When I was growing up on the farm most of our tractors didn't have padding on the seat let alone a cab. We only had one tractor with power steering a 1958 International Farmall 450.
That being said I can see several advantages to the LSW tires. Besides less compaction they make it possible to get into a field that's a bit wet or soft. We spent all summer praying for rain and fall to harvest praying for no rain.
Finally why don't you take the weights off the front? Less weight means less compaction and more flotation. And you guys remind me of my old friends and family and Good Times!
As a broke down old dirt farmer, who hasn't farmed in 30 years, your videos are a sight to behold! I still miss the spring and fall seasons spent in a tractor and/or combine seat to this day. It is also nice to see how uch progress has been made in all aspects of agriculture. I just hope you really appreciate what you have got there. You don't know how quickly it can slip away.
I just find it amazing these young people carrying on the farming tradition
Hello Mr little I guarantee you Laura and Grant and their families appreciate what they have I'm not even a farmer and I have learned a lot of what she has taught in her videos love you brother God bless you
I love it
I love it Lauren love it
Lauren keep it gone don't you never quit
Could you totally do a video where you crsuh stuff under those big tires like plants, mulching, teddy bears, pumkins etc!? Would be awesome 🤙
Hello from the UK! We love American farming! We also love this channel. Keep up the great work!
Thanks for the explanation and info on the LSW’s. If you want to really pimp your ride, you need some chrome mirrors, chrome front bumper/brush guard, chrome exhaust stacks, and tint the cab. Have Grant install a killer stereo system with huge speakers. Install some hydraulics that jack the tractor up on 3 wheels and make it hop up and down like a West Coast lowrider. LOL 😂👍🚜.
The Tires look good. I don't see a problem with using a low pressure tire when your not driving in a planted corn field. Your not wrong about maintenance on tracks and pulling tracks off is a major task. great video and good since.
The tractor looks Great with those tires!!! However, when you pulled up next to the trailer to unload the grain cart.. that's when it (the tractor) looked BOSS!!!! that gave a great size comparison. I understand your snack bag... when driving rock trucks (up to Cat 797's) on surface mines (getting loaded by drag link shovels) My self and most all the operators carried such a bag (along with a lunch/dinner bag). It is said like this, at the start of the shift, get in the truck - open snack bag.. at the end of shift, close snack bag and get out.
Grants tractors and farm look great. I bet.he appreciates.you helping out on his farm. You should put those big tires on your tractor.
When my son was studying Chemistry at Texas A&M he took an Ag course as an elective and came home and gave us a lecture about the hazards of soil compaction and that soil should be loose and drainable and breathable in order to support life and let plants grow so when I see those tires that's what I think about. Interesting to see something I learned from academics put into practice in real life farming.
That’s exactly what these tires are trying to protect doing. Doesn’t matter how good big strong your tractors and the rest of your machines are, the soil makes you money!
And they are good in snow and mud!
You don't know how much your smile brightens my day.
God bless you all!!!
Reaping what you sowed. Harvest season on new tires. They're massive and make quite the statement of unstoppable power. Much needed to get the job done. Happy Harvesting.
Laura you unloaded that combine on the go so we'll it was almost as if they were tied together. I like the tires!
I saw that video of the switch of tires. I think it looks awesome like a monster tractor 🚜
You are always such a happy person. Love your smile.
Out of all the cool videos you guys out out all year, the harvest videos are my favorites; really shows off all your skills, and
The fruits of your labor. ❤️ Also, just love watching you and Grant being husband and wife.
Combines always remind me of the Everlasting Gobstopper machine in Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. Crop is just run over, lots of noise and spinning things and out comes the chaff chopped and spread with the clean grain ready for the bin (mostly). Of course, we know the crop is being reaped, pod or ears stripped off, threshed and then winnowed as the grain is sifted.
Thanks for the tire benefits instruction. Makes sense now. Very pro on the speed matching with Grant's off- load. You may enjoy seeing something similar that happens at sea called replenishment. Same idea--match speeds and deliver product. Big ships instead of big tractors.
Thanks Laura, you did answer my question about the large tyres. I, half expected your answer.
I suppose I was thinking it would limit the use of the tractor.
Stay safe one and all, best wishes from Mike. ❤
Add a single wide tire on your grain carts Laura... I was raised to use one single wide for harvest and duals for planting & irriigation season... Never steered us wrong
Looks like big tyres are great to save compaction which will make planting next year catch you on next vlog 😀
Laura’s word of the day: INDENTION. Similar to the commonly known INDENTATION.
DEFINITION: an indent that is medium but not to bad.
😅😂
I remember the earlier days of your filming that your dad gave you a hard time. chased you out of the barn and told you to get some work done. Your family must be proud of your accomplishments. How about that fall harvest dance. I wanna see if grant can "cut the rug" 2 steppening
i absolutely love these massive farming machines...i have so much respect for farmes that work day and night to feed the nation, your channel is amazing! you are amazing ❤️
I'm with you Laura 💯 those LSW tires look big and mean lol.
I feel grant leaves those water bottles in the tractor to get that Plug out there LOL
Be sure and keep your tie rods lubed up & keep an eye on your axel welds
Not a farmer, but I agree, the tractor looks cool with the LSW tires.
Great video good to see y'all from Louisiana
the biggest advantage is during tillage and planting. The grain cart would be good with the LS tires
Grant nice job cutting beans!
Hey Laura and Grant.... I am looking forward to seeing lsw duals mounted on that tractor.....Hey give it a try.....!!!! It would look so cool....!
Love them tires great video Laura have a great day God bless
I like the big tires. It makes the tractor 🚜 look mean.
Thanks for making me understood the importantance of different tire fits on tractors i always wondered why some have big wheels and others have dual tires although i knew during fertigation or weeding you would need a tractor with wheels that would fit in between without destroying the plants
I love hearing about all of your Ag Equipment. We in Northeast Texas run cattle and are tree farmers so unfortunately, we don't get to play they the large Ag Toys.
i live in the uk i thought the usa was finished but after watching a few of your vids i have hope in the younger generation keep up the good work
Good to see young people such as yourself doing hard work.
Bonjour Laura bon courage pour les moissons superbe vidéos bonne semaine à tous les deux et à tous l équipe bises
nice large size tyres # these tyres are good to compress silage in piles #❤️👍
Those tires on your tractor just have the cool factor going on!!! Love the video's thanks for sharing!!!
Love you guys!
Because I am an engineer......... I wonder why they don't mount a camera on the end of the auger so that you can see where you are dumping the product. It seems like a simple and inexpensive fix. You could keep track of where you were going while optimizing the fill routine. Also, why not have a system that controls the grain bin tractor speed relative to the harvester speed? Both speeds are known in digital format and a simple communication link could be added and tied into the bin tractor speed control.
I really enjoy the vids!!
I am not sure but imagine one big drawback of a camera on the auger is the vast amount of dust kicked up anywhere near the end of the auger. That's not saying it isn't still a good idea or feasible. But I think the dust issue, no matter which crop, would have to be countered before it could be workable.
@@davegift197 A little compressed air on the camera lens will keep it clean.
You should take a vacation and go operate for Parker Schnabel for a week in the Yukon
Number one reason to put big tires on. They are cool. As a retired equipment operator you are spot on on what you say.
T.M. Ritchie, cool does pay for those over priced tires. You noticed she never mentioned how much they cost.
8:09 My tractor don't wiggle wiggle, it rolls.
I sent a reply as to tire issue. I know that this is confusing but I notice original tires. are bigger in back than front. The gearing from John Deere compensates for that. I have a small John Deere tractor and it is set up similar. If I changed tires to be bigger one in front then I change factory settings for front axle ratio. Not a problem until put in 4 wheel drive. Anyway I hope this won't be a problem. If ratio's have changed this could damage driveline componants.
A lot of the tractors in Europe have this tire setup. Good for their intended application. Great video
True! On our farm all tractors got lsw tires
Nebraska looks like a beautiful place. But, its beauty pales in comparison to you. And your dedication to what you do, on top of that, plus your knowledge of what you do, leaves me speechless. The only farm I ever worked on involved running a bat wing bush hog and walking down miles of soybean rows with a pump sprayer on my back, spraying Johnson grass. When my tank ran out, I would have to walk back to the truck, refill my tank and walk back to where I left off and continue, over and over. Whew! I was a lot younger then. Worked on combines, grain drills, cultivators, motor graders, tractors and others. Miss stopping in the sweet corn field eating the corn right off the stalk. Good times. Wish I had stayed in that industry. But, ended up hauling freight over the road for years. I really enjoyed that. But, at 67 and blind in one eye due to Glaucoma, I doubt that I could pass D.O.T. physical. Still keep my CDL for sentimental reasons. Sucks to get old. But, I can relive some of my past through you. Thanks.
Hello from the eu slovakia We love American farming! We also love this channel. Keep up the great work!
Thanks for explaining things so well. I am not a farmer but I think the LSWs have more pros than cons.
My favorite tractors are the big dual wheel articulating tractors.
If you two are big CAT fans, you wouldn’t call the Skid Steer’s a Bobcat. Bobcat is a completely different brand. Love your Millennial Farmer channel though. 🤣 I am jealous of the mirrors on your RAM. Wish my Silverado had those.
I think the tires are bad ass, I love the tractor pulls also! Love your all’s channel btw
Those flotation tires are the deal. And the stance of that JD looks wicked now...
Glad to see you and Grant are doing the soybeans and I love the track of those tires on it and I'm glad to see you too Miss not seeing y'all everyday I really do enjoy the videos and watching TH-cam I think y'all are a lovely couple
Good morning Laura thanks god i found ur channel i been a farmer ever sins keep doing more videos keep safe and god bless
I hope the low river levels don’t make moving the harvest a problem this fall
The 8335R looks like a big Tonka Toy:)
Im starting to get the impression you really like how cool the tires look!
Lol. You guys are so cute. Always enjoy the videos
Hi, Laura. I play Farming Simulator 19 and as the game loads up there's a video of a guy who has bought a farm. As he opens the barn door(s) we see a John Deere 8400R and it has the big tires all around like yours. I like the bigger tires on your tractor as it makes it look awesome. 🙂 Hope you liked the little red tractor.
You need to get them for your combine it will help the ride and mobility of the machine but go wider for the combine it will help with wet ground to stay safe
I can see some merit of the large tires. I think use over time will be more notable as to likability. Good video, thank you.
Solid video. I'm grateful for seeing the harvest.
Good morning from Belgium Laura (city of Brussels)
Great video keep up the good work and have a great harvest season and God bless from GA and stay safe
Reminds me ofmy Tinka Toy Tractor about 70 years ago.
You need those big tires on the pivots, at least the ones that tend to get stuck in the mud.
Ahh...I was wondering why the change! Thank you for the explanation! Really like this Farming pair!! Thanks Laura and Grant!
Do you use signal messaging?
not a farmer so i can't assess the practical commercial aspects of the tyre, but i can say they look badass. And that's worth more, surely.
The tractor looks great. Love the wide tires. It's a work monster.
I say keep those tires! I can see that you are happy with them and when Laura's happy, it makes me/us happy! Can't get enough of those Laura smiles and "goood morning"s! Always brightens my days and nights! :-)
Your snack pack is cool! In the UK we would call that a Tuck Box😅 Great vid as always❤
It seems like a big investment for the LSW tires when the only practical benefit is some less compaction and a better ride over the duals.
Great show and yes the 🚜 is beefy.
I love the look of farm equipment!!!
13:10 - Like the Fruit-Loops in the bag. 😊
Wouldn't you need to put big tires on the auger wagon and the combine also to make the compaction argument ?
Hola Laura, ahí es todo a lo grande
Up here In canada we call those flotation tires and because of our rain fall we have no choice but to run these tires
That tracker is so awesome keep up the great work laura 👏💪👍🙌 and husband
Have a safe day God Bless you all
Love the tires ! Another great video !
have to admit I like both types of the tires those big ones Rock though
Keep your old tires for when the sidewalls give out on those Goodyears.
I really really like the LSWs on the tractor. Would Grant consider putting LSWs on his combine?
Great personality, great videos
Very interesting. I understand about the track’s maintenance as I was once overseeing track replacement on a UK Challenger tank. By the way where is the Laura Farms start logo gone?
I think there great, but the two bad things is if you ruin one there expensive but getting new ones can be a big problem, down time if you don’t have extra tires like you do.
Good morning Laura. Happy Monday.
Was that the new corn head that Cale had problems with in his last video? If so, glad to see that it got fixed so quickly!
Love the shortened intros lately. 👍
The new tire swap are BAD ASS,
LOved this one! great content. 'nuff said.
It must have been a tough choice naming this channel! Laura Farms or Laura Smiles! I keep coming back for the smiles!
You should buy a beater pickup and make a monster truck with those tires. Shoot a video of you changing those tires to the duals, that must be a process. Take that tractor through the drive through again!! LOL!
Loving watching your harvest again this year, those tires are awesome 👏😎
Like the big tires!
Laura have you seen BIG BUD 747.now that is a tracker the largest and most powerful ever built.
nice charger shirt Grant
Watching you and Grant is like seeing the Beatles for the first time at the Cavern Club. Some would say that's an overstatement but mark my words, you two are headed for incredibly great and wonderful things in the close future. I don't know what that is but it's going to be really good for world ag and how information is presented. Can't wait. Keep on doing what you do. Love it.
