Friday nights at my grandparents. We'd all gather around the TV waiting for Wink Martindale to make his entrance. Wish I could go back in time and enjoy these great childhood memories again!
Jason Bertalotto Now you know! I have TouchMaster Connect for my Nintendo DS. That one has Tic Tac Trivia. When playing against the computer, you have a chance to steal the square which the computer picks by answering the question correctly. The faster you answer the question, the more points you score.
Tic Tac Dough ran an incredible 8 years with Wink Martindale at the helm (1978-85) It was one of my favorite shows when I was a kid. Now I can get selected episodes of Tic Tac Dough? I just don’t want to get burned by the Dragon.(ROAR!) Kenneth A Huang 8/12/2022

"Crazy Fun" by Hal Hidey. This is a terrific theme to TTD, not that disastrous theme Henry MancinI created for "Tic Tac Dough '90". Mancini's last television theme felt more like a Saturday morning cartoon show about a princess in a far away kingdom, not a theme for a game shoe.
TV history was made on Tic Tac Dough when Thom McKee (1:20) became the biggest game show winner in the history of TV up to that time. His total winnings came to $312,700, a PHENOMENAL amount. It was national news.
The announcers on these CBS and syndicated versions of Tic-Tac-Dough (from 1978-86 were): Jay Stewart (1978-81, with Johnny Gilbert filling in) Charlie O'Donnell (1981-86)

This theme is 40 years old and it still goes hard. If this doesn’t make you want to get up and dance then there is something not right with you. Lol jk
Interesting fact - the famous Tic Tac Dough gameboard ran on 9 Apple II computers and displayed various contents (category, X, O, bonus numbers, amounts, TIC, TAC, dragon, as well as custom messages and an active screensaver) in which the Apples were linked to an Altair 8800 machine and a custom console that controlled it all

I saw Jim's version on abc's affiliate station KATC-TV 3 Lafayette, LA. But I never saw the CBS version, b/c I wasn't born yet, until I saw it last year here on You Tube. Game shows had some of the best theme music. This one just kicks!
This is still used at major league hockey games in Canada. It's perfect.
I did not know that. What team?
+Larry Stimely, it would make a great intro theme in Major League Baseball.
this was done by mr hal hidey
Larry Stimely Cool to know that, the theme to Card Sharks is used at NJ Devils games. Amazing these themes from 30 to 40 years ago still have life.
Damn, I can't get this tune out of my head!!! Been tooooooo long since I've heard it!!!!
Loved Tic Tac Dough as a kid! Watched it all the time when I was a kid. Loved Wink Martindale! Wish GSN would, bring it back
I did, too! I found the dragon most of the time but I got the bundles of fun out of the bonus round watching it.🙈
David Tate Ever played Tic Tac Trivia on those Megatouch machines in restaurants and bars? It felt like being on Tic Tac Dough, with Wink Martindale!
Sounds challenging, what if Thom McKee played it? Would you beat him. I did not know that game was on Megatouch! LOL
Jason Bertalotto Now you know! I have TouchMaster Connect for my Nintendo DS. That one has Tic Tac Trivia. Thank You Very Much Bob Hilton, Hello Everybody!!
I read that in Charlie O'Donnell's voice
Thank you for posting this! I've been humming it for years and couldn't remember where it was from. You saved my pop culture sanity! Lol
You know that the dragon is shakin' his tail while dancing to the music... 😉
If I was to revive TTD, I would make the dragon vicious during the show but be a dancing machine during the end credits.
TTD needed a dancing dragon, that's for sure! 🙃
MTheChequeGuy shall I ask why the game has a dragon in the first place.
TTD just needed a dragon 🐉 .... it wouldn't be the same without it.
Yea he'll take all the dough away
WHEN THE TIC TAC DOUGH THEME PLAYS AT THE END OF EACH SHOW… THE AUDIENCE CLAPS ALONG. What a cool theme!
Kenneth Huang. 7/22/24.
From Television City in Hollywood, this is the game of strategy, knowledge and fun, it’s Tic Tac Dough, and now, here’s our host, Wink Martindale!!
Those are some fast hand-claps!! LOL!
Man this song has the stankiest breakdown at 0:46!! Loved this tune as a lil kid!!
Love those synthesizers.

This theme evokes amazing memories!
We don't talk about the 90s version.
Hal Hidey, one of the most underrated theme song composers of our time, did this and a lot of other Barry and Enright shows. The guys was a genius.
Best lyrics I could up with are "Crazy fun, crazy fun/We're gonna have some crazy fun!"
Tic Tac Dough is a Jack Barry and Dan Enright Production!
Yeah. This show and "The Joker's Wild", were created by Barry and Enright.

And Tic Tac Dough aired, here in Kentucky, on WLKY and WTVQ every weeknight from 1978-81, though WLKY resumed airing TTD from 1984-86.
Question: Out of all the TV gameshow hosts today who would you think would host this if it came back??? All replies welcomed.
I know I’m 3 years late, but I could see maybe Wayne Brady hosting it.
I think "Tic Tac Dough" was taped, in Los Angeles. Most of the Game Shows are film, in different Television Studios.
1978-1980 - (CBS) Television City
1981-1986 - KCOP-TV Los Angeles
