I had been depressed for over 4 years, leading up to February 2018, ever since my grandmother died at Christmas 2015. Couple that with the overwhelming days of high school, my raging hormones, and feelings of never being good enough, almost drove me to suicide by hanging. But after hiding my emotions for so long, I decided to stay alive and got help. Ironically, this dark, depressing album kept me around. Do not let your depression control you, you are special whoever you are, wherever you are. There is hope.

I’m 22 and knew this song since I was about 10. Lost my dad to a wreck the truck ended up catching fire. But anyways this music was what he brought me up with. To this day it still speaks to me. Makes me feel like I were him when he was my age listening to it. Loved that man more than anyone could imagine. Life is a bitch but we have no choice but to go on. These times were so much better than the days we are living in now so you can almost thank God for not letting them live through this.

I have s son with a serious mental illness. He said this song and many other of Pink Floyds songs expresses the struggles many times he has.
I truly hope that someday in my sons lifetime there is recovery to a point he can function and exists in a society that doesnt understand those struggles. He is 44 and sits in the now mental health care institutions, prisons and jails. He never gives up hope.
