1. Dog licences - people fully vetted
2. National Register in place for abuse and neglect, NAME AND SHAME
3. 10 year prison sentence minimum
4. Do the same to the owner as what they did to the animal.

Permanently chaining / tying a dog to one spot should be recognized for what it is: animal cruelty. And it should be a punishable offense.

It is where I live. You cannot teether a dog for more than a few hours. Also dogs left in a car I’m allowed by law to break the window and get the dog out. I would call the police though so nobody comes for me.

I rescued a bullboxer from a situation like that in 2008. He gave me a lot of love for the next 11 years. 🥰
Me too my friend. On my way home with him, I named him Peyton after Peyton Manning. After all we’re in East Tennessee!! Peyton was an awesome dog and very loving 🥰 and extremely protective of me.

I agree to a point but they should have done it through the cops and animal rescue. Thats trespassing and theft. Depending on the state the owner could have been in their rights to harm those people to stop them from what they are doing. What they did could seriously have gone sideways in a hurry.

I could give 2 shits about breaking into any place if there's an animal being neglected.. I've done it my whole life, and do you know how many animals I've saved. My goodness had I waited for animal services they'd have been dead by the time they did anything... The majority of those places are useless...

What the owner did to this dog is neglect & cruelty. He/she should be taken to court if they are found. After 20+ yrs if animal rescue, my question is: why people get dogs or other pets if they won’t care for them? This poor dog was lucky he was rescued & has finally have love in his life! That’s what i was thinking. Even if he was afraid of the neighbor, he could have fed the dog. Neighbor is partly to blame too.
The neighbor said in the video "I didnt know he was starving a dog like that." He didnt know until then. Its not partly his fault, its only that shitty owners fault.

I do dog rescue and I am the first to tell you, most people are just like that guy in the video. Sheep. They only care about themselves or those in their inner circle and could care less if it concerns anyone or anything outside their circle. These "sheep" offer cheap words, oftentimes, but take part in no action or sacrifice to help someone or something else. This is why society is the way it is. That man didn't even offer to try to lend his muscle while a relatively small/average sized woman is struggling to cut the chain. Smh. I picked up on that too, because I have been the one rescuing (in my case, by myself) with not nary a soul lifting a finger, only asking bothersome questions or cheap words of encouragement. Don't get me started.
He might have been the one who called these people. I’m guessing it’s a property that was recently abandoned by the owners/occupants, and as a neighbour it can take a while to figure out what’s going on. Presumably he’s not at home 24/7, he might not have been able to see the dog from his house, he might not have realised immediately that the dog had been abandoned (I’m guessing that he was - it would be nice to get more information about the circumstances in these videos).
Despite his horrible treatment he was so sweet and friendly to the rescuers.
He has the spirit and eyes of an angel 🐶😇

I’m very happy they saved the dog but it was a little overly dramatic and very unnecessary with the bolt cutters. It was very visible that it was a standard stainless steel screw shackle that was looping the chain around the dogs neck to make a collar. All the rescuers needed to release the chain around the dogs neck was one pair of pliers (to hold the “U”) and a small screwdriver to pass through the visible eyelet, to relatively easily twist open the bolt. Just a bit of advise for the next rescue.
Not every one is good about tools or has a screwdriver with them.
Bless you all. Being I'm a legit 6 ft 8 and 380 I've tempted fate more than once to rescue a dog or two in my life. People so cruel to animals are very reluctant to take ass whoopins over their animals.

What's particularly sad is that in many states, chaining dogs is legal. The _law_ allows this to happen. If your state or country allow it, campaign against it.
Why? Here in the south many ppl have chained dogs for protection or to alert id there's Intruders. Especially if it's a vicious dog. Why should ppl put their kids at risk of being mauled just so you can feel better ? Remember- humans matter more than dogs
Joseph Keeping a dog chained in one place means you can’t walk it. Your dogs aren’t just meant to be some guard pet. And if the dog is extremely violent then let it room around the yard with fences. THERES NO NEED OR REASON TO CHAIN YOUR DOG UP IN ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. IF YOU CANT afford a fence then give up the dog, simple.
