- This tutorial is your complete guide to the basics of playing Bayo in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. I will show you how to perform her double up B as well as the inputs for downward side B and third jump. I also explain how mechanics work such as witch time, bats within, and bullet arts. These fundamentals will greatly increase your ability to control the character and set yourself up to press your advantage state with devastating combos. Some more points I analyze are Bayonetta's recovery options, edge guard options, and KO options.

You don’t have to hit an opponent to get a third jump! It works as long as you do a jump cancel quick enough on your second up b. If her butterfly wings come all the way out, then you were too slow.

Yes! And this is much easier to do if you assign jump to one of the shoulder buttons!
Specifically It's if you cancel the jump within the first 4 frames, the game doesn't register that you burned your double jump

@@alexsuarez8567 you jump, and then immediately after, you up B. This cancels the animation of the butterfly wings and doesn’t burn your midair jump.

If you are having trouble doing the double witch twist cancel, in addition to the timing, make sure you aren't holding B when you execute the first witch twist the lag won't allow you to get the jump cancel. It took me hours to figure that out.

I used to struggle with that a lot too. I'm a very heavy on the buttons kind of person so unlearning that was rough haha
I’m new to smash.. I learned how to do this in 10 minutes. Just put jump on the bumper button and I promise you will be doing it easily every time
I haven't play this game in months because of technical issues, but the gimmicks I didn't understand until you pull up this guide.
Salem and other smash pros should've done tutorial guides like Frenzy Lights did.

Awesome guide! I just picked up Bayo earlier today. Funnily enough, I got down the instant double up b pretty fast. However, everytime I do: side b, up b, side b; i can never follow up the air side b with another up b like in the montage videos. I've tried everything I could think of but just can't land it. Looking forward to your combo guide!
Thanks so much! Yeah I the combo guide I will go much more in depth on all the inputs. To answer your question though, after the second side b you need to jump and instantly cancel the jump with a second up b. Also make sure not to input the jump while you’re still in the side b animation or it will not register. Hope this is helpful!

Im still struggling to perform the downward Side-B. It is really hard to input
you don't have to hit the opponent to get a third jump I should also mention to get a higher up-b always jump cancel all the up-b's you do jump cancel them to go even higher and as long as you have a double jump or "triple jump" you can always recover back to stage and get all of your up-b's nd side b's back if you get hit off stage so be creative
So In order to do the double up b you can't hold up for extra damage, also I'm trying to do up b combo but I fail because I hold up B and the reason why's because of platform. But I can do it If not holding so sometimes holding Is not worth It.

Yeah you want to make sure you’re just pressing up B and not holding it for that because you’ll have more lag when holding it. Also, make sure you’re not inputing the jump until the first up b animation is completely finished. It’s tough to get at first but once you figure it out and practice you can develop muscle memory for it.

How do u wall climb
What do you mean? If you do an air side B against a wall it will bounce you upward like I showed in the video but if you're trying to figure out how to wall jump all you need to do is jump towards the wall and then flick the control stick in the opposite direction right when you touch it. Hope this helps.

What’re the controls for Bayonetta’s smash attacks?
You just have to press the control stick up, side, or down and press the A button at the exact same time. Alternatively, if you have your C-stick set to smash attacks you can just press the desired direction on the right stick. Hope this helps!

The held upb is just worse and isn't good it has more endlag and doesn't combo you're better off using the unheld one 👁👄👁

How are you able to combo off of the arial side b when I do it they get knocked to far?
Great question. Most likely the reason for that is that your opponent is at too high of a percent. If you hit them with an air side be around the 80% range you can instead follow up with a jump and instant up B. Or if they’re around the 115% range you can actually just do a second side B in the exact same direction and it should connect. This also depends on your opponents size and weight though. Hope this was helpful.
