    Explained in Rob's typically easily paced and methodical manner.
    However, I must be technically challenged, as I just found there were so many steps, I found it too difficult to both follow all the steps and wasn't all that confident about how to implement each step.
    Doubtless, all the mechanically talented may well find this all a piece of cake- I wish 🤞 🙏

    Been shooting with the OMD cameras since the original EM5 (the reason I switched from Nikon) and progressed to varies models of the 10,5 and 1 and could not really understand your passion for the Pen-F. I live in a small town in central Queensland in Oz. Never saw a Pen-F until I recently bought a mint second hand one.
    Now I know why you like it so much. Not only is it beautiful to look at it is just lovely in the hand ant the front selector dial is so good - something I thought was unnecessary.
    Your vids and this one in particular have been a great help and I love your dry humour.

    I love how you treat that pen-f like you stole it (by the looks of it, anyway). I always believed that the value of a good camera lies in it's usage, and yours looks like it's been used alot! So kudo's to you for not being too precious about your camera. I have seen so many people missing great shots because they were afraid to damage or dirty their equipment.
    I mean, these things are not cheap but if you dont use them, they are just very expensive paperweights...

      Between the G9 and PenF, I think you'd enjoy the PenF more unless you prefer doing everything in post. For street stuff like you do, I think a tilty screen like on the em10-ii is better, so you might want to look at a fufjifilm. I'm considering an x-e3 right now (changes everyday!).

    Hello Rob, last week I saw a video about the sony a7rII and he claimed, that the image quality is limited (less color depth) if you use the silent mode and also if you use the shutter with smartphone. (and some other settings have also influence on the color depth). Now I asked me, is it similar to the PEN-F? But I have no clue to find that out.

    • @RobTrek
      @RobTrek  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would have to see the video to understand what is happening. My only guess is the Sony is using 12bit compressed raw (vs 14bit uncompressed0 in electronic shutter vs mechanical. Olympus uses 12bit raw either way, so there is no loss in quality. Some have mentioned more noise at high iso but it's very subtle.

      Hi. I haven't tried making those film sims. I was thinking about doing some new ones but not sure when I will be able to make time.

    Can I do this with my E-m1 mark I? I can only set it to one color it seems.

      Well I guess I can't.

      Sorry I missed this early. Unfortunately you can't do it in-camera. However, you should be able to adjust the colors in Workspace just like in the PenF. Have a "preset" or batch file for it on my website Robtrek.com

      Unfortunately, no. However, you can use the free OM Workspace App to dial in the colors on your raw files in post processing.

    Can this be done on any other Olympus body?

    • @RobTrek
      @RobTrek  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Only on the PenF in-camera. Some of the other Olympus cameras can be tweaked in Olympus Workspace. You can watch this video here: th-cam.com/video/QdgRRZ24azc/w-d-xo.html

    I’m a bit disappointed - as a non pen-owner, I clicked out of interest in seeing what this Kodachrome 25 simulation looked like out of this little camera, but there was only one example. It’s very interesting, but you should post another video that has lots of sample photos using this film sim - for the rest of us!

      Hi, Richard. I did a photo walk 2 weeks before with several images. There is also a link in the description to the original forum post with lots more pics. Here is my vlog: th-cam.com/video/fUNdhSg5xLE/w-d-xo.html

    I can't take it any more. Going to sell my Panasonic 100-400 so I can buy one of these.
