- I first saw The Omega Man in 1971 when I was 8 years old. I was creeped out by "the family's" deformed eyes
The first time I heard Corey Hart's song "Sunglasses at Night" in the 80's, I immediately thought of The Omega Man.
The video you see here is the third version I've made. I made the first one in 1990. I did a widescreen version around 1996. And this one I finished October 8, 2006.

I also saw Omega Man in the mid 70s when I was a kid. I thought it was the coolest. Mathias and his family creeped me out and I liked it when Heston mowed 'em down with his machinegun.

Great job. And that movie is great. One that frightened me as a kid and haunted my memories until I via the internet found it again... luckily it's still as good today as it was back then... and the DVD is bought :)
I've said it before, and I'll say it now, this compilation rocks!
this is one of those movies that gave me nightmares when I was a kid because it reminded me of some of the people who lived in the projects nearby my grandparents neighborhood. They wore hoodies instead of cowls but still stalked the streets at night wearing shades.
wow, a book in 54, then vincent price in The last man on earth, then charles heston in Omega man, and now a black man in I am legend...Seen the three movies, now need to read the book. my winter read! thanks for such a great song with great clips.

I haven't heard the album cut of this song in forever! I am so tired of hearing the butchered single version. The guitar solo in the bridge of the song (that was cut out of the single) really makes this song shine.

Both films changed the book a lot but in different ways. In the book there are two stages to the disease - when they're infected but still alive they behave like vampires but have some degree of human behaviour left, when they die the disease reanimates the body and they act like dumb zombie vampires.

I have the 3 versions, ie the last man on earth, omega man, and I am legend. Personally, my favorite is Omega Man, probably due to Heston´s acting and the Family´s approach to give purpose to their lives, namely, by burning books and hunting Neville at night...
Because she was older. Remember, it was stated earlier in the movie that others took a while to change, while some changed in a fraction of time. Lisa was one of those that changed in a short period of time.

I thought I'd better clarify the origin of THE OMEGA MAN. It was loosely based on Richard Matheson's 1954 novel I AM LEGEND.
I AM LEGEND was first adapted on film as THE LAST MAN ON EARTH in 1964, starring Vincent Price.
The latest 2007 film, I AM LEGEND, with Will Smith is the third adaptation of the novel.

Great job man!!! The song meshed so beautiful with the video. I would've given it 50 stars if could. The Omega Man is one of my favorite movies ever. I first saw it back in the mid-1980s.

Whoever made this, you rock. I love both the song and the movie.
To me, this movie was partly about the extent that some people will go to have power and influence over others, even if it means it hurts them. The scene where Neville mentions a cure to Matthias and he just immediately insists there is none suggests that he's not interested in the possibility of a cure. What would happen to his position as head of the "family" if there were all cured? This is just further demonstrated when he has Richie killed at the end of the movie. They literally could have all been saved if there'd have just let Neville help them.

as a person who has read the book "I am legend", owns the Vincent Price "last man on earth" version and saw Omega Man when it originally came out at the theater...if you can do better tribute, then..."Your move imperator!"

in the latest film from 2007. they year for the film was 2014. in the Omega Man. The year was 1978

I like this, it's so awsome and if any of you guys play resident evil, the guy with the sunglasses should be Albert Wesker. Putting the omega man/ I'am Legend and resident evil together as a ultimate movie.

I used a digital VCR with video-dubbing and two-track audio-dubbing capabilities.
There are plenty of video-editing programs for your PC that you to use. I'm not familiar enough with them to know which one to recommend.

@thentobefearless Back during this time there were a hell of a lot more original ideas. All movies these days are fucking remakes of good movies back in the day. If youre going by that standpoint that you hate movies based on books or older films then you must be a really pissed off person.
Copy? Get his own ideas? This is "The Omega Man" which was made long before "I am Legend" - based on the same book.
