Never used one of these, didn't even know they existed until last week. Bought one anyway, should be here next week. Good video for knowing what sounds there are cheers
I was willing you to hit the pitched perc...so close! Drum synthesis on this could be really cool. This synth sounds way better than I thought it would.
Also if you could do a video on the other synths? The power/sound of the synths are a real deal breaker for me. Are you able to make presets from scratch as well? (im sure you can just double checking.)
You can load a init patch in the synths. Electric, Bassline, and Tubesynth only have 1 init patch. The Hype synth has like 12 init patches. I only showed 1 in this video.
@@MatthewStratton Thank you for the reply and sorry for my noob'ness in advance. So you mean I can only create 1 sound on the top 3 synths? or theres 1 initial patch template and I can save multiple patches? sorry if I'm being confusing my terminology isn't great.
My MPC just gave me a message that 'No more plug-in programs can be added to the project', and I hit the ceiling with only six.... can you check if the Force has a similar limitation?
Pro-tip: Dont place your mike on the table with your Force. Every time you hit a pad there is a deep THUD that tries to blow out the walls in my house.... (alternatively, filter out the low)
Thanks for the comment. I am willing to take donations for a microphone stand. It is either that or use the camera mic the is facing the desk (trust me it doesn't sound that good).
@@MatthewStratton I'm not negging you. Just saying that if you listen to your video with anything capable of reproducing low frequencies there is a serious thud every time you hit those pads. Do you record the audio from the Force from its line outs and then mix in your voice? Or is it all recorded "in room"? How about placing the mike on a pillow? Can you filter out the very lowest frequencies in your video edit? (this is common practice) Just saying that something that seems like a relatively easy step would improve the quality of your videos. And perhaps extra "important" since your topic is sound and sound production.
I hear the rumble as well. I mix with a sub too. It certain hasn't produced a thud to blow out the walls. It is an issue I want to solve though. I do strive to make the quality of my videos as high as possible and continually seek methods to improve so I appreciate the feedback. I can try placing the stand on some foam that I have for studio monitors to see if that helps. I experiment with rolling off the lows but didn't in the video. I will look into improving this area of my production though.
Hello. The midi keyboard would be just for inputting notes. You can use the pads on it for that so I don't think a midi keyboard is necessary unless your a pianist.
Never thought I'd be tempted by a preset synth, but I love me some ear candy. The patches sound uniformly great to me. I mean, where are the duds, where you say "I'd never use that." Okay, sure, the controls are "dumbed down" compared to a complete synthesizer but who cares? Every parameter you tweaked changed the sound in engaging ways. Is it possible for a synth to be "100% sweet spot"???
I am just glad to see Akai making stand alone boxes again - instead of controllers that have to be tethered to a computer. Thanks for this review!
The Force is strong with this one
thank you for this demonstration of hype!
Now this synth on MPCX is worth it. Now my MPCX is the ultimate Groovebox production MIDI machine

Thanks for addressing hype synth Matthew you rock dude
You're welcome! It was requested in the comments so I put something out there. Thanks for the comment!

Just hit the knobs button to go between 1-8 and 9-16 when inScreen mode
My synth seems to get louder the longer I hold the pad, I’m not sure how to get rid of that. I want it to be a steady.
Thank you for answering my prayers
Can you initialize the preset? Like start with a basic saw wave and create from there?
Thank you for your perfect tutorial as always.
Thanks for your support.
I can't believe it has a "pretty" legitimate synth. A nice surprise.
Elvin Lewis Four of them.
Niice preset demo :)
It says its also an wavetable synth
Wondering if we could import our own wavetables ? Aka serum vst style ?
What is polyphony of hype?
Desperate to have this on mpc live
Hi!
Can I create one Hyp Synth and send several midi channels to it (for example: bass, pad and lead)?
Thanks!
You can create 3 instances of Hype synth, one bass, one pad, and one lead (up to 8 plugins of Hype synth) and send different MIDI channels to each.
awesome just what I was looking for!!
I was wondering if you are able to assign LFO's and parameters on a matrix?
Also if you could do a video on the other synths? The power/sound of the synths are a real deal breaker for me. Are you able to make presets from scratch as well? (im sure you can just double checking.)

The max amount of Plugins on the MPC LIVE is eight. The Force has the same limitation.
@@MatthewStratton Thanks, I found the remaining two, altough I don't know how they remained in the pool....
When you hit 8 you can just render the least "foreground" synth lines to wav loops, works like a dream.
Can you use the arpeggiator with samples or drum tracks?
Yes.
Why the mpc did get this
interesting video

Sounds like you should sample that deep thud ;-)
Thinking about getting this. Should i get a midi keyboard too or is this truely all-in-one ?

Matthew Stratton excellent thank you
Can you produce different timesignatures ? Thanks
Still exploring, when I find out how I will do a video.

It's a cool synth.
Okay, we didn‘t get it on the One 😭 but hope dies last...

IS this plugin available in Live?
Not as of firmware version 2.4
@@MatthewStratton But will be in the future?
I don't know. Maybe in Firmware 3.0? Your guess is as good as mine.
Hopefully in 2.5 and with import own wavetable option xD the dream is big
So glad I put him on fast forward so i didn't find out all he does the whole video is turn the KNOBS! "Peace out ya'll"
Good job. Fast forward is a great tool.
Get machine studio already has everything this has and more
Completely different workflow.
Lol
Maschine studio is an controller for software
This thing is completly STANDALONE
No comparison needed.
