When you actually listen closely, the Sonic 3 Boss Theme is a heavily modified version of the Sonic 2 Boss Theme, there’s no videos of theme both playing together but I’m pretty sure they’d sync well if they were at the same speed.

Good remix, however it sacrificed the feeling of dread and doom the original instills with its sharp, puncturing main melody, assisted by the background base. Also, the base is way too strong for this. It's sounds much better with more militaristic drums.
