Well, this is Train Simulator Classic. The locomotive models take time to make, and most likely would be more hassle to remove or make the drive links invisible just for a short video. I just use my imagination and don't put a lot of realistic logic in these video's as I understand the limitations this game has.
I agree so much as a railway fan because towing it with its drive links can cause major damage like to the pistons if it’s been sitting a while and note that the parts fall off after time
UP #3454 and the Gustavtime SW1500 pull up with the very rusty 9000 class. they pull the 9000 class slowly into the workshop. After that, the restoration work begins. The 9000 class restoration takes a bit but it's not rusty anymore. The rusty 9000 class reemerges as UP #9000 aka the prototype UP 9000. WB UP #9000
Really proud of that old steam locomotive that was withstand a ton of huge weight but never the less it’s prove, I love I hope you have the next restoration of the the other locomotive and maybe plan on getting rid of the ghost before it gets to the workshop
It would be really cool to see the 9000 union pacific steam locomotive restored. However the 9000 is not a articulated steam locomotive that bends around curves and is a rigid frame steam locomotive. That means the 9000 could only operate on long radius curves like on the plains but not necessarily in the mountains. The 9000 is limited range steam locomotive. My fellow railfans that know about this whats your opinion?
Union Pacific #9000 has been successfully restored to working order, it now pulled a intermodal heritage train as its first task since the restoration. The train consisted of Union Pacific 9000 class #9000, a generator car, and a whole consist of intermodal containers. Railfans were awestruck by #9000's awesome display of power just as it had back in the good old days. The train departed Chicago pulling its intermodal load to Cheyenne. With that being said, welcome back #9000!
I bought a Sunset Brass 1/48 Two Rail UP 9000 in Italy back on 1978...Never ran it ( I was a HO modeler then) but now , in 2024-25 going into On42, Queensland Govt.Railways 1930s...and:a high level O gauge Oval to run a UP freight..." Come si deve" ( as one must!) 12 nd:AA20 14 drivers:have always fascinated me...I even debeloped drawings:for a Bar Frame Style Chasis for an 1/48 scale AA20 ( Ussr)... DocAV Aussie.
Hammond, Indiana was once the rail capital of the US with more tracks per capita than any other place. And the main high school there, Hammond High has (had) purple & white as the school colors. So, Gustavtime Railroad is only carrying on a long tradition. Now, if it were only a real RR. And, that it doesn't end up like HHS, which was croaked a couple of years ago and turned into a 'central' hs. Also, realistic that this rehab was done in Chicago, I think. Hammond borders Chicago on the southside. Finally, where is a Tasty Cola train?
Up fixed the 9000 class but in real life restore this class is very complicated due to the wheel arrangements and besides it's a nightmare to restore the three cylinder
Okay, I hate to break it up to you UP, but you should've kept 9000 running so she wouldn't be an extremely difficult challenge to restore (no offense, 844)
I heard that she was the only one that could go long distance with perfect weight how ever she burned more slowly than the others kind of locomotives. 9000 series rule. I think she did Cajun pass. Long distances work.
WTH. 9000 is in a museum, and it made no sense to use its number for this restored 4-12-2. You could have just used 9011, 9021, or 9034. Not that i’m complaining, just advice.
Ok something wrong about this Union Pacific’s 9000s class was a plains locomotive since they have 4-12-2 (the wheel layout front-middle-rear) because of the 12 driving wheels it made the locomotive very stiff and could not preform correctly on tracks like Sherman hill and city’s
It’s back now that is one incredible incredible union pacific steam engine and people say steam engines are old they are so wrong steam engines are iron horses
Congratulations! Now 9000 doesn't have to rot away! Now it can transport things once again!
That’s right it could carry grains of stuff
Just a little fun facts, the 9000 class was the longest single engine base, because of its length it was basically used on the Cajun pass
It's Canjon pass
@@andrewpadillo9230wrong again pal. Cajon pass.
I thought the Russian copy was longer. I think its name was the aa20? But idk
@@Camaro_man437 Sorry
@Freddybear437 Also It is the AA20, 4-14-4 wheel configuration.
Excellent work restoring the Union Pacific No. 9000!!
You should now do a 4000 and 9000 doubleheader!!
I am so agree with that i want to them side by side to see how big they are
Omg she looks so beautiful i got to say she is your best one let i love her keep up the amazing work and tack care of her to
Just a note for any future videos. They would NEVER tow an unrestored steam loco with the drive links still on it. To much chance for major damage
I wondered about that . The drivers must be very precise to work , but when they do … wow !

Didn't they tow the up other steam locomotives still with the rods attached to get restored ?

Awesome restoration and beautiful looking train
8:29 It looks as if the engine had been levitated above the rails a little.
Yeah i can see that but hey it's video game strange can always happen sometimes
Makes you wonder if the Gustav crew will ever find a cnj blue comet someday hidden away.
I wish this was real!!! 😢❤
The first time I saw one of Gustavtime videos I thought it was!!!
Union pacific 9000 rebuild
THE LARGEST LOCOMOTIVE
The second largest locomotive
Largest surviving non articulating locomotive
Excellent job restoring Union Pacific #9000! Now it can rule the rails just like Big Boy #4014 and #4000 as well as UP #844!

Really great graphics here.
How did you get the steam engine to not be powered when towing it in the game. I have been trying to do that, but I have no idea how. Great video.
This is achieved by removing the BIN and BAN files and saving them in a folder as a backup.
It’s beautiful too ❤
I love your videos
Day 2 ask for: transfer to the restoration of the abandoned E8 warbonnet part 4. pls 🙏🏻
If only this happened in real life
Where did you download/buy this from? Or if you made it where can I get it?

Yes she back welcome home girl
I honestly thought it was gonna be another up 9000 class as the real 9000 is on display in Pomona California
Most people asked for it to be 9000
@@GUSTAVTIME I see, but don't they find weird that real 9000 is being restored after being found when the real live 9000 is still around?
2 locomotives to move the 9000? Is it that heavy?
Have you ever found a locomotive that cannot be restored back to working conditions?
the power of steam so awesome great looking loco
Union pacific 9000 class
you should show off the whole fleet
How many container cars have you got on this consist behind the UP9000? And also did the same locomotive 🚂 pull a these cars IRL?
I don't know, but it took a lot of effort to throw away those containers here.
Those were and still are some pulling locomotives still today
All one needs is 2-5 million dollars, and this could actually happen.

Industrial power openly displayed. Amazing to imagine . At least one civilian was impressed. I think people would stop and stare and feel reassured.
