Your dominant eye definitely plays a role in how u move to the ball but it doesnt determine whether u use open stance or closed stance what determines that is how deep or short the ball is

Yea closed stance and hit the ball a bit later when it is between both legs rather than hitting it in front of you. I'm left eye dominant so I use a closed stance for my forehands
closed stand is perfectly fine when you have time for it, open stand is used when there is no time to hit in closed stand. nothing to do with dominant eyes

The ball was short and more in the center so she could perfectly use that stance !!!!! But no problem with learning the open stance , it should be the first thing you learn

And you can attack , change direction , follow to the net , play drop shot in open stance depending the situation. Hope my explanation is more clear now
@@bmtspain6839 A good player learns to play closer to the net first then outward toward the baseline (good players learn to control half court first) so your claim to “that you should learn the open stance first” is a bogus one. You learn the closed one first to begin with and then you learn the defensive one. (She knew one but didn’t know the other) If I should read better, you should know better. European slow court players only move laterally well. They don’t how to close and approach on faster courts.
@@Roadrunner65553 if by closer you mean mini tennis ( which we do in Belgium already in the 80s ) then I agree and the first lessons FH will indeed be in open stance which is the most natural position, makes you turn automatically and is played in 75% of all the stokes if you play MODERN tennis which we teach already more then 20 years ( following Oscar wegner )

Open stance for beginners is controversial. Posting on the rear foot is a must but keeping the stance open throughout the shot will create other issues especially for recreational players. Sometimes another step to close the stance is important and you can see even Roger do it.
My 15yr old also left eye dominant, Loads / anchors everything on the right foot, even shorter balls. She uses OS for 2HBH as well, can track the ball much better that way. Open stance is great bc it’s very fast from the baseline, the potential problem for beginners is that, while executing the forehand OS, the balance (the body) falls backwards - causing the ball to sail long. If you can anchor the right foot and load through the shot - moving forward, it becomes an effective stance (especially on clay, when dealing with high balls taking it early in the rise)
I need a video explaining the mechanics behind changing stances based on eye Dominance. Because it actually does not make any sense how this would change anything.
Aiming?? Like a gun ? In tennis you really don’t aim ..your hitting to an area your peripheral sees .. a closed stance shudnt effect seeing the ball coming to you. your head moves/ adjust enough even if you only have one eye

Perhaps your coaches are already aware of this idea and they reject it. I wouldn't be surprised if even the coaches in the PM academy don't teach it.
You are overthinking. Just hit the ball and your body will naturally find your hitting spot.

Wrong! Open stance is for defense, closed stance is for offense. You don’t hit attacking approach shots with an open stance.
