- Step by step how to make a clay nativity scene out of pottery clay. I will show you how to make the base for the project- 3 basic characters- Mary, Joseph, and manger. When completed the project is dried in the air you can color with underglaze or glaze or leave it white as I do.
Happy Holidays and see you in the next video!
I am a freelance ceramics teacher and potter. I studied art education at the School of Applied Arts in Zagreb, Croatia, where I fell in love with clay. My passion for working in clay and teaching ceramics led me to create this TH-cam channel to share this information.
I successfully run the Art Studio gallery PI in Groznjan, which has been proclaimed as City of the artist since 1969 and as such is an International cultural center.
I have a web store where you can check out some of my personal work I make to sell.

So adorable! Love hand made. Did you fire this after or just air dry? And how do you keep the clay from drying out while you are making the figurines? I am just starting out and this will be my first project. I love nativities. Thank you.
thank you penny....this is ordinary white clay but for firing in professional kilns at 980...while modeling the figurines I keep them wrapped or covered with a nylon bag and so gradually and slowly
its wonderful but i needs a 3 min veideo i did this and shooede at time lapse thankyou
Does ceramic clay not need to be fired to completely dry? Or did you use a specific clay? I would like to try this at home and want to paint mine!
Hi Dirdre...professional clay must be fired in pottery kiln and this is what i show in this video...you can try with polimer clay that does not need proffesional kiln and you can dry your work only on the air and than colored
I’ve used a white clay I have to bake at the end. What kind of clay do you use? And I do not recognize the black glue you use to hold the building up. Nor do I know what substance it is you mix the mixture with water you use to stick the heads on and stick the baby Jesus in place. Very nice video. Thank you.
I also use white clay...the glue that you see is white clay mixed with water and that mixture become glue. The consistency of the glue must be like puding.
hello i was wondering if you have a supplier or manufacturer of cribs in the philippines
No, i don't....it is really very distance from my country (croatia) and i'm freelance artist so i don't have so much cribs...i usually made only one or max two pieces on time. 🙂
@@Petielement5 but you don't know where I can buy on a large scale?
@@TRAILERGAMEBR no, i'm sorry
Joseph was a carpenter why does he get a shepherds crook? Otherwise I love this!
