i could her the fries sounded crispy to me. i was sold on the burger the second i saw the beetroot. beets are so underappreciated by my generation here in the States.
If a small one-off cafe can make such a huge burger, massive amount of chips an an undiluted soft drink for $11.80 and still make a profit, it just shows how much McDonalds are blindly ripping their customers off.
Eh plain or slight vinegar taste, that some considered pickled. Most would be from a can form a factory. Any burger with home made beets would be $20 + just the burger
Sounds like a good deal Greggo mate i know my mum would probably eat this too as i know she has a taste for the burger and Chips and a hint of chicken salt too 😀😉
I like buttered beets. Grew up on them. But, not pickled and CERTAINLY not on a hamburger. Funny how different countries have different ways of doing things. I had never heard of beets on a sandwich until I started watching this channel. Another question, why is it a frying PAN but a sauce PIN? Just curious. They are all PANS.
Being from western Kentucky I should love beets too ” BUT “ I never picked up a liking for them. I think they taste like moist dirt right from the creek bank....
Ditto! (From middle Tennessee) I’ve tried them every way possible and still- nope- not earthy- not dirt- but EXACTLY as you describe- moist, almost rotten Earth, maybe plenty of fresh earthworm poo richly amongst... Excellent for planting delicious veggies in ... Except beets.
Try some Aussie beetroot out of the can, it's both sweet and earthy but wihout the overpowering taste of dirt. You gotta wash your Beet properly! Pairs really well with cheese which is why Greggo was so devo.
Beets are cleaned and cooked and then canned/jarred in a mixture of vinegar, sugar and so they taste a bit like sweet and sour pickles. They do not have that earthy taste any more.
Don’t you just love these industrial estate type carvery offerings… this looks like a ripper offering from the Willy who looks like he has a wide variety of grub… beetroot is a must on a burger like this… Cheers Gibbo
Love Willys Carvery. Although I usually get sucked in to the tasty offerings of the Hot Box :), ( Crumbed sausages etc.). Its a great Carvery, and not expensive either.
A fellow opshopper! You need to make the trip to the Clifton op shop, open Wednesday to Friday. Every item is $2 My wife is a volunteer there and would love to outfit you Grego Keep these videos coming
Hello I’m new to your channel and I love beef burger it looks delicious and yummy. I hope to hear from you soon, take care and stay safe 👍🌺🌈🦋😊🙏🏻from Edith in cairns Australia.
That looks good, Beetroot is interesting and it could be unique on a burger but I actually think it is a good idea, Cheese on the burger would have been good because I think it would have complimented the Beetroot. Oh if only we had the Chicken Salt. The place looks great. We don't get the Solo Drink but it looks great. Agreed, 9.5 top burger.
Yum... another good one! Check this joint also for proper 1970's milk bar style hamburgers. Fat, juicy and tasty... dripping with goodness! Miami Takeaway, 2/2088 Gold Coast Hwy, Miami QLD 4220.
Yep for sure my local does one for $7.50, the Pattie is nicely seasoned bread is fresh and has lettuce, tomato, fried onion, cheese, beetroot, pineapple, egg and bacon with a choice of tomato of bbq sauce.
Just got this video recommended! Great Stuff Greg! Wishes from India!

Beetroot on a burger is pretty much an aussie standard. You should probably move to Australia

Macca's are just way overpriced and undersized for what it is. For value and quality I go elsewhere.

Oh yes!
I'm not sure about the beets on a burger. Are they pickled or buttered?
Wondering that too
Pickled
Always pickled in Australia
Yep only pickled. Aussie ‘taste’ version of American pickled cucumbers ‘taste’ on their burgers
I like buttered beets. Grew up on them. But, not pickled and CERTAINLY not on a hamburger. Funny how different countries have different ways of doing things. My gf says the exact same thing.
Aussie beets are sweet.

thats worth a drive to Cannon Hill, two patties, beet and a box of chips. I think that place is 15 mins from me, I'll add it to a Bunnings trip.
Don’t you just love these industrial estate type carvery offerings… this looks like a ripper offering from the Willy who looks like he has a wide variety of grub… beetroot is a must on a burger like this… Cheers Gibbo

Is that near the roundabout? I've never noticed that place! Might check out their chicken burger.
Sure is. I pop in there every now and then
I go there GregO
Not cause of the name but their pork, gravy and apple sauce rolls are bewdiful. And they have lovely Chinese from time to time
G'day Greg, guys here.
I love the guitar tunes
Would have been a ten out of ten I reckon with a home made pattie.
And a cheese slice
then it wouldn't be the same price.
i always watch the entire video so I don't miss your smile and thumbs up and jingle.

Absolutely, incredibly generous with the scoring.
I’m American and vegetarian and I am wondering what veggie options are like in Australia. Thanks Greg Ive been a fan
Vegetarian options are limited in places like that. You can get a salad roll
Wasn’t asking you....but thanks...?
i love how some of the chicken burgers are pre made sitting in the warmer, the lettuce getting all warm etc.
also not complaining about how much food you got but wheres the cheese?
only some of the chicken get cheese!
btw your burger comes with bbq sauce as it says on the menu
technically you payed 2.20 for a can of drink when you were supposed to get a bottle
cannon hill isnt exactly in the middle of nowhere it's in the middle of Brisbane, about an hour from yours

I live in the states and I love beets on a burger
Start bringing your pantry cupboard or fridge so you add extras
I still remember maccas burgers coming in those polyestirine packages
Must have beetroot and, if possible pineapple. Gerkhins are good too.
Definitely go with the beetroot grego😋❤️🏴👍
Beatroot absofuckinlutely.
Thanks for the video 🤜🤛
Awesome greggo 👍
We don't do beet root over here in the States, but maybe I'll try making my own burger with some. Cheers 🍻
Yes it's all "pickle " in USA, which is what we here in New Zealand call gherkin!
Old Grego loves the taste of Willys 😂😂😂
Looks yummy yo and enjoyable plus guaranteed by grego review and of course original Aussie recipe
That's kinda steep for that price over here in KY that would feed 2 people looks good anyway
That's about USD $9.00 and minimum wage here is AUD $24.80 if you are over 21, just to put things in perspective.
Where is KY?
@@davidrosenberg2708 It's the state abbreviation for Kentucky USA
Is fast food Friday still a thing
Every Sunday I watch a bloke on TH-cam eat -fish and chips- burger and chips.
They do a mean Hot Dog with the Lot as well Grego!

Looked like a good hot box. I'd have gone for a ckiko roll and a couple of dimmies
Did GregO get his lunch allowance again? hehe!
Excellent score.
Lol I drop in this place just about everyday.
Always a yes for chicken salt
I think you just fed the mouse in your car Grego!

Pretty good deal but was suppose to be a 600 mil not a can burger looked nice
Beetroot YES a and grilled pineapple
I love beetroot !! I agree 💯 beetroot should be on every burger , it gives the burger a depth of flavour 🍔
Thats the best carvery in the area 🤘
I will always choose a traditional Milk Bar Aussie burger over a Americanised monstrosity...
Absolutely! Our local F & C shop does the best old school burger and its delicious and cheap!
with proper twice cooked hand cut chips man.... like the ol greek fish n chippies...
