They don't duplicate it for you unless they are a time bender. You can't get the duplicate drop off they are assigned something else. That is why it's hard, you need the items to make manual to give to them to change assignment. That what is misleading. I had mini follow me yesterday for 4 hours and i got 5 bows. You do not get a duplicate just because they follow you unless they are a timebender.
I made the mistake of assigning Jack and Rapunzel to something else. So I just had Eve and Gaston. Although she wouldn’t give me duplicates, I hung out with Moana to increase my chances of getting oars bc I was lowest on those. Then when I had enough I made Moana timebender so I can get duplicate oars going forward. I’m now hanging out with Ariel and Minnie to get the dinglehoppers and bows. Once I get enough of those I’ll make Ariel and Minnie timbenders so I can make sure it’s always easier to get the items to make the time bending manual and then I’ll add some other characters after I have those 3 done.
They give you an increased chance but it still takes hours to get the 10 you need. I used Minnie since starting yesterday and i just recently got 10. And she is now a time bender for me. I just gave her a manual and she became my 3rd time bender and theres no increase from 2-3. Its ridiculous its THIS hard to craft manuals when the other manuals are easy
@@randomexploring541 I agree with you both. I hung with Arial and worked every biomes for a total with only 1 fork to drop. That's 18 locations, 2-3 drops per biome.
I had Micky and Minnie both with me for 2 hours and not one single bow. It's so frustrating. I was to frustrated to try Moana and Ariel, but I'll try them next.
Stroke of luck I had not had Ursula assigned anything (Vanessa) so I was able to make her a time bender, but I didn’t realize you have a higher chance of getting those specific drops with the other characters even if they are not timebenders! Tysm
i have a sneaking suspicion that you should stay at timebending level 1 for a long time and that cuts down on the pool of items you can get through time bending!! and it makes the dingle hoppy bow oar more common. so noooooooo because i fully upgraded myself lol
I have 5 timebenders 4 at level 7 and 1 at 10. I’ve noticed I’m not hardly getting duplicated from them anymore. Especially when I get mist they don’t duplicate. And other things it’s 40% chance if duplicates. This started Friday. Before that I was always getting duplicates 🤷🏻♀️. So frustrating it’s a grind already and now it’s even more so!
True. I think this is part of the reason @Serroh told us to take this game at our own pace. I remind myself that I am so far ahead of those who only got the game recently and not when it just came out in Early Access the way I did. That helps some because I need to keep the game fun if I'm going to continue playing it. Grinding like a fiend for timebending manuals is so the opposite of fun for me.😄
I noticed a change with the hot fix and wonder if the drops were nerfed a bit. I would just okay and enjoy the game like normal and let the drops come as they do. Eventually it’ll get easier and easier

Do we really need like 10 timebenders? For gardening you'd get some pretty great extras by just having 6 gardeners for example. Sadly I didn't even think about this when assigning my new characters after the expansion and I currently only have one.
I made Gaston a time bender but he rarely gives me extra mist or gifts but I don’t care about the gifts. He’s level 8 or 9 and most of the time he just stands there with his arms folded.

Yeah, my big mistake was just choosing Rapunzel to be a timebender. The grind to get those manuals is much harder starting out from scratch, I think, than if you did the first 3 characters. My question is, is there more of a chance to finding an item if your companion is a timebender in that universe vs just any character in that universe? Also, does it help to have mutiple timebenders in a specific universe to increase the chance? ( Ive never received any item like the fork in just 3 attempts - more like 15 to 20 attempts )
Sigh, been grinding out Oars with Moana and decided to keep track of how many attempts between oars. First attempt - 14 tries. Second attempt - 22 tries. Average, 1 oar for every 18 attempts. Ugh.
Why shouldn't Rapunzel be a timebender? I played through the first part of the free update just to get partway through the star path. So without even thinking Jack became a gardener. When I started a Rift in Time, those three became timebenders. Why should I be regretting my decision to make Rapunzel the timebender?
@@DawnGrimm I think they meant that the mistake was only choosing Rapunzel to be timebending, and Gaston and Eve on some other skill so now they only have 1 and have to craft that many more books rather than having 3 free timbenders and just 2 books to get to the first bonus of 5 villagers on a skill 🤔
Taking the bonus villagers with me has been no help getting the specific items for me 😢 I got 1 out of about 30 items pulled. I seem to get less than when I take a bender villager with me.
I brought Scrooge (a miner) around with me and got 2 bows & a dinglehopper (which is all I needed) to finally craft ONE manual. 😂 now trying to decide if I want to make Ariel a time bender to get Dinglehoppers or Minnie to get bows. Oars seemed to drop with everyone so far but not so with bows & dinglehoppers... only downside is the buddies don't duplicate the Mist or item but I'm decent on mist.
Help im riding the struggle bus here I'm up to 7 timebenders All characters are level 10 But I'm still getting only 1 bonus item. How many timebenders do i need for the multi bonus like in your video your character gets 1 your companion is giving you 9 Please help
Oh I wondered about the bonus. I tried it for a bit, but it didn't seem to make much difference so I assumed it just meant it gave more friendship as gifts. Glad i was mistaken!
Have Stitch as my main timebender, plus another 9. and then the rest is miners and gardeners. But i may change the gardeners to something else. Want to keep it mixed a bit, so i can still do other stuff with a few extras.
These things are so RNG. Went around with Daisy (who is a timebender) and got 6 oars and 12 bows but went around with Prince Eric and Maui and not 1 of any of the components dropped so clearly the hangout bonus only works if the character from those realms also are timebenders. All of my Little Mermaid and Moana characters are other professions so it'll take a while to get all of the components.
I'm turning Olaf into a timebender because he is my absolute favorite and timebending is my new obsession and i will get to hangout with Olaf more than before
If we all submit tickets for refunds and to get time bending manuals for all the new characters and to make the drop rate higher, is the fastest way to do this! 😂😅

hey Serroh, I know this video was out a couple of weeks back, so I understand you might not see this straight away, but worth a shot. I have been on the grind for these items to make another timebender. Your videos are so valuable, you are so good at explaining things. I'm finding the bows extremely easy, got 20 of them now, however the oars and dinglehoppers, take sooo long, even with the hangout bonus chars. I appreciate it's gonna be hard at first, and I only have 2 timebenders sadly, Jack and Mickey, because I stupidly never made any of the other new chars a timebender. At that point I didn't know how amazing it would be. My question is: would you advise, when I fianlly get my last 4 dinglehoppers, should I make Aerial, eric or Ursula one, as I am finding them the hardest to obtain, and it might increase the chance, aswell as them duplicating it! I have to say, for all the Maui haters out there, he has actually been the best one for me at dropping the oars, when I hang out with him. ariel should be a free timebender as well if you haven't already changed her to either of her 2 alternate skins, the 2 that make her human. just like ursula at first she can't follow you because she's stuck to being only in the water. is it possible to switch them back to their original forms and then back again and if so would this allow you to change their skill from whatever to timebender?
i tried switching ursula back to her original form and then back to human. it didn't give the option to change her skill. not surprising. i still see it as possible to get ariel for as a time bender for free if you have not changed her to human or if you have but have not leveled her at all. do you need to have the expansion to get the timebender option?

I have 3 timebenders and it makes no difference for me. I took Arial out. Did both biomes and only 1 fork. A majority of what I got was belts and mist.

I have 12 buddies TB , and i get up to 620 mist and 1 or +4 gifts etc. Do you literally have All of your characters timebending? Or at what amount you could get +9😅

I don't think they're exclusive to the characters, it's just that using characters from the same universe as the item will give an increased CHANCE of dropping it.
I think I got all mine done about 6-7 days after the dlc came out? And you can get any item it just increases the chance of certain items from certain universe with those characters
You can do it at a time bending station but it’s expensive when you’re starting as it costs 5k mist for level 1, 10k mist for level 2 and 15k mist for level 3.

If they r a timebender they drop the item more then any other item when with if they r from the listed ream .
But what do you do when Minnie is being Stingy. She’s giving me other things. I got a block and an oar. Is this a bug?

How do you level your hourglass?
You can do it at a time bending station but it’s expensive when you’re starting as it costs 5k mist for level 1, 10k mist for level 2 and 15k mist for level 3.
