just not as good and they have less specialty tools. Plus snap on is a flex if you’re a professional mechanic.
@@richardmccallum2735 Oh trust me, my husband has bought snap on in the past. He’s been a mechanic for at least 25 years and had many many payments with snap on. He got tired of spending all that money after all these years and he’s at the age where he doesn’t care what brand the tool is as long as it does the job.
That's why I do not offer returns. Those people won't buy from me. And yes I know if item is not as described you have to return. I can't remember the last return I had.
For that art, the company she had do alterations from the original state it was in should be responsible for the refund. You did your part. It's like selling a sealed pack of sports card and the cards inside (after opening it) got ruined when the person tried to put it inside a top loader then they decide that since it's not ruined they are going to send it back to get a refund.... the item is no longer in the same condition as when you shipped it out. Why would you get it back as a defected item after the buyer decided to make any alterations after the purchase.
Don't you have a certain amount of time to ship orders ? Waiting for 5 days can't be good for business or do people not care ? I managed a car repair shoo for 10 years and mechanics seem to buy Snap-on or Cornwell. Plus mechanics can have payments and rep will replace for free if breaks. How do you know how much you make if you don't know what your COG is ?
No way I'd refund her anything after she took it somewhere and they disassembled it. I would pass her message on to eBay they should have your back. Refund would have only been given before she took it elsewhere.
I would refund her the minimal amount, $10 for the mat damage. The other damage is due to her own action. You also have a message from her that the frame shop damaged the actual art piece, I don’t believe ebay will give her a full refund. I would also call ebay and ask them to please put a note about her damage from the frame shop as you are only going to refund her a small amount.
No, you do not have to refund her! She has to send the item back to you in the order that you shipped it and you have the conversation as proof that she altered it
Snap On vs Icon comparisons have been going on for YEARS this isn't a recent thing, maybe recent in tiktok universe idk. I doubt if the people that pay for Snap On watch tiktok anyways lol
Do not refund it’s her problem not yours. I had to refund the cost a top and postage which the customer refused postage when it was being delivered wtf but eBay says to refund as she says she never would have refuse the delivery. I will claim the cost back from the postage company but it’s all hassle I don’t need. Somedays I don’t want to bother with selling but I give myself two days off now to switch off. I have Autism so I can get overloaded and down so need to recharge. I love watching your videos.
It's pretty simple dude ask her to send you pictures of the photo damaged and make your decision after that. She damaged it more by tearing it out of the frame.
No, absolutely not. She damaged it to the point where you can’t even relist it. That’s ridiculous. I wouldn’t refund her, period. Surely if the tables were turned I’m sure she wouldn’t refund you
How old is your sleep number cause they have a good warranty and u might just need to swap out the top pad, or very least rotate it. The top pad breaks down after awhile. I know this cause we are on year 8 of a sleep number and only recently flipped the top pad, big difference
Dave have you spoken to Kevin about the type of returns you are receiving? Unless he doesn't mention them, his returns are almost non-existent. There’s no way I would refund for that artwork. It is not returned in the condition it arrived in. She admitted she altered it so you should be home free. That is not your fault plus there is no way to prove there was actually a bend when she opened that package.
That artwork deal sounds like a total scam. I do not think you are obligated to refund, she took it somewhere and they likely damaged it. Because she took it appart and took to another company you are not responsible in my opinion. Your pictures should show if the corner was bent or not. This pisses me off and not even my sale!!!!!!

Yup. This is a case you should deal with Ebay for.
Wowza! You got the Phlorida Phlipper haircut.
Hey Dave! Go to the chiropractor, have them adjust you. Good luck!

Exactly once she took it to a 3rd party she took responsibility.
Once she opened it to re-frame, return should not be allowed.
I'm finding most "returns" are just fishing for partial credits.
Absolutely!
100% people just open returns in hopes the seller does a knee jerk reaction and just refund on the spot...NOPE
Exactly.
No partial refund send my item back.
Yes and they leave negative feedback calling me a scammer
I don't offer returns and so far so good. But if she is not returning it in the same condition you sent it I'd file a claim with USPS. @janetting5940 I AGREE!!!!
Maybe next time dont ship it in the frame, ship in a tube and let them buy their own frame

it arrived bent dave should of packed better
Mattress, mattress, mattress.. does that work similar to Beatlejuice, Beatlejuice, Beatlejuice? LOL
I don't want to jinx myself, but I'm not having problems with returns.

People that return on eBay are professional shoppers. They either want it free or want a massive discount.
That's why I do not offer returns. Those people won't buy from me. And yes I know if item is not as described you have to return. I can't

yeah i have had more this month alone then in the last 6 months
Still havent turned on returns. Im sure it hurts sales. But i sell everything

How old is your sleep number cause they have a good warranty and u might just need to swap out the top pad, or very least rotate it. The top pad breaks down after awhile. I know this cause we are on year 8 of a sleep number and only recently flipped the top pad, big difference
He bought it from a garage sale so I don't think the warranty would apply since he wasn't the original buyer.
I would not refund! You have messages that state the company she sent it to damaged the product so she is clearly at fault.
Don’t refund her eBay can see all the messages back and forth they should side with you.
I was like that when it was hot in the uk
Just got 3 returns this week

No way...not the way you sent it..bet ebay would back you
I am seeing alot more fail to pay from offers
I am seeing a lot less fail to pay offers since ebay started automatically charging after offer is accepted

returned it damaged 50% off
Getting some
am i the only one that never relists items that get returned
All my parcels are gone today
Don't be such a pushover. You do not owe her any refund. She sent it to another company and it's on them now if it's damaged and whatever then they need to compensate her not you
I would go to chiropractor
Snap on is not going anywhere. Harbor freight hired a snap on engineer that’s why the icons are almost identical. The majority of harbor freight’s tools are still not even close in quality.
