    Hope the video was useful! Are you an in or out kind of clipper?!

      Out... apart from the grigri on a DMM Rhino carabiner.

      I'm a gate-in person but take cams off by grabbing them, rotating upwards, and unclipping in one semi-smooth motion. This means the cam comes off the harness in your hand in roughly the right orientation. So cams go gate out (so that they're gate in when rotated up).
      Nut biners are gate-in, front right. Draws are gate-in Yosemite racked (mostly front right behind the nuts). Cams are gate-out on the front left, small to big with anything over BD #3 on the back left. Weird, but it works for me.

    An interesting racking system. Very different from my own, but clearly much thought has gone into it. And the rationale seems quite sound.

    This is a really nice trad vid idea. I've gotten a few ideas of things to try.
    There's one conceptual element that seems weird to me though: generally speaking, it seems more convenient to me to keep interchangeable elements (like draws) to the back, and things I might want to have a look at (like cams, nuts sets etc.) closer to the front.
    The other part to that, in my experience, is that I might not extend every placements. I find grabbing stuff from the front is easier for me.

    I use far back loop for my shoes when not rappeling down but walking

    Having a fifth loop right at the back, you could girth hitch/lark's foot your prussiks around that to save on racking space/carabiners.

    Good morning Jez. Interesting to hear the reason for quick draws at the front. 🤔 Will have a play around with that one.👍

    Gates out. Nuts, Tricams on right then cams on left and the rest spread about. Great vid a normal.

    Gates in and at the front like you! I have nuts on the left and cams on the right though with a mix of hexes/slings dotted around

    The only thing I will recommend to people is that if you have different brands of cams like I do. Color code the carabiner to match black diamond colors. For instance a #7 master cam(blue) is close to a #2 black diamond so they both get a yellow biner. The reason I go with black diamond colors is because just about everyone knows their sizes/colors

    Jez, you always draw attention to the fact your videos run over... today 2 min Tuesday is over 8 mins! Once lock down is over, does that mean if we book one day guiding, we get 3 days extra thrown in for free? :-)

      Uh oh, I'm going to have to be more careful with my timings!!

    Do you only use dragon cams for work? Why not for play? 🤔

    • @JBMountainSkills
      @JBMountainSkills  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I find the C4s just a fraction nicer to use... The Dragons are ace, especially for work as I'm often on singles, so the extendable sling is a big bonus then.
