    I just have to say...WOW. I've followed Scarlett here and there, on and off. In the early years she was definitely one of the best foreigners, but never a REAL threat to the top Korean players...and had this psychological weakness and lots of holes in her play (which she still shows here and there by ignoring some details during hectic exchanges, though she has gotten much better at crisis management). I still think she has room to improve by plugging those holes, but man, who wouldn't be impressed by this level of play!? Never let an opponent take more than 1 game off of her including one of the top Korean players of all time and only 2 time world champion in the most prestigious tournament in the world. Not to mention up to the finals, sOs was UNDEFEATED so you cannot argue that he was in poor form.
    Honestly, I saw her play and it reminded me a lot of my all time favorite (and in my opinion, top 3 best all time) Starcraft 2 player - Life, minus the ling mastery. I was sad to hear Life was banned forever from competitive Starcraft at a professional level, and haven't found another player than excited me like he did with his aggressive world class Zerg play until I saw Scarlett in this tournament, what a pleasant surprise! It was incredible to see her do these massive attacks and yet somehow still have some drones at home or micro and be persistent enough that her attacks were just so devastating. She seemed to always be building up her backup plan as she launched these huge attacks and not very many of them seemed to end in complete failure, and the diverse and creative strategies that kept her opponent guessing...succeeding even when scouted early...just breathtaking play that has me slightly excited for the future of Scarlett...and I'm not even a huge fan of Starcraft compared to most people.
    Just bravo. Standing ovation from me not just in the final, but throughout this tournament. Entertaining, diverse, exciting and masterful matches that is without a doubt at the very pinnacle of world class play. I still believe she will have a hard time standing out from all of the incredible competition, but combined with some success in another even more prestigious tournament, it got me thinking that she isn't getting these results as a fluke, and has a genuine chance at even the biggest trophies.
    Go Scarlett!

      Biologically speaking he is male. Just because one gets a few procedures and thinks they are something else, doesn't mean they are. I never implied that you have to be a man to succeed. I implied that he is male based on scientific reasoning. Just meant to correct the Original Post.

      Michael Craven oh, look, another idiot !!!!!!! You're even original about this you know ..... But, you know, stupidity is so common nowadays (probably it has always been) so, my "friend", you have two problems: you are stupid and you lack of originality and creativity. Go f*** o** then, that's the place where you belong.

    one thing i do find is a shame in esports is the giving of the trophy seriously lacks in ceremony. i dont know how it happens in america or american sport but in europe for the final every player in congratulated by official of the competition and generally given a medal starting by the losers and then the trophy is presented to the winners. here everything fells rushed.

    • @Reavenk
      @Reavenk 6 ปีที่แล้ว +18

      What's wrong with instantly slow-running out of a chair, around another chair, 10 steps to a large plate and holding it above your head by yourself - after analyzing it for two seconds of caressing it to figure out how you're going to lift it? It's the definition of epic!

    • @gavinkemp7920
      @gavinkemp7920 6 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Reavank nothing fundamentally. if that what is expected that fine.
      but i just find it removes grandeur and epicness. it makes the victory feel rushed and gives less time to appreciate it. Doesn't honor the loser who made second even so and i'd even argue honor less the winner as it makes the their to be victory taken rather than a victory their to be earned and thus given by an official who is recognizing you as the best. you only get to celebrate twice, ounce for winning and ounce for earning the trophy.
      their nothing wrong with not having the ceremony, i just reckon it loses in grandeur.

      It depends on the event. Watch WCS for example. There its a big crowd and all the pomp that you describe. IEM is just different that is all. Nothing wrong with that.
      As for what you claim for traditional sports does not always hold either. Depending on the size of the tournament and the stakes you might not be congratulated, there might not always be medals or even a trophy. It all depends on who organises it.
      I agree its canon but it is not a rule.

      details are not important...SAID NOONE, EVER. I guarantee any other "good" Zerg player do the same ling rush would fail. Timing, hiding of the lings, perfect mind games with the other 4 lings at home that were shown to the adepts, and early speed and drop lords, targetting of the pylon early, everything was executed to near perfection and that is why this rush succeeded.
      I am glad to see the Zerg rush is still alive though, just has to be executed with more skill compared to the 6 pool 6 ling. Just one more reason why Starcraft can be interesting.

    I'd love to challenge some one of Scarletts calibre (Maru, Byun, Rogue etc) just so I can see first hand how much better they are and all that effort & time that goes into pushing those game mechanics to the limits.

  • @54jb3r7

    I like the cold calculated play. Scarlett does the crime and then doesn't get suckered into going all, just so calm reaping what's sowed and not afraid to take the game wherever it needs to go to close the game in the safest way possible. Almost robotic.

    I kind of wish scarlett would get hydralisks with roaches to destroy the oracles and other air units

    • @tybofborg
      @tybofborg 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Roach/ravager are an early game unit, you can get them out before lair. Waiting for hydras would only delay the push and and let protoss make more immortals. With an early push, protoss won't have enough in the air to make a difference. Roaches are beefy, and oracles only have so much energy. Also, ravager can hit air units with bile, provided that they don't dodge it.
