This man was born in the same house I was raised in, Iskele Trikomo. This house was across the street from the church by the entrance (circle). The stranger thing is that we share the same birthday on June 6. We experienced very strange things in that home.

I wholeheartedly believe that had he not been assassinated, cyprus would have been impossible to invade. The problem is it was all betrayed from before. According to both my grandfathers (neither of which particularly supported grivas), Kerynia was so heavily fortified that it would be impossible to invade. The problem is, central command from greece (under ioannides regime, who was most likely misguided), would command the cyprus guard to not contest the invading forces, and even worse, all the military installations in kerynia had their weapons removed. As a result, the cyprus army was too disorganised to put up any fight. Personally, i believe that if grivas was alive, even with only just EOKA B, the invasion could be repelled

Yes it's partially true, after Makarios didn't want anymore the Enosis (connection) with Greece, Grivas turned against him in a guerilla terrorist war, with members of his organisation, killing Greekcypriots and Turkishcypriots who didn't agree enosis, leftists, socialists, women and children, even the ambassador of the US Embassy in Nicosia during the war. Plus all the terrorist attacks and bombings in police stations, governmental buildings including the presidential palace. Those idiots gave to Turkey the chance to invade and to capture the 40% of Cyprus. In this video I see Makarios very skeptical of Griva's comeback, he just did what the people wanted, he welcomed home a hero who helped in the revolutionary fight against British colony during 55'-59. I am sure he knew though, what was Griva's main goal. To unify Cyprus with Greece in any cost.
Greece at the time was under the authority of the Greek Junta who overthrown the government to take power.
Makarios didn't like that.

If we hadn't him we would still be under the british having our whole island instead of now having the turks controling 35% of the island, which is not the perfect condition but surely better than before 1955. What happend in 1974 is on junta's fault and only, grivas died 6 month before the invasion and probably killed by junta for not killing the turkish cypriots. For your accusations for killings thats another lie. He killed only greekcypriots communists because they were traitors during 55-59 giving info to the british.

Cyprus was never Turkish ,
It was invaded by the ottomans like a lot of other countries in the region . This do not mean the Greek island and independent island is neither Turkish or British or Roman ,
The Turkish speaking people that are In cyprus are remnants of that invasion,
