    The answer is simple if you don't leave Zydrunas out. He is the strongest man in history and probably will always be. No one ever has been that good at both overhead strength and deadlift strength while still being one of the best athletically. He is the strongest man that has ever walked this earth.

    Thank you for this interview. It's good to hear him talk in full sentences. Usually he only gets to say "I am very happy" between events. This is a great and rare opportunity to find out his opinion on training and competing.

    LOVE that he mentioned the IFSA domination in 2009. It's been undersold how much harder those contests were than WSM for the same years.

      Yep the ifsa riegns and Arnold riegns when included make Zydrunas much bigger champ than other strongmen also the number of times he was 2nd or 3rd consistently in top 3 for years

    That was a great episode, Z is an excellent english speaker. Really missed having him at WSM last year, pulling for him to get the 5th this year.

    Zydrunas has made an Amazing and unrivaled progress in strength sports! From being the strongest silver medalist in the World, first in the 2000 IPF World Championship, then being second in WSM from 2002 to 2004, to become the most succesfull strength athlete ever! Who else can say they have dominated the strength scene for almost a decade?

    It is really cool that you had such a legend on the podcast!
    I look forward to the next already. Would be nice if you managed to get Eddie Hall (my favourite) too.

    This is the only really decent interview of Big Z that I'm aware of. There was one done in Kenya that was OK, where they included some questions about his time in politics, which added a bit of colour to the interview, but this over all, is better.

    What he said about using machines really makes sense, makes me realize why I rarely got hurt in the lumber mill lifting more than guys bigger than me could Lyft

    a question that keeps me awake: are we supposed to say savikkas or saviskas? heard both for Savickas

    • @kring3l0rd
      @kring3l0rd 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      *****
      oof, some names can get really butchered when taken through the translation process...
      names dont usually get transformed when passing the language barriere. Savickas is an exception it seems ^^
      i ll take your word for it and call him Saviskas

    • @nickkraw1
      @nickkraw1 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      For all English speakers pronounce it sounding this out: Saveetskas, but the "ee" is kind of quick and soft so it almost sounds like an i.

    I'm super curious as to how he went about getting his nerves sorted out after his injury. I suspect I have something similar (though not as severe) but I don't know for sure, I'm just guessing. My doc doesn't want to have it checked out, puts it down to stress. But I'm not convinced. The problem is I don't know who to turn to take take greater interest and dig a little deeper.

    Big Z is definitely the strongest man ever. Magnus Ver Magnersson and Marius were better athletes. But, just straight power, Big Z is #1
