I just finished reading Verity and came running to watch this video and girl same. Its 2.30am and i'm so scared to even go to the bathroom because i'm so creeped out😫. I love this book. this is the second book after The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides that left me shocked and gasping for air because there is simply no breathing space just like you said!
verity scares the fuck outta me. i truly believe the manuscript is true but the letter is so convincing. ALSO i hated jeremy, verity and lowen lol. and the caregiver nurse april ???? what happened w her? i'm just so confused about this book overall but i read it in two days
I’m so mad cause i guessed the plot twist for this book and I also didn’t get creeped out. That’s the bad thing about reading so many thrillers/mysteries
I’m still divided between manuscript and letter (SPOILERS!!) I think the letter was fake tho tbh and maybe taking Crew and leaving Jeremy for trying to ‘kill her’ was all part of her plan to get him back? He would realise when he found that his third and final child was missing and that Verity had took him because of his actions that he possibly screwed up and he would wait at the phone for her to call so he could apologise and beg for them to come home and to be back together. This also ties into why she was trying to find that manuscript. I think that if the plan didn’t work out as she planned and instead of begging for her and Crew to come home he would get angry and call the police then she would try and fight for custody of Crew it would be her way of punishing Jeremy for leaving her as she knows how special the kids are to him so taking his last child away from him would be the final straw but if that manuscript still existed then Jeremy would have evidence that could not only win him custody of Crew but get her locked up she would want it destroyed so Jeremy had no strong case against her if you get me so I I believe PARTS of the letter but I mostly believe the manuscript a mother who truly loved her children would never write such horrible awful things about them even if it was fiction I don’t know I just doubt it and have my suspicions…
omg this video brought me back to my reaction while reading this book! i finished it at 3am and couldn't sleep HAHAHA anyways team manuscript, but Lo should definitely leave Jeremy, he's a walking red flag
I don’t believe Verity because in the letter she never explains about what their son said to Jeremy about her warning him of the boat turning in the lake. And the boy did tell Jeremy so that did happen…just saying
Idk why but i didnt rlly get scared and i think its because i was with my family:( butt the plot twist was AMAZING. Coho books have the best plot twists for me tbh!
i also really enjoyed this book and wonder if the letter by Verity is true or not. especailly because at one point when Lowen asks Jeremy what he thinks about her and he said "I'm mad at her(Verity)" or sth like but if the letter is not true, theres no reason for Jeremy to be mad at Verity...idk!
Because the letter is so poorly written as a goodbye letter to Jeremy, I lean on the side of stupidity. Who writes a goodbye letter that long - with a writing lesson included? A narcissist! I felt bad for Verity for a split second, but then naw..
I literally picked this book up right after this vlog and I can’t- I need a personal apology from Mrs Hoover
She has me in the palm of her hand truly

I desperately want the letter to be fake. Because I will feel so so guilty if it's true and I've been afraid of and hating Verity this whole time.
