    enjoy watching your videos, thank you for sharing. I would love to see an instructional video of your process. How do you work a wash, proper speed for running and feeding the dry washer, how ofter you clean out as you go, etc. I'm running a 140S and have found some color, but I know I could use some tips on getting the most of these amazing machines. Just started getting back out in the AZ sun myself, I'm not as tuff as you guys braving the heat:)

    Great work and lots of it gents!! I think you've refined your process down to be very efficient. I really like the idea of using a generator to power an electric vacuum. How much fuel do you use over a weekend of dry washing? Why the 151 this time over the 140? Wasps really like meat and water/sweat. I have shade structures for desert camping, so I know what you mean about the value of shade. It can really make a person not suffer too bad which makes for more work done. Now that I've moved to AZ, I joined a group and they took me out to find my first gold with a dry washer. I did all of the shoveling as the newbie! Can't wait to go again!!

    Can you tell me why u don’t take the time to remove the large stones before vacuuming up the sand and nuggets? Just seems like it would be easier on the equipment to get rid of the larger stones...

    • @IBRAKEFORBEDROCK
      @IBRAKEFORBEDROCK  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thats just seems like another step that can be skipped. Its a shop vac, so its designed to be used with stuff like this. Acually fine sand seems to do more damage to parts, impellers, housings, etc

    How long does the screen last? I see the fraying up at the top and you two are still recovering a ton! Thanks for posting your video! I'm in Northern Nevada (Reno) and I might take the time and money to invest in a dry washer. Blessings!

      The fabric will last quite a while . Replacing it is a bit of a pain, and you need to take your time to do it right.

  • @bjvoorhies

    What can you do about the stuff "floating" down and over the riffles on the collected heavies? is it a substantial loss? Great videos!

    • @IBRAKEFORBEDROCK
      @IBRAKEFORBEDROCK  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes , gold can "walk" right over the heavies, but it does not happen enough to be a concern. It really depends on what size heavies, and what type of gold. Normally there is very little, if any loss on a dry washer properly set up ,and operating. If I find 2 ounces in gold and there is 4 tenths loss, I can live with that.

  • @michaelwolffs8510

    A question:
    When you show these final pass cleanouts, I assume the material has gone through the drywasher at least twice, if not more times. You still have .5"+ rocks in the tray when you suck it out. So you can't be classifying between runs. Would it be a good idea to to do that? Run the first pass material through a #4 screen, metal detect the bigger stuff to make sure you're not missing any big nuggets, than rewash the #4- material. I might even screen #8, and take that material out and wet wash at home (run through a Gold Cube.) I would worry you're losing something by not classifying down between runs, and running similar size material.

    • @IBRAKEFORBEDROCK
      @IBRAKEFORBEDROCK  8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Well lets see, I have run over 10,000 buckets of material through my drywasher or a couple friends drywashers. I have recovered pounds of gold , and adjusted my equipment in every way possible to produce the best results.. We keep things simple and recover 97% of the gold run through the drywasher, if not more. You want to tell me how to dry wash?? Seriously?? You dont need to classify , the drywasher already classifies down to 1/2 inch and that is plenty. Yes, we always run the material twice or sometimes more to make sure we have the recovery we want. Anyone who is drywashing and being successfull at it like me and my mining partner, know that classifying beforehand is not neccessary at all. and just complicates things. I do know what im doing when it comes to drywashing, not a bullshitter like someone I know . Come tell me in 2 years how your classifying went , and how much gold you recovered .....Meanwhile i`m already dialed in with experience , and recovering 98 % or better....Thanks for the advice

However, this is a link to an awesome publication , that you can download and print. @robmart8255 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Ok I have to ask. What is the purpose of the rock attatched to the drywasher? Is it supposed to be like those balls you see hanging from the back of a pick up truck?

    • @IBRAKEFORBEDROCK
      @IBRAKEFORBEDROCK  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Its there to stabilize the top of the trays from shaking so violently. Sometimes that area tends to bounce around to much. Boulderdash has done this on his 151 for a long time. I do it on my 140 as well except mine is a custom cut aliuminum plate

    I run a 151 and I'm wondering is it possible to blow flour gold completely out of the tray by running the Honda 160cc engine above idle? Or do I just need a machine to separate the super fine gold from the black sands? Thanks.

    • @IBRAKEFORBEDROCK
      @IBRAKEFORBEDROCK  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's a good engine, and I would say no. Don't full throttle it if you don't have to. Just get a feel for how well the material is responding to the air volume.

    hey got a question for you on the bradshaw mountains do you do your drywashing in yavapai co. or maricopa co. i have looked on the internet about places to go and i belong to the gpaa club and have came to a understanding that they r over worked from the people before us if u got any hint about what i need to be looking for when i do come down to look for please let me know or do a video about it thank for reading this post

    • @IBRAKEFORBEDROCK
      @IBRAKEFORBEDROCK  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Michael Slider Both Yavapai & Maricopa Counties. The GPAA has claims in gold bearing areas, so there is likely gold on them. yes, some areas of the claims can be overworked, but those are usually the areas most easily accessed. I know of several people that just found gold over the weekend on or near GPAA claims in Gold Basin, AZ. If I had a hint about GPAA claims, I would say travel to the hardest to reach claims, or the hardest areas to reach on a claim. There ya go, and hope you find some gold !
