Grimsby town! Oh and do Cheltenham 😂
Prenton Park (Tranmere Rovers) Ry. On July 14th, we're holding our annual open day. It's completely free to attend. You can get inside the ground & walk around to your hearts content. Tour the changing rooms. See the boardroom etc.
Sounds good mate! BUT… I’ll be watching England lift the trophy that day 😅🏆
@@RysFootyParadise Ahh, yes of course, it's the Euros' final. Forgot about that tbh lol
@@RysFootyParadise I mean you could go and come back in time. Final is 8pm after all.
John Ateyo played for England whilst playing for a 2nd division club. I was fortunate to have seen him play his last game against Ipswich town in which he scored the last of his 350 goals. I also remember being in a near 39000 crowd in the old stadium when City got 3 valuable points against Liverpool before taking near 17000 fans to Coventry for a 2:2 draw and 1st division survival. Good old days.
Atyeo.
Well my apologies. I was only about 9 years old and at Staple Hill Junior school when I saw him play. Had the heady days of the first division for a couple of seasons before leaving Bristol and joining the Royal Navy. I will have to come back after 50 years to read the plaque on the statue.
Whoever thinks Bristol City are the most boring club in English football has no idea what they're talking about. They're ambitious, innovative and have a really interesting history. Not to mention a very strong fanbase. People dont understand how difficult it is to get out of the Championship when pretty much every other club now has benefitted from parachute payments. It's a credit to them for even staying in the mix all this time!
Well said mate, as someone not far from the area, I always want clubs near me to do well and break the monopoly of London/north west clubs dominating PL spots
@@RysFootyParadise I'm not originally from the area, but I go to a few games a year and want them to do well. I do think they'll get there eventually and they have the foundations now to potentially stay there too. Bristol deserves Premier League representation. It's too big a city to not have it really!
Pathetic club.
ambitious? i’m from Bristol and they are a selling club hence why they will go nowhere
I love the fact you had "I am a Cider Drinker" by the Wurzels playing then had Andy Cole and teammates wearing the kit with Blackthorn Cider on it 😂😂😂
You’ve gotta do the Memorial Stadium now for the mighty Bristol Rovers seeing as you’ve done one half of Bristol 🟦⬜️
I’ve done a video there before but I’ll be back for another 😊👍🏾
Ashton gate is definitely a premier league ready stadium, hopefully one day 😅
2025/26 😉
Premier league stadiums have an atmosphere lol
Just need a premier league team to play there. Maybe Rovers will do the odd match there when they're in the premier.
@@jb9-en1yodo they?
@@HC-kn2sq yeah they do the shit dosent one little pathetic bit near the corner flag and sad little drum banging over the quiet little voices
Great video , but you missed Nelson Mandela House from Only Fools and Horses which was over your right shoulder right as you left.
Great video of my club 😍
Grounds coming on, and a decent size city. I fancy them Prem by 2026.
I used follow Port Vale 80's/90's. Vale used batter both City & Rovers.. Cities ground is looking Prem and the gas well :)
We ain't going up anytime soon, landsdown much prefers the rugby than the football unfortunately
Landsdown prefers Rovers to City, he tried to buy them first.
It’s a really nice ground to be fair, I’ve been here for quite a few events and went and watched the rugby here once.
Very enjoyable video. I share your love of these stadiums (bit not quite as excited about the corners!). I hope your channel goes from strength to strength
Haha cheers mate, will be putting the graft in this season 👍🏾
Another brilliant video Ry, really enjoy your work mate 💪 Would love to see you explore Hillsborough next 😀
I’ll have a look to see if they’re offering stadium tours… or I may have to sneak in 😅
Been to Ashton Gate & found it to be a very good ground . Fans were not the friendliest mind . But one of the best grounds I’ve visited as an away fan .
Not the most intelligent neither!
@Gastradamus The word you're looking for is either 😂
This is good Ry and I can answer a question that came up for you. The Wurzel's song, 'drink up ye cider!' is the club anthem. When you come to a game, make sure you choose a home stand because you can walk around 270 degrees inside. Yep, under all three home stands.
My dad's team !! Nice to see ! You are great, mate, & have greatly helped redeem my view of Man U fans !! Have to check to my match programne but believe John Atyeo played in 1967 against my team, Spurs, in the FA Cup .. great memories !!
@@lenworth11 we all make questionable choices as a kid 👦🏼 ❤️🤍🖤
Back on the Pompe y fixture list , changed a lot from my last visit in the 80s .Fun fact we also played Rovers at Ashton gate in a league cup tie when Eastville burned down . Looking forward to seeing City at Fratton park again .
You visited the most boring football club in England. Yeah we know, you've been to the Etihad. How was Bristol? 😃👍
🤣🙊🙊🙊
Etihad and Maine road have more history than your tinpot club
@pshr2447 how's your boring atmosphere though? You don't even go 🤣🤣
@@Varisrubbishthe "boring atmosphere" made Madrid wet themselves and lose 4-0 😮💨😮💨
@@AbdizzzEditz No, they fell asleep.
Second Nelson Mandela House in the background went and visited the estate while taking in a match a years ago and managed to get in the block and is one of the reasons I've always in your words "had a bit of a soft spot" for Bristol City. Nice areas around both grounds in Bristol, but Ashton Gate is very smart ground and next to the famous tower block and garage block etc. As for the point on day trippers the day trippers that go and visit different stadiums as neutrals or to cheer on a second/adopted team is absolutely fine to me, but the ones that either claim to support a team and are totally clueless about and the ones belonging to the corporate prawn sandwich brigade are the annoying ones.
Definitely need to get down here on a matchday mate, will have to show you around on a matchday!
Awesome mate, up for that
Yes, I'll second that. Great atmosphere on a match day. Sample the fanzone, the food, the cider, the concourse. Obviously you need to sit in one of the three home stands as the away facilities are basic compared with our home areas! Great vid Ry. Keep up the good work!
Been ages since I last saw a game and I call myself a city fan the stadium looks great better than it ever has I hope we get further this season COYR
As a city fan I recommend you get down there for Bristol City v Cardiff city on 5th October. That will be the best atmosphere!
@@GoodFriday2024 oooo yes that’ll be tasty!
@@RysFootyParadiseor come down on flag day will be amazing atmosphere especially by the three lions pub
5th of October pending the Old Bill not messing with the schedule too hard. They left it late last season so it will either be 12:30 on the 5th or the 6th.
2008 final i was there. Still hurts to this day, dont think I'll ever forget it. I remember when it started to go all downhill
It's a pity you couldn't get into the concourses, they are awesome.
Home sweet home.
Cracking on a matchday outside must say vs a lot of stadiums where u cant drink or relax, instead kettled in asap normally!
Not sure if you’ve been but could you go to derby I’m new to the channel and already love it 👍
Thanks! 😊 Derby is deffo on the list! Not too far from me, maybe 90 mins
@@RysFootyParadise thanks hopefully you can do soon can’t wait 😊
I can’t be the only one who got “East End Bounce Around” stuck in their head after it went viral (or maybe I am the only one)
Ry you walked underneath Nelson Mandela house and didn’t give a nod to Only Fools ! Great vid 👍🏻
Walsall FC stadium tour please, inside the stadium from all stands
*1982*
You didn’t mention the fact that the block of flats next to ground is Nelson Mandela house from Only Fools and Horses
We share are stadium with Bristol bears it not a boring stadium it quite good the only problem we have is we start well and finish bar or compete opposite and we sell are best players
the tag "boring" isn't mine, it was thrown at Bristol City from other TH-camrs - I visited to try and dismiss that tag :)
Can u do Exeter 👍
As a city fan I’d have to disagree, more out of necessity than belief. Unfortunately we are a team that doesn’t ever win anything and rarely has any reason to celebrate. I think 10 years of that has just knocked the stuffing out of our supporters.
I’m watching Bristol City first game of the season play the Mighty Hull (I’m a Hull fan)
Nice one, looking forward to the start of the season 🤩
@@RysFootyParadise what’s funny is my grandad is also a Bristol Rovers fan so he will really want the robins to lose
Can you do Watford fc next please
On club facilities and operations… (and this might be a bit boring too, but is significant for all clubs)… Bristol City were the first EFL club to achieve GreenCode accreditation. A lot of power from solar panels from the refurb, local food and drink suppliers, subsidised bus to ground scheme etc. Also the new training facility is a neat mini stadium with green credentials and I’d bet the players would praise the training ground facilities - a million miles away from what it used to be. The women’s game has grown in stature here too and used Ashton Gate last season like the men’s team (sadly not the best season, but the women’s game is promoted and supported). Premier league ready ? Facilities - yes. Playing - more waiting and seeing !
Standing in front of Nelson Mandela house
my entire year group walked at the vip entrance because of a school trip
4:40 they aren't our rivals any more as they've not been in our division since 2001. We do still hate each other but it's not a rivalry.
Go to the 2nd Tier of the Away Stand. Man, it's crazy up there!!
never were that scarf again
🤣
Your powers of persuasion are unlimited. Inside yet another stadium!
On an invincibles streak mate, until I make it to old Trafford and fall at 49…
@@RysFootyParadise talking of falling… Rooney definitely fell in that game. Without anyone touching him 😉
Hahaha brutal Sol Campbell
Not seen one of your videos before but I was convinced you were a Bristolian with your accent!
Haha Herefordshire originally, Gloucestershire past 11 years 😅
Who came here because they are Gasheads 💙🤍⚽️
It's john atyeo (at-e-o)
Nelson Mandela House in the background lol
I forgot it was filmed in Bristol 😅
Elke ... Ry, no Paradise weather, but normal english paradise weather 😂 fine report, please go on ... your tipp ESP-GER? Or let your dog say that again, please ..😅
Haha thanks for watching as always 👍🏾 I think Germany will win and it’ll be a Germany v England final 😉 which we’ll lose on penalties of course 🤣
@@RysFootyParadise Ry, you are so nice and funny, this time WE need the final win, in the EM '28 YOU can have it, ok!? DEAL!👌
You have enough trophies we only have 1 🤣
@@RysFootyParadise ... Do you vote the right, too?
Defo come back on a match day it will be so much different
I love Bristol City
I'm surprised you did not mention the twin flat blocks (Nelson Mandela House) behind the Dolman Stand, home of "Only Fools And Horses" Peckham (Not) Bristol (Yes)
@@fletchmartin7804 haha I know, bloodyell I could have worn my Nags Head FC shirt as well 🤣
You missed Delboy and Rodney's flat Nelson Mandela house in the background behind the stadium.
Nelson Mandela house is round the corner also.
Wearing a rovers scarf has earned your self a sub 😅 Great video, first time i have came across the channel. The old east end at Ashton gate (away end) was a great stand to create a atmosphere with the low roof. Not seen the revamped stadium yet as we have not played them since 2013... I am sure every fan of each Bristol club who was around when we played each other regularly last time in the 90s would tell you there is no better game you could attended.
Haha 😅 glad you enjoyed it mate
Do you take requests for stadium tours, Ry?
@@charlieeady830 yeah so long as the video will do okay with views 😅
@@RysFootyParadise yeah, that’s fair. I’d quite like to see a stadium tour for Charlton Athletic or Colchester United please
Come back on a matchday
I argue that we aren’t so much boring but just stagnant lol unlike most Bristolians the club is careful with its money lol but have spent a lot on developing youth to sell on & keep the club self sufficient when most clubs struggling financially
Look at the difference in stadiums between city and rovers💀
Not just a boring team with a boring stadium. But Bristol City are some what a tinpot club.
Really isn’t a great time to visit the ground! The concourse is where you should have gone. Hope you get to have a match day experience!
U.T.G ❤🎉❤🎉❤ Bristol is better blue ❤🎉❤🎉❤
They say boring but were 42 years old and miles a head of that amateur club from Bath, i mean the dark side of the City
Don’t know what the guy you seen saying about the basketball
Entrance there isn’t any they building it next door to the stadium soon
Mugging me off I reckon after seeing that Rovers scarf 🤣
Have you done Wigan Athletic? Give us a shout if you want to do a video.
Kind of - I did “closest 5 stadiums to old Trafford” but I’ll get back there on Matchday if you fancy hopping on a video, drop us a message on insta 👍🏾
This opinion is the opinion of a certain youtuber named Vizeh, who supports burnley if im correct i guess this season we will find out at there's and at are who's more boring as they were were relegated last season from the prem after only one season mind you so much more exciting than us clearly lol
I’ll try get to that game at Ashton Gate… see if he’s about 👀
@@RysFootyParadise call him out for us on video, hold him accountable for his deluded accusations
You missed a trick not mentioning and with your love for only fools and horses the tower blocks in the back ground as your leaving the ground is Nelson Mandela house.
I think you’re going to Nelson Mandela house on your next video.
I wasn’t fully with it that day, a bit rough 😅 but will return!
go to portman road if you want character cant beat it
just watched your vlog on our last game lol well come back to the stadium of character in the premiership !
Haha love the old skool grounds! 🚜
💪🍺
Bristol City fc is my team. I have been to some of there games
John ‘Aty-o’
The West Country football clubs have not achieved much in winning any meaningful trophies. Bristol Rovers won the FA Cup the year the Titanic went down. Swindon the Lg Cup in the 60's. Bristol City have never won a major cup, and have only been in the top division for four seasons, in the 1970's. So very poor all round football wise, but Rugby Union yes some successful clubs in the area.
Rovers have never won the fa cup mate
It's not a boring club just got a boring chairman/owner.
"Att-yo"
Visited many times with Brentford. Impossible to park. Difficult to get to. Fans have a real attitude problem. Avoid it if you can !!! Enjoyable podcast as ever mate.
Cheers buddy 👍🏾
@@RysFootyParadise Yep you would have thought they'd have built a multi story carpark nearby by now.
Hampden Park
Best club in England 🎉
Nothing about the bsr you walked past being probably the most seen bar in the world. Thats the bar from the football fans cheering thats been turned into a meme worldwide.
Ooh, how impressive is that?
