This is one of the most Magnificent Worship pieces - E V E R - Written .... And Shall Reign Forever ... Forever and Ever.... King of Kings Lord of Lord.... King of Kings...
Reminds me of the massed choir (500 boys) of St Pauls' College in Adelaide in 1970. The school performed this piece without conductor as our music director had to play the Town Hall Organ behind us, with a brass section from Rostrevor College accompanying. It's stirring music to listen to, even better to sing the soprano line as a 10 year old boy. Thank you Brother Michael Damien McNamara for such experiences through school.
Thanks to you Handel! I know you don't know what the internet is or youtube but trust me it's a big deal. Your music is still living on creating joy in the hearts of men.
We are NOT the only country to have internet. Think before you speak. Shame on you. Apologize to those wonderful folks putting on a wonderful piece praising Him with His most cherished sound, the human voice. Praise God.
@@Forman218 she is talking about G.Handel who is in Heaven. And of course he knows, because we will know Jesus and we will never stop learning! 1 Corinthians 13:11-12 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things. For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these [is] charity.
And He shall reign for ever and ever! Thank you for sharing. God Bless You All. Jesus is Lord. Hallelujah! Thank God for George Handel. King of kings and Lord of lords! So absolutely awesome. Thank you for this production!
I'm an Athiest through and through but by crikey, whomever wrote this must've had some pretty deep conviction about the one he or she worships. It bought tears to my eyes and the hair on my neck stood up. To each his or her own and may your god be with you at all times.
Garry Travers An atheist- saying to others about God? Do I detect doubt in your beliefs? No better time than near the world wide Christian religious festival - Christmas - A saviour is born 👍
@@Ronald7077 Nah mate, no doubts at all, I just accept that others have their beliefs and leave it at that. As long as they don't try to push their beliefs on me I don't mind. There is no reason why civility should be forsaken.

The Choir of the model and Comprehensive school Obersberg sings "Halleluja " (Flashmob) for the Final Concert of the 66th Bad Hersfeld Festival 2016 in the Abbey Ruin in Bad Hersfeld, under the Direction of Ulrich Meiß. The Choir is instrumental supported by the brass ensemble of the Obersberg model and Comprehensive school and the Konrad Duden School from Bad Hersfeld. Anne Rill accompanies at the Piano.
Loved this video, been to Bad Hersfeld many times when I was stationed in Germany in the 1960s and 1970s. Germany is a great country. Merry Christmas 2017 From Kentucky, USA
Normally when the Halleluja chorus starts everyone STANDS throughout the singing of this Hymn To the Almighty. The custom Started with the King of England. Of all the music ever written and played the Messiah and especially the Halleluja chorus is the finest. I am sure others will disagree, but for me it is the closest we as mortals can get to singing in HIS choir of heavenly angels. Pax+
CONGRATULATIONS to all of you. What a wonderful way of presenting one of the world's greatest pieces of music, Haendel's HALLELUJAH. Yes, I missed the traditional audience participation when everyone stands. On the other hand, had the folks in Bad Hersfeld done so, the students who got up to surprise the audience with their voices would have been lost in the shuffle. I remember a German orchestra and chorus performing Haendel's HALLEJUAH in (then) Bombay (now Mumbai) in 1979 or 1980. Practically all Europeans and Americans got up while most Indians remained seated, looking puzzled. It's just different cultural conditioning. If you could work with the Goethe Institute in Munich, they might send you on a tour through various countries. Should you make it to Philadelphia, only 2 hours south of New York City and 3 hours north of Washington, DC, let me know. I'd be happy to write an article about you, you wonderful musical ambassador. Warm regards to all of you from Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Henrik Eger, www.DramaAroundTheGlobe.com
Thank you for the kind words. This is the mission of the school Chorus. Learn from the world, learn from the other culture. Really they like to be on tour as musical ambassadors. See more about the activity and the countries they visited under the following link: mso-schulchor.de/
Wee stand because the King of England (who happened to be German) was so impressed by the work that he stood. Of course, allhis loyal subjects could notstay seated while he stood, so-- Thus the tradition was born.
@@karenklinck1431 The audiences here in the United States stand when this magnificent piece begins.........it is so inspirational and a majestic tribute to our King of Kings + + +
We are very close to you. I grew up going to Catholic School and was in the choir when Mass was still in Latin. You brought me back to a wonderful time of my life. Brought out a few tears of joy. I hope you don’t mind me singing along with you. We are with you at Louisiana’s Gulf Coast in the United States of America. I have subscribed to a wonderful group awaiting more music. I played music for 40 years and was delighted with your sound. Bless you all.
Andy Williams is applauding somewhere in heaven right now. There is no better tribute to the man who made that song as famous as it was, than to introduce it to a young lady, at her loving father's side. Well done.
awesome job Kaylee and choir! Best version I have ever heard! God bless you all. And, yes I would pay for this version of Hallelujah! sell it and make money for the school!
Gorgeous! The King (George II?) was so moved when he heard it, (1742?) that he stood. I thought at first that these these folks were clods, but it doesn't matter. Handel lives on, and rivals only J S Bach for inspirational and eternal music!
Andy Studebaker: Definitely George II, king of the Kingdom of Great Britain and king of the Kingdom of Ireland. Also Duke of Brunswick-Luneburg and prince-elector of the Holy Roman Empire.
Es gibt Zeiten in denen ich Bad Hersfeld vermisse. An meine Zeit dort denke ich jedenfalls immer gern zurück, auch an die Menschen mit denen ich dort gearbeitet und gelebt habe.
I thought this was beautifully done. People keep writing why isn't the audience standing? I sang this in high school choir. The audience didn't stand. I didn't know anything about the audience is supposed to stand. I'm sure a lot of people are not aware they are supposed to stand. Anyways I thought it was brilliant! Love from Texas U.S.A.
You totally messed up a whole bunch of people’s mind with that “I don’t know what was in your head stuff” Just so you can see... THEY WERE SINGING FOR ALL OF US.
It's the Stiftsruine in Bad Hersfeld (Germany). Considered one of the largest Romanesque basilicas north of the Alps, it is today the largest Romanesque church ruin in the world- In Summer every year there ist a theater and musical festival in there. This year the fantastic musical Hair is performed in the ruin.
Händel, seiner großartigen Musik und den Musikern gelingt, was unmöglich erscheint: Die Zeit bleibt stehen. Toll!

Such great acoustics !
Sehr beeindruckend! Halleluja!

Marvellous !!! Thank You from Paris, France
Loved it...Greetings from Erie, Pennsylvania.
Thanks from Australia. Wonderful rendition truly heartwarming. 🇦🇺🇦🇺💕💕🍺🍺
I was always taught that this is the one song that you should always stand when it is performed. So say we all !!
Keep telling people. Stand even if you alone know why. Some things should never pass from culture.
Given the early applause at the end, this audience doesn’t know anything about the tradition of standing for it, let alone what it comes from.
Yes this is true.
DANKE! Und Frieden auf Erden!
GÄNSEHAUT PUR, DANKE SCHÖN!
Ausgescheissnet! So Schön, es gebt mir "goosebumps"
