I WAS THERE. IT WAS AMAZING! I had to sit down after that performance because my whole body was in shock from just witnessing a 2ne1 performance. It was the most amazing surprise of the entire weekend for me, tbh. It was absolutely worth the money and effort of going to Coachella for me. Lol

CL is certainly a great leader, her love for her group members is probably unmatched, but the women's love for each other and the meaning of 2NE1 is special by itself. It is who they were, a very unique set of woman who's group idea was to go against the mold of kpop. In the rebellion they grew real friendship and comradery. They also spearheaded the global success of kpop. So it is no wonder that 2NE1 set precedents before and they set them now. CL though absolutely deserves her credit for leading them to this moment. A strong woman.

민지가 원래 메인댄서라 퍼포먼스도 제일 깔끔하지만, 춤추면서 노래할때의 보컬도 제일 안정적이었지. 비주얼이나 패션에서의 화려함이랄까 끼랄까 이런게 좀 부족해서 역량에 비해 주목못받은 면이 있는데, 실상 무대에서의 퍼포먼스를 떠받쳐주는 기둥이라고 생각했었음. 오랫만에 보니 예전에 보이던 막내티, 촌티 이런게 완전히 벗겨졌어. 원래 기본능력이 있던 애가 이제 연예인으로서 만개한 느낌이랄까? 무대에서 확 튀어보이는건 다들 비슷하게 느낀듯해.

the reason 2 ne 1 does so well in the west is cos we don't need idols who are forced to become stick thin, look just one way, have the same style and sing in just the same style either. 2 ne 1 has unmatched fierceness and charisma which is why no other girl groups come close to them. Their confidence is exuberant and catching and they genuinely seem happy in themselves. I'm biased though bc I'm a blackjack forever.

And they were not anorexic like a lot of kpop idols are now and didn't do surgery even if the management told them to. Bom did it bc she wanted to, Minzy did it bc she was having a nose operation anyway. But you can find a lot of other groups where the girls were forced to do it, forced to change their loud and fun personality for a shy and quiet one and forced to have the paper cup diet and be severely underweight.2ne1's physique was never like that which is why they were bullied (and now that they aren't part of a company and have strict management, they care even less as can be seen by the fact that they don't care about the general kpop standards). Their faces weren't remodelled with plastic surgery which emphasises on the same korean beauty features (oval face, shaved jaw, thin and long nose, big eyes etc.) which is also why they were known as the "ugly girl group" by the media at the time. Look into it if you weren't a blackjack back then. They were bullied a lot for their physical style, as people, and also for their music, which wasnt the cutesy type expected from kpop idols back then. And they're still kpop idols what are YOU talking about?

It's 2022 stop being salty because they disbanded, but be grateful that we have the chance to see them as a group performing here in Coachella. the reason 2 ne 1 does so well in the west is cos we don't need idols who are forced to become stick thin, look just one way, have the same style and sing in just the same style either. 2 ne 1 has unmatched fierceness and charisma which is why no other girl groups come close to them. Their confidence is exuberant and catching and they genuinely seem happy in themselves. I'm biased though bc I'm a blackjack forever.

And they were not anorexic like a lot of kpop idols are now and didn't do surgery even if the management told them to. Bom did it bc she wanted to, Minzy did it bc she was having a nose operation anyway. But you can find a lot of other groups where the girls were forced to do it, forced to change their loud and fun personality for a shy and quiet one and forced to have the paper cup diet and be severely underweight.2ne1's physique was never like that which is why they were bullied (and now that they aren't part of a company and have strict management, they care even less as can be seen by the fact that they don't care about the general kpop standards). Their faces weren't remodelled with plastic surgery which emphasises on the same korean beauty features (oval face, shaved jaw, thin and long nose, big eyes etc.) which is also why they were known as the "ugly girl group" by the media at the time. Look into it if you weren't a blackjack back then. They were bullied a lot for their physical style, as people, and also for their music, which wasnt the cutesy type expected from kpop idols back then. And they're still kpop idols what are YOU talking about?
